your videos have reminded me of how much i like music. Like it sounds weird but I played music for like 10-12 years and for the past few i just haven't touched any instruments. So i'm redoing my bass (repainting it so its way more badass and replacing a few bits) and I'm gonna get back to it! You've also reminded me of bands I haven't even thought about in years that I used to be super into, so thanks.

What did I say (or wrote)… Austin was on fire, eyes lit and a mad grin on his face. You two are a hilarious couple, enjoyable to watch these reactions and Austin being a musician adds a nice little spice in the usual Alex-soup :-) This made my day, and propably the whole next week. And what an incredible song, still, after 100+ listens.

i'd say that's the first album that i've heard which is completely flawless.
the title track for the album is absolutely awe-inspiring and builds into a definite banger of a song
Hell of am album. Matriarch, Shadow Guide, Apex, Awakening... Every song is a killer. My least favourite one is cleanse the bloodline and even that one is good. Just not as awesome as the others.

Absolutely agree! The whole album is an incredible display of musicianship. One of the few near-perfect albums I've ever heard.
This particular song by Unleash the Archers should be the benchmark of ALL future and current metal bands.

Searching for something, that's new to the both of You, I'd say, 'ICED EARTH - BLACK FLAG' or '.. - CLEAR THE WAY' (Power Metal), 'MANOWAR - THE POWER OF THY SWORD' (Epic Metal) or 'AMARANTHE - HUNGER' (Melodic Metal Core? With 3 different vocal styles) !!!!
I don’t get chills very often at all, but every time I hear Brittney’s powerful vocals, I get goosebumps. She’s an immensely talented vocalist, definitely in the top 5 female vocalists in metal right now. I’d recommend Tonight We Ride or General of the Dark Army by them as well. Great video as always, Austin is hilarious. Great reaction guys \m/
Its nice having Austin in the videos because hes been a musician so he can weigh in and teach Alex things about playing music
Just to note, the drummer does a LL-RR type of double bass rather than the normal LRLR. So double hitting each foot, rather than just alternating one to the other. And it's not a heel-toe technique. Impressive work and I'm sure it helps with those interesting patterns he uses later.

I remember playing a show with them in 2012 at the starlight room in edmonton AB. Great band live, great people as well, and not very surprising that they made it as far as they have. its wild how far they've come in 6 years. i mean, they were somewhat big when i played with them, as they came from Vancouver to play with us. but damn, they have come a lot further.

I love this song. Anytime I have a friend that tells me metal is just noise for the sake of noise I point them to this video. It's a clinic on the level of skill required.
DO NIGHTWISH TOGETHER! The Poet And The Pendulum if you want a long, diverse and emotional piece, or Master Passion Greed if you wanna go heavy (either way you should react to both at some point)
Edit: Also about Trivium: It's actually difficult to fit them into a single genre these days. They've gone from metalcore to thrash to melodic death metal and so on. I will agree that metalcore's probably the one they've done most.

I can believe that you recomended warriors of the world, this album is the biggining of the fall of Manowar, if you like Manowar and not recommend kings of metal, hail to England or Louder than hell you dont know the meanining of Manowar and you dont know their career. With all my respect, warriors of the world was the first fucking shit in their discography, i was a great fan but since that album the people dont want know nothing about Manowar.

Her "ooooaaaaaaa" in the beginning makes me think of Year of the Phoenix by Pyramaze. She has such a powerful voice, I love those types of vocals.

The reason they look so "calm" is because each musician is recorded solo doing their individual parts (calm look), then they filmed the whole band playing together. Part of the reason they do the constant camera switch up, so its easier to edit.

Actually if you pay close attention he is playing double strokes with each foot instead of a steady rhythm. So two notes with the right then two with the left back and forth so it sounds like one steady beat. I've been a musician pretty much my entire life and am a drummer of 36 years and i can tell you they are killing it on another level.

Drummer is actually is actually doing double strokes with each foot rather than straight 16ths or 32nds which gives it a bit more of a galloping sound.

Hey Alex and Austin. You really needs to listen to In Flames - The quiet place. This is a song that I can't help myself but need to play some "air-drums" to. If I don't then I do some "air-guitarr" riffing. It's a great song that are both emotional and intense at the same time. Filled with powerful hits. If this song doesn't get Austin to want to play drums I don't think any song will. And as I can find you have not reacted to this song yourself so it would be a pleasant time for you both, I'm sure.
