How to remove the door off the LG WT1101CW top loading washer. Doing so allows cleaning behind the door. Only tools needed are a pick and a Phillips screwdriver.
I DID IT!!! the top is on. the original had broken at the plastic hinge... we ordered a replacement in April .. today is mid August and I ( 78 yr old woman ) decided enough is enough I was going to put on the top. . cfldriven you got me through it. Even the nasty screw replacements. A million thank yous for your clear, calm and effective help.
I too have a broken plastic hinge on my LG -- this video nicely explains how to take the lid off -- but how do those plastic hinges that hold the lid in place come out?
Got this from PartsDr.com Lift the lid, then remove the plates on the left and right side of the lid to access the screws that will allow you to remove the left and right hinges and remove the lid. Then remove two screws located on the top, towards the front of the machine, then remove two screws towards the top of the back of the machine. Lift the top of the washer up to gain access to two screws that secure this hinge. Now pull the plastic hinge straight up to remove it. Push the new hinge in place and install the two screws that secure the hinge.
YOU SAVED ME OVER $300.00 !!! I would have never figured out how to get those hinges out - thanks to your video, you made it easy! An appliance repair company wanted $455 to replace the lid - so I found the part myself, for $50 less than the repair company was gonna charge me - the lid cost about $150 - and replacing the lid, thanks to your help, took about 15 minutes at the most and it's all done. THANKS VERY MUCH !!!
do you have any idea how to remove the rear cover behind the lid. The one with the 2 labels on it. I removed the two screws in the back but it wont come loose. any ideas?
@@cfldriven Thank you soooo much for this helpful tip on removing the rear cover panel! I am replacing the water inlet valve, and could not for the life of me find a video or get help figuring out how to remove the panel. I knew it couldn't be hard. You are a sanity saver!!! Many thanks!!
Looking at the video again, it was so gross. LG should have made cleaning it much easier. We now have front loaders so that no loader an issue for us. Still glad the video helped you out. Thanks for watching.
Gerald Donaldson, sorry to hear you had a bad viewing experience. I have no control over the number and length of any RUclips commercials that may precede the video. In my experience most offer a skip function in the lower right corner of frame or are very short. Sometimes hitting F5 will refresh and eliminate the commercial. Thank you for attempting to watch.
My LG washing machine's top load door is creating noise when i open, i try after watching your video but the right side lid is not opening its getting stuck like too much corroded
Great video!!! I have a similar washing machine, and recently one of the lid hinge broke… do you have any tutorial on how to remove the hinge? I would really appreciate any help before I try to dismantle the appliance myself without any idea on how to proceed…
Sorry I don't and no longer have access to the machine. As I recall it just a matter of removing screws. I found this video ruclips.net/video/v-KSMx7eHHo/видео.html that might help and this one charges a fee www.appliancevideo.com/premium/lg-wt1001cw-washer-lid-is-hard-to-open-damper-assembly-r/ Best of luck
Probably under front right side of lid deck. According to LG: A dE error code indicates that the washer door was unable to lock. Try reset on washing machine by 1) Turning off power 2) unplug wash from outlet 3)With power disabled, press and hold the START/PAUSE button for 5 seconds 4) Plug washer back in and close door firmly 5)Select any cycle. The door should lock and cycle should begin without any error code. If cycle doesn't start and dE code appears service is required. Might also try a strong magnet near the sensor, since it is magnetic sensing. Hope this helps.
I have never done that, but this video shoes how to remove the control panal ruclips.net/video/XFvTzKO3iJU/видео.html and this one should help you disassemble the top. www.manualslib.com/manual/1070821/Lg-Wt1201c-Series.html?page=20 Hope these help you have success.
I have the same model. My washer indicates that the door is open. I am trying to find the magnet in the door that aligns with the other magnet on the machine. do you have any idea?
This video is really helpful. My hinge broke I just ordered a new one. How about the Elephant in the room. I get a UE code on almost every load of laundry. I have tried everything. In the year 2020 this should not be happening. Any idea on what I could do?
Have you tried leveling the washer? Our installers just plopped it down and never checked it. Should be level front to back, side to side and diagonally. Thanks for writing.
I wanted to say thank you for this video. I have a similar LG washer and had quite a lot of Oxyclean stuck in that hinge area. You made it easy to fix and now my washer feels brand new!

I ordered the hinges and will try to do the same. Where are the screws located at the front of the machine? Are they under the tabs? Does the whole control panel have to lift up as well? Just being cautious. Thanks!

How do you replace
the LG Hinge housing, part number MEF62462103. Mine broke in half.

Once the screws are out just flex (kinda bow it out) the panel and it will come off.

Thanks for this video. I need to go one more step as the hinge on the right has broken. Do you know what I have to do to replace the hinge ?
Dennis I no longer have that washer but I would check out www.partselect.com as they tend to have diagrams showing how it comes together. Best wishes.
Thank you so much! Perfect instructions. Was able to save a technician charge by using this information and getting broken parts via amazon.
Glad to hear it helped with your LG. Thanks for the feedback and for watching.

My LG washing machine's top load door is creating noise when i open, i try after watching your video but the right side lid is not opening its getting stuck like too much corroded
Perhaps some penetrating oil would help it free up from the corrosion.
Do you happen to know a part number for the lid? The glass in mine shattered and I’m having issues finding the correct part number.
Part number for lid assembly: AFG73029705 It may no longer be available, but check locally in case repair shop has one laying about.

Our door lid cracked and broke off from the hinges and had to replace it. Thank you for the video
Martin, good to hear this video helped keep your machine running. Thanks for the view.
Has anyone had issues with there smart closing door not working anymore? Mine just slams down now!
Bummer sounds like the dampening units have gone bad. If you're handy its diy, but if not then a service call.
Thanks for watching.
Thank you. That looks easy enough
Most repairs are about breaking it down to the simple components and task. Thanks for watching and writing in.
Do you know where the door lid lock is located? I am getting DL error code.
