      @@marytudor-iw2dw I doubt it. Margaery had a firm goal to become queen for very different reasons than Cersei. It's partly speculation on my half as I've never watched GoT past s4, but I've studied Margaery for years. I even did two papers over her manipulation and tactics.
      Having said that, Margaery would've manipulated Joffrey until the bone, he was literally in her clutches the entire time. Her manipulations stem from the core of her people, and Innocents. I'm not saying she's perfect and that ALL her motives are pure, but Margaery turning into Cersei just because she sits the throne as queen is a bit of a ridiculous statement in my view. Margaery, again, has an extremely firm view on where she wants to take Westeros to in the future. That future doesn't include allowing anyone around her to equally manipulate her views into brainwashing and destroying her character, that would be awful writing for a character whose THIS stubborn.

      The main reason that she treated Margaery that way was because when Cersei was younger, she was told that she would meet her end by the hands of a younger, more beautiful queen, so she remains suspicious of anyone who would try to take her place. One of the most important parts of Cersei's prophecy is that she will be replaced by one younger and prettier than herself. It's why she never even tries with the women in her life. First Sansa, then Margaery, then Danaerys, she was always paranoid about who it might be

    • @adw6894
      @adw6894 4 месяца назад +8

      She didn't care about Sansa actually, Sansa is just a little bird in her eyes, she's not scared of Sansa. And she fights with a lot of rivals include men, not only women, especially Tyroin.

    • @adw6894
      @adw6894 4 месяца назад +4

      And that prophecy was wrong, actually there's no one replaced her Queen title. Dany was killed, Sansa only can stay in the North. There's no queen after her.

    • @MothSalesman
      @MothSalesman 3 месяца назад +15

      @@adw6894 technically the wording of the prophecy is "You will be queen, for a time... until there comes another, younger and more beautiful, to cast you down and take all that you hold dear." -- Replaced is never used. So the prophecy is accurate. Dany is younger, more beautiful, and does indeed end Cersei' reign and kill the only things left that cersei loves her power and her brother Jamie. Even the "And when your tears have drowned you, the Valonqar shall wrap his hands about your pale white throat and choke the life from you." is accurate if you look at it loosely. She does have the life choked out of her (by the stones) and jamie (younger twin) does have his hands near her neck (to comfort her) as they get crushed.

Maybe because she is her direct adversary in her quest to become "THE Queen", maybe it's because Cersei displayed her hatred of her from the day they met, maybe it's because Cersei would never do something for the poor (though I don't think Margaery truly cared for them either)

    Margaery was antagonising Cersei and she caused the whole mess in Season 5. Cersei even offered an olive branch to Margaery and what does Margaery do? Margaery mocks her using her own son. Margaery was honestly asking for trouble. Margaery was a Prancing Horse who wished to compete with a mother lioness.
    Cersei is tenfold more beautiful (in my opinion)than Margaery, I can’t understand why people don’t see Cersei’s beauty. Margaery has curves but Cersei has everything. Margaery kills you while you sleep, Cersei kills you in a night of passion. I choose Cersei. Their respective personalities are not that different.
    They aren’t actually so different from each other as one might expect. Margaery simply hides her emotions better. She doesn’t get frustrated as easily as Cersei.
    And a Prancing Horse is a Ferrari reference because I had to.

      I like to think that Cersei didn’t mean the thing about strangling in sleep and that she was simply frustrated. She was probably emotional. Then again, I try too hard to see the good in people. However, someone once said something similar so I won’t excuse Cersei’s actions.
      The food, I can’t excuse that. That was a political manoeuvre but it was an evil one. Margaery also did it as politics but it was more positive karma.
      I don’t think they could have been friends because they were in each other’s way. The only way they could tolerate each other would have been if Tommen sat down with them and explained there is space for both of them.
      I understand Cersei is disliked but I can understand why she felt threatened, not saying it is right but I try to see inside the minds of people.

      @@theautomator8372 I did say that someone once threatened me with the same thing and I didn’t like it. But I didn’t have to actively work or live with that person.However, we have to understand that the dislike didn’t start there, Cersei disliked Margaery long before that conversation took place. Cersei’s words were a catalyst which caused them to dislike each other even more. Probably the point of no return.
      And I did say that Margaery was doing it for good karma which is a compliment. And I also said that it was a mean move from Cersei.
      Cersei does care for one thing though, her children and I understand why she took offence at Margaery’s words. Were the words deserved? Probably. However it was the truce offering from Cersei. Did Margaery mean to insult her? I don’t know. I understand that she wanted revenge.
      I mean, I am trying to be neutral here, though subconscious bias can creep in.
      They are like politicians on completely opposite sides of the spectrum, working together is always challenging when they want the same thing. But they can get along personally.
      I think if they had a mediator like Tommen who could work them through their differences, they could work together. To clear the air over a cup of wine or tea. Away from court, away from the hustle.
      They both did things which upset the other which seem inconsequential but it led to something more.
      I am not blaming one over the other, both of them were to blame. And that is the truth, Margaery might not have meant harm but sometimes people take things the wrong way.
      It is a shame they couldn’t be friends, they would be powerful because they are opposite personalities.
      Perhaps I am trying too hard to be neutral.

    I always kind of feel that Cercei would have been like Margaery if she had some type of mother figure in her life. Margaery had Lady Olenna to guide her in womanhood while Cercei had nothing but men surrounding her.
