You have to adopt the environment, go along with the locals just live a simple life is the only way to live a happy life. You look like Willem Dafoe of the "Platoon" movie hahaha
Who expected a guy on vacation walking up to you in a farmers' market in Pinan Philippines by a tobacco stand telling you to stop by for some cigars to a house down the street on the next corner out of the blue would lead to a friendship. You walked away with cigars and many different western foods as a gift from a stranger. This is what expat life is about getting away from the rat race back home but enjoying the comforts of home at the same time. We all have trigger memories that bring smiles to our faces of the past, but we want the excitement of the new life in a different culture. you can escape the past, but the memories of the good time will haunt you forever.
@@michaelatoz580 yes that is so true. We met in that sticky market. Well outside the tobbaco lady. And I still have some of the stuff you sent in the fridge. Cigars gone of course hahahahah
Yes mate, you are so right. Positive is the best way to be. You can have money but money doesn’t buy happiness. I don’t have good health not a lot of money. But happiness is the great. God bless you both also the little fella.
@@Philippinedreaming Have you seen the smoke houses in Hastings?? I have made a small version on the farm to smoke bacon > pork > fish Chicken did not go so well Could never make enough bacon to keep up with demand when I get back to cebu as back in the UK just now I will restart

@Philippinedreaming You are very welcome. My wife and I are bird lovers and we've been using that app and another called BirdNET for years. They are both good. You have a beautiful wife and a beautiful house and a beautiful family and you are set up extremely well. You're a winner. Birds are incredible creatures and I'm sure you've got a wonderful assortment in your area. Enjoy yourself and I wish you great luck.

@@kimglarbo7005 Thank you for your support. Dumagette is the next island from here. Maybe 2 hours on a ferry.
What do you call the bird chirping in the background?
In the UK we call it a Bullfinch. I do not know the Filipino name for it. I love the beautiful sounds of nature.
@Philippinedreaming Try installing Merlin Bird ID on your phone. You can hold your phone up and it will listen and tell you the birds by their call 🙂

Living a couple of hours away from the extended Filipino family is recommended by many ex-pats... Interesting that you both are doing so too.
We sometimes pop in to Miras uncle and aunties when we go into the city but not to often haha.
Audio comes out here too soft..
Yes, Sorry about that. I need an external mic which i will buy. Thank you for letting me know.
