Thank you for this. It was a great help.
Didn't find this until after I had bought the parts from E-Bay for £4, but with your help fixed the machine myself taking less than 1 hour

this is brilliant, knew about brushes, and thought it the culprit, but it was a lot easier on a hotpoint in the 90's......lol

Hi, My wife recently informed me that her wash was not as dry as before. The next thing was the next wash didn't rotate the drum at all. The drum appeared to rotate easily indicating a problem with the belt (broken?) After inspecting it this was intact although it appeared to be a bit on the slack side to me. I ran a wash and heard 'clicks' from the control panel indicating that switching was occurring but still no rotation. I've dropped the motor off (thanks for the excellent video on this) and removed the carbon brushes (thanks again for this very helpful tip) and mine are as short, if not shorter, than yours were. They were different lengths (the longest was shiny but the shorter one wasn't and you could see a copper coloured section on the end presumably there the carbon is attached to the wire). I hadn't access to a multimeter at the time to check I was getting power to the motor terminals which is my concern as I'd rather not buy a set of brushes if the fault lies elsewhere.
So, My question is. could the short carbon brushes be the cause of the fault? Thanks

To reset the error code I had to replace the EEPROM chip on the main PCB.
Look for a chip with 8 pins that has a number like ATMLH*** remove it and put a new one in place (buy AT24C08C from Farnell or Digikey).

For extra clarity, you might try reshooting this video with an extra light, because the features that you want to show us are being obscured by your shadow when you lean over the motor. We struggle to see the part that you are talking about.

I noticed after replacing the Carbon Brushes it makes a clicking noise when rotating the motor shaft manually is that normal? However, I still have the Error Code 10 on Model# WFR2460UC (11 Years Old) so either Carbon Brushes are installed backwards or it's the Drive Motor.

+msrockinrobin40 hi you should check armature for hi lugs if its ok then its just because the carbons are new and angle of brush not right yet they will bedin
