I have watched quite a few traveling videos in Japan. I love how the ground crew always waves goodbye. It doesn’t matter if you travel by train, ferry or plane. It’s really cool.
I know. And passengers on the ferries wave back. I really like those travel videos and they have everything typed out for you too. That vending machine ferry is something.

I'm jealous. My dad once told me he saw fireworks from an airplane and ever since then it's been on my list, I never have and here you guys are 😭😭😭😭😭 seeing those fireworks!
the kids sang so nice back in the car on the way to the airport❤ That reminded me how much I allways wished to have many siblings when I was a child, I grew up with only one sister!
Oh, and I reacted when one of the twins said "it's so weird with shoes on" as she walked in to grandmom's house, here in Finland we never,ever walk inside with shoes on, just like in Japan we take them off!
It is weird when you're used to doing things one way and it completely changes!
The taco song they sang is stuck in my head now! They harmonize so well!
Love the fact that you have been able to take your children to visit with the American side of your family . A blessing for both you and your family . Really did not need another seemingly endless flight video , I was waiting for some fun reunion footage😂😂❤ . I sincerely hope you and your children enjoy your summer break 😊. @LIJ it is lovely to see a family although separated by time zones / distance, is still fully committed to maintaining those family bonds . So important for children's sense of their place in this world . I still remember the footage of Vovo teaching Joshua to swim 🏊♀️ 😀 🤣. I'm sorry if my comment about the travel footage seemed personal . Frankly, as one of four myself in a service family ,( frequent moves ), I am always amazed at how cheerfully your children travel . I'm sure their friends cannot wait to hear tales of their summer holiday's 🤭😮😲 😁😁. Safe travels, God bless .

How exciting!!! I always feel the day of travel is the most stressful before you even get on the plane. You guys did well. What a cute song and in such unison! Do any of you have a fear of flying? I have flown so much but I am oddly terrified of it as well. The fireworks were welcoming you guys back to the States :) I am hoping you all will have an amazing time!

Have a fantastic summer! Our summer is winding down but not without a trip to Spain to see two of our past high school exchange students. It will be a long flight and I expect the jet lag but we are going to have so much fun as you are! ❤🎉
What helped me with jet lag of 8 hour time differences was stay awake. Land at noon or afternoon if possible and stay outside to stay awake and not be tempted by a nap and then go to you place that you stay and go to bed at 8 pm local time.
Reminded me of coming back to visit my home country and grandparents back when I was a child :))) that is the best feeling seeing them wait there at the airport to see you! We also had to fly across the world :) Hi from Chicago :) enjoy your stay

You know when I lived in Japan and worked as an ALT, I still had to go to work in the summer and desk warm when there was nothing to do, no classes and I had to train a student for the English language speech competition. And the staff room had no Aircon

‘Friendly skies are United.’ Why did you choose JAL? My know how to recover jet lag early is to sleep if I’m sleepy but under lighting and stay awake if I’m not sleepy but with curtain shut because light adjusts brain.

Great Video. One curious question. How do your kids eat Rarnen&Co The Western way or Japanese or both? And since you family in US and Brazil? Maybe you could talk school lunches and other differences in general . Japanese school lunch is well known to be Balance and healthy. Looking forward to more Video about your vacation

When I was teaching, my schools started their Summer Break around the 23rd / 24th of July.
Or did you all make special arrangements with the kids' schools to let them start their Summer Break Earlier?
special arrangements - we needed the extra time in early July!
The children should become singers and actors.

Ive read Japan is slowly transitioning to a fall school start like us to make it easier for kids to transfer from other countries. Maybe by the time yours graduate, right?

How would that work when different countries do it differently? That doesn't make sense because it's not like there's that many gaijin kids in most schools.
@@mecha_genki It's supposedly being pushed by the universities, since they are losing Japanese students rapidly as the population ages. Probably take a while to trickle down to the lower grades anyway.

My trip to Japan is sailing for 2 weeks so shouldn’t have jet lag when we go in October. We will fly home so there will be jet lag coming home.

Do your kids ever face culture shocks in America since they’ve lived in Japan for most of their life?
They do! But they don't know it's culture shock. They also remember when we visited 3 years ago, so they know what to expect also.
