I wondered where you were too. Glad to hear your adventures ended well and y'all had a good time. Thanks for sharing your radio knowledge. Glad to see you back and well. Jack K5FIT
Adventures, indeed. I ran out of propane at "oh dark thirty" in the winter of 1970-71 living in a travel trailer in Sierra Vista, AZ. (Flag pole at Fort Huachuca is said to be a mile high.) I suited up, went out to the freezing early morning air, switched the propane valve to the "reserve," relit the furnace and thawed out. Next working day I rented a large cylinder and relegated both 5 gallon trailer tanks to reserve status. Glad you made it back and your tooth (or socket thereof) is all better. Blessings.
Mr. Casler,... You Sir, are one, well-loved individual, and a beloved NATIONAL TREASURE!! Please do take care of yourself! God Bless!...73's Ron, K6PAM
KE0OG is a secret agent, serving at the Queen's liberty, we must not expose his mysterious comings and goings. I am certain he was monitoring all of us, simultaneously over all bands. Glad to have the OG of all OGs back in the saddle again!!!
Glad to hear about the highlights of your excursions..and yes thirty some years back it would be a chuckle but us 'senior' members need a tid bit more TLC like a warm bed, hot java and more successful trips with less issues. Domedic used to make those heater and fridge boards..some parts are as high as a new unit. I see San Tan Valley or Flagstaff area in my future.. 73 friend
Like Mark Twain said when he saw his own obituary in the newspaper, "Reports of my demise have been greatly exaggerated". Glad to see you're up and at 'em once again. 73. WW5MB
Hey Dave this is kilo Jupiter for Zulu foxtrot Michael down in Central Florida just wondering if you're going to show up at the hamfest on Friday Saturday and Sunday this week would love to see you there kilo Jupiter for Zulu foxtrot Michael.
We are RVers wintering in a 5th wheel near Orlando. I am glad you survived your high adventure. My wife and I will volunteer to work Orlando HamCation next weekend. Your YTs have been so helpful to me. -Mike, KD2ZZA
High adventure is putting it mildly! And I can relate... many years ago, I used to have a class A, and I spent 2 weeks stuck in Golden, CO in an RV park in December... waiting for a replacement shift lever from Ford truck parts. It was so cold that the water in the dog's water dish froze... inside of the RV. Dave. if your rig has an Atwood furnace, keep an eye/ear on the blower motor starting to make noises, the motor bearings do not take kindly operating in freezing temperatures.... mine gave up the ghost a few weeks later. Glad you made it home safely.... 73 de KN6VMK
Saw you at the opening session Dave! I was in the big round blue chair and you had the "herd" of fans sitting in front of me that loved you! 73 - KF6IF
Your LP gas might not work because you've tripped your excess flow valve. Turn off all appliances that use gas. Turn off the service valve. Wait a minute. Open the service valve. See if the gas appliance works.
Glad to hear you're ok. What a trip. My wife and I go RVing each year. I've learned to watch the weather services for at least a week before we go and plan the trip around the weather. we're getting older now and summer/fall is the only time we go north anymore. My extremities are too used to the Florida temps and my wife slipped on some ice last trip and agreed emphatically with me to restrict our departures to warm weather only 😁.
Dave, I have missed your entertaining and enlightening talks. Perhaps, we should get you a spare propane tank To keep away the icicles. Be well, be well, and know joy (in warm weather)!
Glad you made it. Hurricane is the home of my other favorite you tuber, Matt's Off- Road recovery. Would have been a hoot if Matt had pulled you out. Looking forward to Orlando Hamcation in a few days. Be safe! 73s.
Very glad you are home and well. We all missed ya, OM. Take care and remember that high adventure often brings on high anxiety and cold feet. I think Mel Brooks sang a song about that, uh, the anxiety, not the cold feet! HI HI. AA7MO
How about "now that pandemic restrictions have eased" rather than "the pandemic is over". I assure you, it is NOT over, no matter how recklessly people are comfortable behaving now.
Wow! Hi adventure indeed! Sounds like you might have been a Boy Scout! Congratulations on surviving the winter FTX. Appreciate the update. 73, John - KK7JBZ
Thanks!
Glad your safe 📻
Sounds like quite the adventure! Glad you made it back safely.

Glad you are safe AND back home. I personally hate being cold! Thanks for telling your story. 73 kf0gpx
Sounds like you need to invest in a 6 wheel drive motorhome(custom built, of course) just for your wintertime adventures. 73. VE6HDH
