    I was one of the contest winners for Project 2012, and by sheer luck got the back outside left seat. The kink on that drop is the one moment in decades of riding that I felt actual FEAR on a coaster. For that brief second you feel like the train has come off the track and you are being flung to the ground. No other drop since has compared, and Hershey has probably the closest thing to a modern day Crystal Beach Cyclone in terms of intensity.

    I rode this ride back in 2015 when I hadn’t been to many parks before, though I loved roller coasters
    I went with my parents and when we rode this, my dad and I sat on the ends with no floor, and after that first drop I’d never felt so scared on a ride. I usually always go hands up, but that first drop and turn made me feel like I was legit gonna be thrown out of my restraints. My dad had the same feeling. We didn’t know if that was intentional or not because it was absolutely insane how far forward my body flew
    I wanna ride it again since I haven’t been back since, and now I’ll be prepared for that, my opinion might change on how much I like the ride, cuz the first time, I was just happy to have survived

Basically when its about the time where that feeling happens on the ride i tuck my legs under my seat to hold me so i dont get that feeling as much. hope this helped!

    Finally got out to Hershey Park for the first time on Friday and knocked this off of my bucket list. Luckily the restraints did not bother me at all, I was too in awe over the sheer relentlessness of this thing to even notice. I got 3 rides in, all back row (two left wing, and one right wing). The first drop is a total "oh sh**" moment! 10/10!

    I rode Skyrush for the first time today and got two rides on it. First I did it in the back row. The drop was insane, and some of those hills have great ejector. Unfortunately I did get thigh crushed on that first ride. I was on the right wing seat. It was pretty shaky too which I wasn’t expecting. I rode Skyrush later in the front row in the left side and aside from the drop, it was sooooo much better. It was smoother, I felt the forces more on those turns, and I didn’t get thigh crushed. Even with that amazing second ride, I don’t know if I can call it a 10/10 roller coaster because of that first ride I had on it. Quite literally the definition of a love it or hate it coaster.

    The restraints on Skyrush usually are good, but then other times it locks down like a vise. My 10th ride on Skyrush on my last visit to Hershey was excruciating but the first 9 were great. I think once it is fully warmed up and running fast it is more likely to ratchet down.

  • @spentron1
    @spentron1 2 года назад +2

    I actually felt something crack in my leg on the sudden airtime pop on Fahrenheit, never had that on Skyrush. Its restraints may not be ideal, but a lot of it is just the amount of ejective force (appears they found the limit). I hold on to bar towards the side as needed to control lift forces instead of the useless handholds.

    • @gametime2473
      @gametime2473 2 года назад

      When it decides to ratchet down, it is painful sitting on the brake run so no, it isn't the ejector force.

    • @spentron1
      @spentron1 2 года назад

      @@gametime2473 the ratcheting doesn't help, but it takes 20 seconds at least of sitting on the brake run for the pain to approach that of on the ride -- and I don't think you're touching the seat during -2g's no matter how much it ratchets. Plus my ride technique really does work, while on some other coasters it's more important to reduce ratcheting.
      I agree the ratcheting contributes to the overall impression, and when you get the pressure release on the brake run it's a big relief, but I don't think it increases the maximum pain point.

The first drop is mild and gives slight floater, the airtime hills are strong but you don’t leave your seat because of the lap bars. The turns aren’t particularly exciting, just kind of meandering around. And then we got to sit on the break run for 5 minutes.

    I always try to tell people who have not been on it this coaster tries to kill you especially on the back left seat. But I still love it more than all but about 15 in the United States.

    Sorry to be that guy. But I strongly dislike Skyrush, simply due to restraints. They destroy my legs as bad as T3.
    If this had Velocicoaster or Pantheon restraints, this would be a top 10 for sure.
    Hershey acknowledged it’s an issue, as that block zone before station they have begun releasing than a few inches so you can feel your legs again.

    I really want to like this coaster but something needs to be done with those restraints. I can't enjoy it when I'm bolted to my seat with the feeling like my femur bone is snapping in half.

      It might be how you ride it, or maybe dependent on body size, or just overall sensitivity. Everyone's different!

      @@CoasterStudios Having decent muscle on the thighs makes a huge difference too, the runners in my group could ride it all day while everyone else dealt with different degrees of uncomfortableness. Haven't been back since 2016 I think but id be curious to see what happens now that I'm in much better shape, I was definitely a bit sore after a few rides but nothing too bad.

      On ride filming is not allowed at hersheypark, this was filmed on a special media shoot before the park opened to the public

    Your quality has dropped so much, sorry to say this... we used to have alot of amazing reviews and now we only havr single take vids that don't require editing, it all started when you started smootching with sarah

    • @CoasterStudios
      @CoasterStudios  2 года назад +2

      I am sorry you feel the quality has dropped- but its probably not for the reason you think. Consider this: we are posting videos daily. Most youtubers don't do that, because it requires a lot of work. A LOT of work. Sarah and I are the each spending hours each day editing video content, and so many of the videos we make require more than one day to work on them, so what do we do? We post videos that are quicker to edit in between. Think of it like filler. It's either that, or we don't post anything that day at all, and we figured this is the much better option. There will still be plenty of reviews (including one tomorrow), they just sometimes come with gaps in between due to how busy we are.

    I prefer this ride when it's running slow because the restraints don't crush you thighs as bad
