- (this PMV is mostly based on my headcanons, and might not be precise to the real characterizations/plots in Bittersweet Candy Bowl)
sandy's whole life changed the day she moved away to become a model. she's too busy in the big city to have very many friends, so all she has is one : mike, her boyfriend.
when she visits her home back in roseville, she sees a familiar face, a girl who used to be her friend.. but the memory feels so tied down to her old life. she can't reopen that wound, she can't go back.
mike is the only constant in her life. mike is the only thing that feels normal, and the distance between them leaves her longing.
she ends up reaching out, and finding comfort in the wrong place : her hairdresser, francis.
when mike finds out, conflict brews between them, and her world begins to tear apart. outside the spotlight is cold and harsh, and she realizes that mike is the only warmth she has.
there was a time when being a model was all she ever wanted (there was a girl, her friend, that she used to tell all about it..) and when she signed that contract, her hopes and dreams were coming true.. but as adulthood creeps closer and closer, she's finally noticing just how much this lifestyle has taken from her.
This gives Sandy more character development than the comic ever will. Otherwise, amazing job ❤

the use of spotlights in the symbolism ?!?! >>>>>>
This is absolutely incredible! I was pulled in from the first frame to the last! The aesthetic, the song (a perfect fit, so perfect it seems almost as if it were written specifically for the character herself), the artstyle itself, and the VHS type filter that gives the whole thing a nostalgic vibe that ties in with Sandy missing the childhood she never had, it all blends together to create something emotional and insightful. Sandy is a character that is woefully underdeveloped, and whenever she's on screen, she seems oblivious and cold. There is clearly much more to her than that, and this does an excellent job at filling in those gaps. I could go through each frame and point out what makes it work, what makes it so wonderful, but we'd be here for an eternity! Perhaps one day I will make a video dissecting it, who knows. For now, I congratulate you on this monumentous PMV. I will share it as a community post immediately!

i packed this video with a lot of symbolism and headcanons/theories about sandy and her life.. i Love over-analyzing her and giving meaning to her actions and behaviour in the comic.. to Me she is a character with so much depth that i would love to see more fleshed out one day.. but for now i am Making Things Up about her, haha.
This is really good, certainly gives us a little more insight into Sandy's life. It could be canon if Veronica wanted it to be. I also really like the design for Francis (particularly that he's depicting as an older male as that's how she described him in the comic, and of course she found him attractive) and Sandy's obvious desire to be with Mike and Daisy, and even with Francis briefly, over her job. Shows that her mother is clearly living vicariously through her. I'll say it looks like she clearly remembers Daisy even after she leaves but she may have forgotten a while later, as at 1:19 she looks like she doesn't recognize Daisy, only knowing her as Mike's close friend. I hope the comic will go down the route your video depicted, showing Sandy remembering Daisy and wanting to be closer to Mike, she'll return on Valentines Day hopefully wanting to improve herself and be a better boyfriend to Mike and rekindle with Daisy.
