it is a fan game that has been built from the ground up using their own engine. A fucking amazing one at that, if they ever complete it I woulds say it is just as good as the genesis games. No other sonic fan game has ever even gotten close to that but these guys may pull it off
I think we all should send them these fan made game videos. You are right, if they only knew. Maybe just maybe, they would realize how much we all miss the way sonic used to be, before all this black knight secret rings warewolf crap. What I have seen on this FAN game, is incredible. If Sega came back with a Sonic game more like this ( doesn't necessarily need to be 2D or whatnot) I'm sure everyone would be impressed. They just need to get back to what sonic is really about.
I really hope they change the music for this zone back to the one in this demo. Have you heard the version over at the Nexus website? It sounds loud and overdone. Not clean like this one.
Honestly yeah it should've. Some of the nexus/retro sonic/XG zones could've been in it to even out the ratio of old to new zones, since there were more old zones than new. Maybe if mania 2 ever happens it could have all new zones and some of the zones from those games could be in it.

I got a new 2D Sonic game idea called "Sonic And The Lost Emerald" Wich is about that Eggman just found out that there is an 8th chaos emerald, however it was sealed away by the gods of Mobius, if someone would get his/her hands on the emerald, amazing, or very, so very bad things could happen, of course, the main mission is to stop eggman to get his hands on this 8th emerald...but what would happen if Sonic got his hands on it....? Sounds interesting? :3

I just wish that they could've done what they're doing with Sonic Generations a little sooner,which was taking the feedback from all of the previous Sonic games,such as Sonic Unleashed and Sonic 4 Ep 1,and using it to make a better Sonic game. Anyway,it's nice to see that SEGA's finally working on what could be the next best Sonic game since Sonic CD,Sonic 3 and Knuckles,SA2B,or Sonic Heroes.

The bosses one after the other seem a mite bit unfair. Shifting the first one as an Act 1 Boss (perhaps using Egg Robo, perhaps using 6 hits instead of 8) would make it more balanced, maybe?
You're right about ONE thing, graphhics aren't important but that doesn't mean a game has push a console to its limits.The simplest games can also be the funnest. Look at VVVVVV, it looks like commodore 64 game, its super short and its still fun. If soinc 4 was 16-bit it would felt more like a true sequel to sonic, (before you say anything, no I don't think megaman 9/10 should have been megaman 7/8, they were good but fell flat compared to the 8-bit title JMO.)

Pristine Palisade is my favourite song from Nexus. It just suits the stage so well.

Only two issues there:
1 - The engine itself is too slow. Sonic needs to be faster.
2 - The Zone music is too loud.
