They opted to take a disadvantageous bot matchup in theory because the overall draft was still better for them and they trusted their bot..
big difference is geng took karma with it which swings the lane into their favor, biofrosts TERRIBLE champion pool is a HUGE issue that they have not fixed at all.
They picked RULER's Ezreal into Senna. Thats a huge difference
The problem with NA is that everyone plays like they are trying to be the standout carry in a SoloQ game, instead of working as a team and trying to capitalize on strengths and weaknesses. Maybe 2021 will bring better results, but only if they learn lessons and stop trying to be the star of their team. Not all of them play like this, but the majority do and that will always play against you on the world stage.

i've been saying for a while now that i hate the way bio plays
as a support main, albeit not high elo, he does not bring what a support needs to have on an international stage.
he seems the most NPC among the supports of the 4 top teams in NA.
people will argue he works well with doublelift, but players should be adaptable. pro players shouldn't only find some success with certain players.

DL have been an ignorant for many years now and his ego holds him back more then anything, he is a NA superstar player that only shine in regional ground (where the skill level is one of the lowest atm)
DL interviews were dogshit. he also didn't say anything about himself and said top cant win lane. so his whole analysis was that top carried in NA and now he can't internationally so he can't see any other problems 🙃

Sett vs Zilean is super one sided for the Sett, that lane is such a pain in the ass to deal with as Zilean. He just gets free pressure to push you off the wave with his Q/E, by the time you're able to slow him he can already grab you. BDD played that lane perfectly, I don't think it's fully on Bjerg's Zilean being bad, it's just that he counter-picked himself. It does way better into Lucian or assassins than it does tanks since you have literally zero damage pressure on the tanks whereas a single bomb would do a good chunk to Lucian or Akali.

Just curious, what is the ping like over in the LA area? I always hear about pros complaining about high ping and I never deal with anything over 30.
60-70 ping, it's acc insane. Ppl say LCS should move to Chicago (where the servers are) but the teams have built facilities in LA that cost millions. So maybe make or move server to LA.
It used to be around 10-15 in LA before the server move. It was just a bad idea to move it.
In the last 5 years, TSM has either relied on prioritizing counter jungling enemy blue buff with map splits and top lane invades, or sitting around waiting for 35 minute death timers so they can rely on "better fingers" when you can't mid-gap the game.
There's zero logical counterargument that TSM is an intelligent team.
I like that waiting for 35 minute death timers line. I always would just say they just wait to coin flip lategame but im gonna steal this one.
Tsm need to work on everything from the ground up (draft, macro, obejective prio with roaming and overall a team synergy) and replace the buttom lane with new young players rathet then 2 washed up vets with no success outside of NA, might aswell start to find a better coach.
They expect Bjergsen to carry. Every Worlds they blame another teammate not realizing that mid and jungle are the most impactful lanes throughout all worlds. He is too much of a passive/kda player and against teams that know when to pull the trigger TSM fumbles every single time. Not to put all on him but we got so many different comps with the team revolving around him through the years and TSM never had a succes at Worlds.
Let's be honest, doblelift was the worst out of the 5 in TSM, most of the game he didn't even had a kill or assist, always getting caught in a bad spot.

I watched a segment from hotline league today and mark z showed a clip of a tower dive from one of tsms games at worlds. He summed it up perfectly. NA has no killer instinct. We need to be more aggressive and willing to trade kills and stuff like lpl teams are.
You have had aggressive players in the past. They all got turned into ward bots. Every last one of them. Then they leave and join other teams and what do you know? They’re actually good?? Crazy
Yeah, seemed to work out for TL on their 2nd day, alas they ramped up too late. Shame they didn't get group C, they had a better chance than TSM of making it out.

Oke but even than. He has 0 pressure from his bot lane. Biofrost is just straight up bad. Dubblelift hasnt had any impact in any games they had played. Spica is doing pretty well for them but he isnt able to keep his lead because there is always someone losing so badly on his team or they are winning but they arent doing anything with the lead. Bb is a coinflip but he is and will always be a coinflip. All games at worlds for TSM are going the exact same way. Or they win early by a small amount and they wont do anything with it and lose. Or they lose early and they will be giving everything away without doing anything and lose. Or they get behind and fight over stuff they shouldnt fight over and get even further behind. Its sad that they got to be in this group really. Because TL and Flyquest are stepping up their game at least a bit at worlds and they didnt have a real chance getting out of their groups.

They should get rid of mid/bot/support and find new ones, i really want to see a version of TSM without Bjergsen just to see if they really play passive like this because of him or if there's another reason. Imo the problem with having Bjerg is that he's always at 7 or at his absolute best 8 but never peaks at 10 like Rookie for example, you will never see him go below 7 but because he never peaks you really can't depend on him to carry internationally, unfortunately that is good enough to win NA so why change him?
The thing is, if you have ever watched LCS (I'm an EU fan but I do that sometimes), you know they have no one better than Bjergsen and DL in mid bot. Cause NA is out of young talents, if they totally change their lineup as you said, there's no way they win LCS next year. Except if they import from LEC/LCK/LPL, but EU players would only come for financal reasons and would loose their individual lvl because of the sadness of NA soloq, and I don't think Korean and Chinese players are interested by the LCS. They're all young and want to proove themselves on a meaningfull stage.

First off, there's always a possibility for any team to win worlds. BUT if you expected TSM to win worlds, you're out of your mind. Even in the lcs, they looked like the weaker team when it came to macro and map movement. This roster needs more time together. Of course they should still give it their all, and improve, but the expectation should be to come back stronger next year.
Everyone in NA knows what to do to fix the problems to make us a more internationally competitive region. Nobody is doing it though 😕
LS's comments echo what I've been saying.. I think the problem is mostly Parth. Whatever he's doing behind the scenes, lets them win in NA, even dominate at times.. but it's just cause their player talent is individually higher than a lot of teams, or the enemy team has equally bad coaching/drafts. That's why they often get off to slow starts, because the players have a handicap and need time to mesh together themselves. Meanwhile, in stronger regions, you'll see new teams get off to hot starts often, because they have stronger coaching.
That's the only consistent, other than Bjerg, that TSM has had throughout all these years and they constantly perform horribly at Worlds. Now that Bjerg is retiring, maybe he'll fix whatever Parth is doing wrong.
My one and only thought is if they can fuck up NA, and not pass groups this year. They can fuvk up NA again next year and get out of groups next year. And lc become the next coach

I've clamored for Parth to be removed from the coaching staff for years. LS said it best, their approach is fundamentally bad. It seems they never learn from their mistakes, whether that be long term issues or reviewing a vod, nothing comes out of it.

I agree bjerg is great, but imo he has been the biggest under performer on tsm at worlds. I get that his team is not setting him up for success... but thats tsms playstyle, focus top and bot and let bjerg win lane and roam. I get that doesn't translate to worlds well, but he needed to then make an adjustment to his game or prep and he hasn't done that

I'm not too sad, to be honest. TSM shit the bed but I expected them to. I agreed wholeheartedly with Jensen's assessment of TSM. TL, despite not getting out of groups, proved their worth, IMO.
It took them forever to finally come around and start showing some life but they went like 4-1 in Play-In's and they beat G2, Suning, and Machi pretty handedly when they got decent drafts.
FlyQuest also showed some life in World's as well, even though it was too little too late, same as TL.
At least they proved they could be competitive and didn't look like complete ass clowns like TSM.
I love Bjergsen and I hope him the best but there's just no helping TSM at this point. They seemingly can't find a roster of players capable of being competitive at the highest level to play around him and it's frustrating when you think of ( at least by word of mouth of everyone who's had interactions with him ) how great of a person and team-mate Bjergsen is and has been.
He deserves better after all the hard work he's put into building up TSM and remaining loyal all these years.
The stars just won't align for him, unfortunately.
Andy, if you're reading this, stop overpaying for Doublelift. Free up your import slots and steal FBI/Huhi from GG. You aren't going to find a more disgusting bot lane duo anywhere on the market.
Its not just TSM its also bjergs problem. Think of it in a new light or perspective. Imagine you are an up and coming rookie top laner. You smash lane in solo que. The meta has shifted to super carry top laners like jax and camile and its all skill match ups and you are consistently winning the skill match up against everyone in NA solo que. You get picked up for a pro team that has a veteran shotcaller but hes super OG. He thinks the game is played by farming for 40 minutes, never taking fights and having one big teamfight for baron there. Now you the rookie think this is ridiculous way to play so you bring up your concern and ask to be played around and given some resources around specific timings so you can establish safely split push pressure. Your veteran tells you your wrong, you have no expierence and do not understand the game. Okay so you bring it up to the coach. He tells you that we have won with a style that works. Okay what can you do? You go to the GM of the team surely they see the bigger picture and can help you. Wait shes dating a player who agrees with the shot caller. You no longer have any options. Especially when you considee the shot caller is now a partial owner having even more control. Even though new blood keeps rotating in and around bjerg he keeps deciding how the game will be played. Now whos wrong here? Every single top and jungle player TSM has had? Or bjerg? The only consistent factor is bjerg. His junglers have gone to other teams and been super stars and be relevant. Szenskeran on c9, amazing in europe has done well, even passive santorin has found new blood in NA. I almost guarentee that bjerg leaving TSM would be beneficial to both groups. The only bad thing anout leaving is the branding and money they make off of him.

Picks Syndra, farms entire game while his team loses every teamfight without his presence. Moves out of lane exactly once.
Picks LeBlanc, misses several critical skillshots and gives up at least two free kills that he should have taken. Only two weak ganks, spends the rest of the game getting out-csed by Orianna.

He's such an oppressive presence in NA then I feel like there's some wet noodle shit going on when it comes to worlds. FLY and TL, two teams which he routinely tears up, had better performances out of their mids and were far more willing to take fights than TSM was.

It just can't be true that we need a 5 man team where 4 of them are/were imports at one time. We have to go into some kind of "rebuilding year" like traditional sports do and look into some of this native talent and give them a shot somewhere. It just doesn't make any sense.
Maybe one of the reasons lcs stagnates is they stack established better known veterans instead of developing newer talent. Also both Jensen and POE have performed better than bjerg has in every worlds (and bjergs had much more runs than either, at 5)
