I had the same problem. I added a triple inlet rudder, dual outlet, and larger hoses. Also swapped the stock motor water jacket with an aluminum aftermarket unit. Works great if I go fast. July 2024, have recently added an electric pump that runs on a separate battery.

You need to put larger hoses, I also got rid of my ESC/motor. Double intake rudders are straight up necessary. This is Traxxas though, they don't care. They know it heats up. I have one too and used to over heated.

You plugged the pump on the rudder inlet?

Yes I just cut the hose it’s hard to get it on but just keep trying you will get it

They don’t sell the pump no more because the couldn’t get it . But the pump comes from a car windshield washer pump that sprays your windshield
