So this Incarnon came and went a couple of weeks ago and I decided to build it. Since this video was made, they updated the Incarnon Mode's charged fire into a slow automatic barrage, though the explosion delay and the fizzle-in-water are still present. But that one change made a very meme-y build possible, though it requires some assembly with some hard-to-get bits.
- The Nightwave-exclusive mod Metamorphic Magazine increases the Gorgon's Magazine and Ammo Maximum by 90% each, allowing its ammo pool to reach tremendous levels - yes, it also gives the Gorgon a Petrify effect, though that's a minor benefit in the bigger picture.
- From there, you also need to get your hands on a Primary Plated Round Arcane - yes, the one from Citrine farming. This Arcane gives a percentile buff to damage for 10 seconds upon reloading, based upon how many rounds were reloaded into the weapon at once; the Gorgon with Metamorphic Magazine and either Tainted Mag or an appropriate Riven can reach a buff in the 500-600% range...
- Activating Incarnon Mode counts as a reload for the purposes of activating Primed Plated Round. With the addition of a couple of Fire Rate mods (I use Primed Shred and Speed Trigger), you can easily fit all twenty shots of Incarnon Mode into that ten-second window, during which they'll have an absurd damage multiplier. This is on top of whatever other damage/crit core you build into the weapon.
All of these pieces together create a funny kind of synergy - you use the basic Gorgon fire to douse grouped-up mobs (hopefully with Shred's Punch-Through letting you hit multiple rows), and the ones who don't get mowed down are actually petrified in place by Metamorphic Magazine, meaning you can easily line up the headshots you need to charge up Incarnon Mode. From there, you keep the pack locked down with regular Gorgon fire until your magazine runs dry, and then alt-fire and hose down as many enemies as you can in ten seconds. Rinse and repeat. This Prisma Gorgon Incarnon has held its own in Netracell and Steel Path Circulus in tests, and while there are definitely other weapons that can perform much better in those conditions, it's no slouch. It's awkward, expensive, needs some exotic and time-limited components, and probably isn't actually worth the effort to assemble, but it feels amazing once you get the rhythm down.
this synergy needs more attention
What I find funny is that, on paper, this is just the Lenz. It's a mandatory charged shot to fire a projectile with travel time which pulses, delivering status, before imploding for the bulk of its damage. The issue is that literally every tiny thing about it is Wrong and designed to make it worse.
- You don't seem able to hold a charge preemptively to release when you find a target, so the charge time feels worse
- The pulse deals heat damage instead of cold, which means it is borderline useless compared to 'makes the weapon work'
- The implosion for 'the bulk of its damage' isn't even that high in the end
- The radius on both of these things is barely like half the size of the Lenz's
- Instead of being a bow with low ammo cap but ammo mutation you gotta stop and use a Gorgon for a while every 20 shots
Utter cavalcade of needling problems sounds like it makes this one feel REALLY bad in practice, like geeze.

I was looking forward to this one at first, as when i read the description initially, i thought it was gonna be a full auto primer gun. Something similar in mechanics to the sporeothrix, but faster and heat based.
Some the incarnons this week need some love, and hopefully DE helps fix some of the weapons issues over time. Thanks for the helpful video MC!

Best way to buff this is if it didn't have a charge on the incarnon shots to just spray more like it was a full auto mortar kinda like the grattler.
It's great as a back scratcher, a walking stick or a toilet unclogger.
totally agreed what you said, its just weak, and very annoying in sp with the 1.2s delay explosion. With infested, have to basically shot around the feet to make sure it will explode and not miss the fast moving infested mobs .... I gave up.
What is better. Prisma or wraith gorgon for this?

Pretty disappointed, if i could tweak it, would make incarnion add small aoe on hit like braton does, change perk2 to add punch naturally, 3 perk to have increased fire rate and perk 4 to act like galva shot.
tbh i would trade exploding bullets for the duviri +fira rate with each shot, got it once with gorgon and was fun to empty my 300 magazine in seconds, let me have my minigun!
how doeas gorgon wraith perform compared to prisma?
Almost equal in power due to you getting more base status by default, and then higher stats in the incarnon choices
I hope they buff all five of this week’s incarnons at least a tiny bit. It seems like they all are a bit lackluster with some of them just being horrible for post-steel path. I could be totally wrong as I haven’t tried them myself yet, but every video I’ve watched on them has had some amount of disappointment in tone.
Honestly, I expected this incarnon from an incarnon Dera (when we get it). Doesn't make sense imo. I'd have far preferred a kuva gorgon. I'll still get it and use it with the MIGHTY SEER
Why use anything along with it when you've got the MIGHTY SEER?
Well, can just use it in normal mode... Sigh.
Maybe if they added a vortex effect that pulls enemies before exploding would justify having to charge each shot, even tho I would rather prefer to not have to charge at all.
Until then, my gorgon goes back to the "For not steel path missions" box

I doubt it'll ever come, considering that Gorgon is a Grineer manufactured weapon.

@@Kruppuchino For Tenno weapons, yes. For others... not so much. Unless they are hybrids I don't see Prime Grineer, Corpus or Infested weaponry happening.

Getting the wraith is a better choice imo. Not only does the prisma sound horrible, but you get more status and larger incarnon choices

@@barondigo8098 That's how all the incarnon adapters work, some of the boosts are different depending on which version of the weapon you choose.
Usually, the prime or other special version gets weaker buffs. Gorgon wraith gets 14% base crit on the final evolution for example.
@@Darthmufin Doesn't the wraith have a lower base crit, about 15% lower? Even if the crit buff is 14% you're still short of the prisma variant if that's the case. At that point why not take the prisma and get a little more base crit and just run a hunter munitions build in base mode instead?
@@sangheili3436 Yeah in most cases the prime is better than the other version even despite the lower buffs.
But i still prefer the wraith, less likely to get nerfed into the ground too since DE considers the prisma to be the best.
Week 2 incarnon is pretty much dissapointment
As a matter of fact ALL the new incarnons are trash. DE tried to be as cautious as they could not to sell OP weapons and be labelled as Pay2Win (which they still kind of are regardless considering you skip a huge amount of resource grind by purchasing the incarnon rather than gaining it through the Circuit), but the result is that half the concerned weapons are still much better WITHOUT the incarnon, MR fodder weapons are still MR fodder, and ALL of them feature anemic damage output and disgustingly painful gimmicks.
Those who paid plat for this junk should definitely demand an emergency buff hotfix.
