I remember hearing that as a kid and thought it sounded so dumb, typical Kamina, but after he passed you could feel his presence in various moments of the anime as is his and his passing legitimately impacted them all making his silly quote so true that I think about it from time to time.
Kamina has so many of these "dont believe in yourself, believe in the me who believes in you" is the biggest one because when youre lacking confidence if you have people who believe in you you can find strength. Then its really powerful how he goes back to telling Simon he can believe in himself when Kamina knows that he's dying.
I really really love Kamina's character, and how he was the father simon never had. Yoko is a small reason why I loved this anime but I was sad that she had a minimal role in the second half besides the one episode she had all to herself, but even though she had a small role near the end the anime still had an amazing ending
No, she didn’t have a small role, every character except Simon had a small role in the second part. Yoko in the second part had a great and emotional meaning. Her episode with the kids it’s super deep and I love it how she becomes more mature and in the end she is the future of the next generation
Scamboli bro.. I keep coming back to this review. This is my favorite anime of all time, and I agree with all your points. Especially that it makes you feel. The power of story telling in this anime is something special. That'll motivate you, make you cry, laugh, feel anger and despair. But it's all a beautiful thing. Thank you for your review.
There are plenty worth talking about. RahXephon, VOTOMS, Mobile Suit Gundam before the franchise got shit, Space Runaway Ideon, Dougram. The list goes on.
The only people who say this are the kinds of people who've only seen a handful of mecha anime. And probably never looked past the surface. It's a take as bad as when boomers think "all anime is octopus hentai with schoolgirls"
Im at the point where ive just about watched all his videos. Ive maybe watched one or two animes hes recomended but his videos are so fucking funny I gotta watch them all
There are a few animes i will never forget - and Guren Lagann is definitely one of those. Even now, when watching some reviews and people talking about it, i get this... feeling... down my throat, chills of pure enjoyment and epicness this show was. With all the tears and one of the most perfect bittersweet endings ever 💚
I just finished watching the series and was literally feeling that empty feeling, looking for something Gurren Lagann related to watch to try and fill the void. You sir, delivered 👍
Absolutely epic anime. Everybody sleeps on this anime. But absolutely epic in every damn sense. Made me feel powerful, inspired, amazed and cry for the pain a fictional character is feeling. Can't ask for more
Yeah this is one of those animes that made me feel empty after I finished it. This show grows onto you in a strange way that I havent experienced in any other fictional work. Something about it´s epic but childish setting makes me feel like a kid again with all the hopes and ambitions I used to have but somehow lost along the way.

#1 Most underrated anime series of all time (in my opinion): Everything in the Mecha genre. I see what's going on, anime that easily attracts a mass audience has to be either isekai, ecchi, shonen, moe, slice of life or harem that last about 13 episodes or less to this day, but that's because most people in the fandom want a short, happy, sutile, and colorful series with cutesy, simple, strategy action sequences (if it's isekai) or cheesy, over the top, super hero style battles (if it's traditional shonen). But an anime series in the mecha genre is less likely to get the most attentions as fast as a finger-snap, let me explain: Super Robots (like this absolute masterpiece) are about humans piloting what I can describe as "mechanical supermen" with extraordinary powers and abilities engaging in epically explosive and immersively colorful battles to stop an evil alien tyrant or mythological overlord of darkness from causing chaos. It's a subgenre that can be criticised as "too outdated, exaggerated, childish cartoon-esque animation to sell toys with obnoxiously laughable characters and fight scenes". Real Robots are about political powers raging war against each other over a global problem for mankind in a distant future with the primary weapons for such warfare being the mechs themselves, where we experience a lot of character development, a more dramatic plot than the mostly comedic Super Robots, mature themes envolving the political governments and their military, and also the psychological views on nearly every character. This is probably the subgenre that gets the most unfair hate, with the average fandom complaining about its "f*cking edgy and annoying plot that nobody stands, boring speeches of stupid sh*t about death to society's criminals and presidents of resource solutions instead of robot battles to stop evil villains (which could often be criticised as "graphic, unhealthy, painful, and bleak bashes between characters that should be badass allies in their giant robot suits, resulting in useless bloodshed and side characters crying that only dettracts its younger viewers"), and the only emotion that characters feel is childish sadness and girly anger, so they can't laugh more than once for no goddamn reason and act more correspondingly to fan standards". I think the mecha genre deserves more relevance this time around, I mean, in the following decade there could be a mecha anime series that can become a trend on its own (especially a Super Robot series capable of innovating with fresh and new concepts).
Gurren Lagann is my favorite anime of all time and nothing could change that. Great video. I remember seeing it in 2009 with my friend, and it was just so good.
Scamboli's one of my favorite reviewers ever, but just when I thought I couldn't appreciate em more, that casual burp at 4:33 somehow elevated that endearment to insane heights for some reason lmao
So like i cane back to this vid looking for this comment after watching a lot of mecha (GUNBUSTER/DIEBUSTER, gundam, macross, patlabor, SSSS. Series, etc.) Gurren Lagann still tops my list and would be the first thing i recommend ppl like i watch it twice a month if my energy is low and need a pick me up Like the speeches in Gurren Lagann are unmached specifically for me when Simon gets over his grief and becomes his own man (the movier ver) makes me feel like i hit smelling salts like that is the true cure for depression
What made this my most favorite anime is because of how fun it was too watch, and goes through limits, maybe im just too old to enjoy as much as I did then thou some recent anime thou, some hit great points in me. But I dont think I can ever hit what ever ceiling gurrenlagann hit with me back then cuz any ceiling or limit that I thought it was gonna hit when I was watching, it always find a way to break-through expectation, some even quite literally.

As somebody who hates mecha anime and can never finish a single one, Gurren Lagann is good. Try it.
@@spice1710 one day
AnituberTV try it right now, or at least the first episode

Really happy btw can’t believe my favorite anituber is doing a video on my favorite show
Yoko is a small reason why I loved this anime but I was sad that she had a minimal role in the second half besides the one episode she had all to herself, but even though she had a small role near the end the anime still had an amazing ending
No, she didn’t have a small role, every character except Simon had a small role in the second part.
Yoko in the second part had a great and emotional meaning.
Her episode with the kids it’s super deep and I love it how she becomes more mature and in the end she is the future of the next generation
Scamboli: Gurren Lagann is the greatest mecha anime of all time
Also Scamboli: These are the 6 mecha anime I have seen
p.s. watch Gunbuster
I second him watching Gunbuster.
@@MACZ2021 i third him watching gunbuster

Scamboli bro.. I keep coming back to this review. This is my favorite anime of all time, and I agree with all your points. Especially that it makes you feel. The power of story telling in this anime is something special. That'll motivate you, make you cry, laugh, feel anger and despair. But it's all a beautiful thing. Thank you for your review.
great video
your writing is developing and developing
keep it up
can't wait for code Geass and death note review's
same. my top 2 faves.
Alternative title: The only mecha anime worth talking about
Not even lying I've been considering changing it to "The only mecha worth watching" wtf
There are plenty worth talking about. RahXephon, VOTOMS, Mobile Suit Gundam before the franchise got shit, Space Runaway Ideon, Dougram. The list goes on.
Only Lagan and geass
Watch more mech anime
The only people who say this are the kinds of people who've only seen a handful of mecha anime.
And probably never looked past the surface.
It's a take as bad as when boomers think "all anime is octopus hentai with schoolgirls"
I agree with the title. and kill la kill too
Man sometimes i sit back and watch all of scams older vids and this guy has never missed never
Im at the point where ive just about watched all his videos. Ive maybe watched one or two animes hes recomended but his videos are so fucking funny I gotta watch them all
@@lukesaylor6742 fr i agree. Theyre so fucking funny. But like his takes hes always like “this anime/manga gonna blow up” and then it does
You're channel single handedly has made me watch so many great anime's I want to thank you
There are a few animes i will never forget - and Guren Lagann is definitely one of those. Even now, when watching some reviews and people talking about it, i get this... feeling... down my throat, chills of pure enjoyment and epicness this show was. With all the tears and one of the most perfect bittersweet endings ever 💚
"Who the hell do you think I am!?" have a separate fan base.
I watch this show a month ago, it was literally my gateway anime and hasn’t been topped yet
Gurren lagen was there at my coming of age. It really influenced me a lot and I constantly use believe in the me that believes in u
Hi, really enjoyed this format 😎
I just finished watching the series and was literally feeling that empty feeling, looking for something Gurren Lagann related to watch to try and fill the void.
You sir, delivered 👍
Honestly - the inspiration from this anime is crazy from a psychological standpoint. It literally made me want to go pierce the heavens 😂
I loved it when I watched a couple years back, still can’t bring myself to rewatch tho as the ending broke me ;)
I heard the movies make the series feel more complete if that helps

I was today years old when I found out there were Gurren Lagann movies.....
@@ScamboliReviews any reliable way to watch them other than risky online box set purchase?

Absolutely epic anime. Everybody sleeps on this anime. But absolutely epic in every damn sense. Made me feel powerful, inspired, amazed and cry for the pain a fictional character is feeling. Can't ask for more
"one fur arru punch 1 million!"
Whenever you do impressions like that, It cracks me up
Yeah this is one of those animes that made me feel empty after I finished it. This show grows onto you in a strange way that I havent experienced in any other fictional work. Something about it´s epic but childish setting makes me feel like a kid again with all the hopes and ambitions I used to have but somehow lost along the way.
Ratatouille is my favorite mecha anime. Change my mind.
This anime makes you FEEL LIKE THE DRILL
This video was amazing it's why I left a sub in the first place and more keep it up man
This Gurren Lagann video is just what I needed today!
BELIEVE IN THE ME WHO BELIEVES IN THE YOU! SO BELIEVE IT.
"icing on the creampie" lol
"Don't believe in yourself. Believe in me! Believe in the Kamina that believes in you!"
Thank you for making this video, literally my favorite show out of hundreds
Genuinely one of my favorite animes, thanks for making a vid on it, even if I saw the video 2 yrs later
why would anyone be pissed. this title is completely accurate.
You'd be surprised
This man clearly hasn't watched Gundam.
is Iron Blooded Orphans good?
If you watched till the end, then you know every mecha I've ever seen. So yeah, I clearly have not 😎
@@Deviant69 very good. Not the best but still very good.
@SiriusBusiness personally I reccomend the 08th MS Team. It's more down to earth and shows the real sides of war.
@@Deviant69 IBO was teribble at worst and mid at best. People only like it because it looks cool on the outside, all style and zero substance. A better place to start would be 08thms or 00
#1 Most underrated anime series of all time (in my opinion): Everything in the Mecha genre.
But an anime series in the mecha genre is less likely to get the most attentions as fast as a finger-snap, let me explain:
Super Robots (like this absolute masterpiece) are about humans piloting what I can describe as "mechanical supermen" with extraordinary powers and abilities engaging in epically explosive and immersively colorful battles to stop an evil alien tyrant or mythological overlord of darkness from causing chaos.
That shit made me cry a lot. Even though it has a lot of flaws it is still one the best if not best anime that I watched.
That was disgusting
"I don't watch mecha but I'm an expert because I watched two or three shows"
This anime, and Birdie, had me messed up back then.
So like i cane back to this vid looking for this comment after watching a lot of mecha (GUNBUSTER/DIEBUSTER, gundam, macross, patlabor, SSSS. Series, etc.) Gurren Lagann still tops my list and would be the first thing i recommend ppl like i watch it twice a month if my energy is low and need a pick me up
Like the speeches in Gurren Lagann are unmached specifically for me when Simon gets over his grief and becomes his own man (the movier ver) makes me feel like i hit smelling salts like that is the true cure for depression
You reminded me of this anime and it’s quickly pouring salt and bleach in my still fresh wounds. It’s been a few years but still.
Code geass even though it’s less centered around mecha.
SPOILER
we all feel empty for what happened in ep 8
i will never forgive the japanese...
Oh yeah baby now it's time for me to REEEE about how code geass is the true best mecha anime
or you know... not
more like WRRYYY
What made this my most favorite anime is because of how fun it was too watch, and goes through limits, maybe im just too old to enjoy as much as I did then thou some recent anime thou, some hit great points in me. But I dont think I can ever hit what ever ceiling gurrenlagann hit with me back then cuz any ceiling or limit that I thought it was gonna hit when I was watching, it always find a way to break-through expectation, some even quite literally.
Crazy that I’m just rewatching it now amazed at how good it is and trying to convince my friends to watch and you release this video :D
