I wish my Mom had leaned into this approach a bit. She was talented but would get stuck. She always talked about the Milan crew what seems liked 20 years ago in AZ. She passed recently, I have some of her paintings, paints, tools and even finished one, crudely, but still finished it. RIP Mom. Love you.
Dad sends you and your brother to discover a artist, and on this journey you did discover the artist it was you, why your dad teared up. ( Truely amazing it was meant to be )
Wonderful video, i love the information you put out here. I am happy today because it's raining here. Im going to go out and practice your teachings. Thank you very much for the classes and tips. my takeaway is that I should make quality and timeless art that will hold its value and appreciate enough to cover the expenses of the secondary market. Big thanks to Gabby Chacon who buys my artworks. I've had much better sales since I stopped using galleries. It makes my work more affordable and accessible.
I’m so glad sometime last year I came across her in the studio where I draw sometimes. Artist don't work for tech companies. Start with selling your arts either as Nft’s or Etsy, learn how to sell.
If you're in Art without making profit out of it someway...idk what to tell you. My advice to everyone is this: if you want to grow big this year especially in your finances. Be willing to explore and meet new people. Drawing is great but taking risks puts you on a pedestal where you wouldnt have to worry about your finances. Thanks to Gabby Chacon, my bank account is screaming sell more of your artwork lol. My pocket is doing really great and im proud of the decisions i made early this year.
Thank you for the reminder. I'm wanting to become an artist out of a really dark time in my life. You're program is changing my life. Thank you so much
Thank you for being so grounded, authentic and pragmatic. I too found Betty Edwards at a young age via her book. It was both confirmation and fascination. Creativity and wholeness of mind became the core of my teaching art and dance. Now I create for me and am enjoying the journey. I am glad I found your channel!
Thank you. I can't express how I feel about your story, the way you told it. You deserve the joy you have in art. I, myself, have worked on my art all my life and drew almost every day of my childhood. So your sudden epiphany because of Betty Edward's art exercise is just so moving. I can actually feel with you that moment when the world opened up for you. Your parents are great people; with no art history themselves they believed in you!
Always LOVE to hear your life experiences, Elli. I actually also have tears in my eyes, although I've heard your Father's recognition several times before. You're an INSPIRATION!*!*❤
Loved this Elli, just like you when you were a child I loved art, spent every chance i had in the art room, loved the smell of the pencils, chalk, love colour ( you can tell I'm British with the spelling!) I lost my way a little, doing less and less art over the years but recently, after discovering your channel have felt totally inspired by you and your family. Every video just answers my questions, you really are an inspiration. I'm just starting to get back into painting, gathering materiala and information before i get going. Your paintings are so beautiful, thanks for sharing your knowledge.
Beautiful story, Elli. I love hearing your story. I read your book last spring and started the Mastery Program. I am on a slow path of study but I am dedicated to continue the unfolding of this gift of art to heal the world, starting with myself an dthose directly touched by my art. Iam so glad Betty Edwards came and turned on your right brain at such a formative time and that you have devoted your life to your passionate WHY!
Thanks Elli for sharing more of your journey. I have just found Betty Edwards 1999 edition of 'Drawing on the right side of the brain' and am enjoying it and looking forward to having an aha moment as well! I am also doing your Mastery program and learning so much! Thanks again for continuing to encourage and empower artists from all over the world.
Thank you so much for the video. I still don’t know the why. Making art is a strong feeling. Also teaching. My dad was also a painter, but not professional, and when I showed him a painting with sheep’s , one walked away. The black one. I got only criticism The sheep that walks away is to dark because it is further away. So that must be lighter. That is in my head 🙈 Dad, that am I, that is waking away. I felt as the black sheep. I could see your story with a dad who get tears in his eyes because you made this painting. So moving for me.
Thanks for watching! I’m so glad this video moved you. It sad when our parents give us criticism that is hurtful. Paint what you want to paint and what is in your heart!
