Scatches on Lenovo X240 and X250 LCD touch screen

I showed 23 Lenovo laptops model X240 and X250. But we saw a lot more the last few months with these damaged / scratched screens.
This is a design flaw of these models. especially in the model after the X240.
I should be solved after the model X240.

I just accidentally put three big scratches on the touch screen for my ThinkPad T15 laptop with my fingernail. I was cleaning the screen with a lens wipe and I didn't realize that the sharp edge of my recently cut fingernail was making contact with the screen. I cannot figure out any way to remove the scratches. I tried rubbing alcohol, an eraser, and Goo Gone. I'm scared to try toothpaste because I don't think that method works for touch screens. Am I now forced to replace the entire screen or is there a simpler way to fix the scratches?

Its so sad that it can happen to these awesome laptops. My bro got the same problem with its T540p, it has also keyboard marks on its screen. He uses it everyday 8 hours. Lenovo should call back all these laptops and fix this issue.

Yep it’s the plastic screen protector it’s also on the some of the Thinkpad yogas

@@blackandcold , the screen protector is part of the screen... if you look carefully, you can see the film.... but I don't know if it can be removed.

Are they covered by the warranty? I do have an X240 touch with this issue. Even worse, the display case has cracked a bit (it's not a impact crack, it's some sort of "bad plastic" crack")

I am about to order a refurbished X250 with touch screen but there are non touch screen versions.
Is this an issue of touch screen versions only?
