We have a 2020 EX Premium. We blacked out the trim with a vinyl wrap and powder coated the wheel satin black as soon as we got it. We love this vehicle.
I drove that one last night and I was really impressed, it gives you just what you need, very confortable, and the sound system is awesome. Agreed with everything you said Chris.
Kia did a great job with this. Easy to see why people love them. Personally, the enthusiast in me might pull me a little more towards a CX-9, but this would be right behind it as my runner-up pick.
My family almost got a Mazda CX-9, but as we were shopping for cars, we discovered the Kia Sorento from a family friend. She had a slightly older version, but we thought it was a better size for us after giving it a quick look, so we wanted to take a better look. Then we find that the Kia Sorento got a brand new redesign for 2021, and man it was awesome test driving the thing. I had no idea that a family SUV could be this epic. Then we found out there's a hybrid version, which definitely convinced us into buying it more than ever (we were already sold on the fact it had a panoramic roof option). Thus, our family ends up with a 2021 Kia Sorento Hybrid EX. It's no Telluride, but it gets the job done for us nicely. The more we're in that car, the more we end up loving it. 30+ MPG, 3 row SUV, panoramic roof, etc. And it's super nice for an EX model. The CX-9 was a decent second choice, that's been known to be reliable, but our family felt we'd have a better time in the Kia Sorento (and it showed during the test drives of both brands). Each have their pros and cons, of course. I know I'm referring to the Sorento and not the Telluride, but it's the same brand w/ almost the same features - except the Sorento is a bit smaller than the Telluride/CX-9.
My next car would a Sorento hybrid or Carnival MPV..maybe in the next 2 years or so..i’m still hammering out the Telli and will see in years to come what issue will come first..
So they call these things the Sell-u-ride around here. They can't keep the things on the lot and for MSRP it is no wonder.....however the dealerships have been marking them up by $10K around here and at that point it isn't such a great vehicle. I literally bought a brand new 2022 MDX Advanced for less than a Telluride SX. And I'm not a brand snob; I've got a 2020 Stinger GT2...the badge don't bother me; the MDX was just a better overall vehicle in our opinion and for the same price it was a no-brainer.
No way I'd pay .01 cent over MSRP for any vehicle just because it's popular. I'd just buy something else. Dealers will keep doing this if people keep paying. Just like higher residuals on certain brands. It's all a popularity contest. I don't care what kind of car it is, if it is popular it will demand a higher price regardless of any other factor normally attributed.
Wow, I didn't know they were marking them up that much. You made the smart choice with the 2022 MDX which is an amazing car with Honda reliability and high resale value. No brainer indeed!

I put the prestige KLexus badge overlays on my new Telluride as soon as I got it. They make it look even more luxurious. They are readily available at dealerships or via Amazon. The KLexus logo is actually a registered trademark of Kia but is used more internationally than in the USA. It fun to keep the car snobs guessing! The prestige stylized “K” KLexus logo looks even better than the new Kia logo.
We have a 2020 S AWD Telluride and love it! About to go on a few more road trips in it this year. No major issues at all and great power. I’ve even beat the fuel economy estimates. Most recently I got 28 MPG, but I’ve been up to 35 MPG in it before! I say definitely check it and the Palisade out!
@@mrsj1417 Considering the complete train wreck Kia and Hyundai used to be 20 years ago (which people still love to point out), seeing them put out stuff like the Stinger and Telluride/Palisade and then win quality and consumer satisfaction awards left and right is a comeback kid testimony of a lifetime. We had a brand new 2011 Equinox that was absolutely terrible, problems left and right. So just because it’s new doesn’t mean it’s guaranteed to be a great car. But if it is, then I say give it credit.

Not sure what you mean by premium, the average price for a new car transaction in America is right around 40,000, and this is a large SUV, which out of 35 vehicles in this class, it is the 5th cheapest option. Took those numbers from realcartips, if you want to compare
That Harman Kardon sounds fantastic! The sub woofer is to die for.. soft 50hz low boomy sound that has the same sound as my DBX subharmonics synthesizer i used for my dj speaker system👍
Better placement of wireless charging pad would be helpful. Can’t stand it right by the USB port. Now if telluride gets wireless CarPlay then it’s all good.
No reason to really. Performance editions are only ever really needed to spice up the lineup to combat lower sales. Hyundai Kia may also want to keep that engine with the Genesis so there’s a reason to upgrade.
The steering wheel seems to come off a previous gen fusion or something. I really like this car in general, just wish Kia would sort out their reliability issues and service nightmares.
No real reliability concerns with the Telluride drivetrain. Kia/Hyundai's NA V6 motors are pretty bulletproof and the 8-speed is just a traditional auto, no finicky DCT. They are also backed by the best warranty in the auto industry.
Looks great and features. What about longevity of the engine and it's working? 5 years with minimal issues? Easy to maintenance? Parts are affordable? time will tell. I want it to do well, so I can buy one in the future
@@StoryBuffett Hyundai and Kia's labor unions are opposing the importation of the Telluride which is only made by US because of their loss of productivity and income, while many Korean wanna buy Telluride.
I actually see more Palisades than I see Tellurides. They're not gigantic but they're meaty. I think I like the interior better on the Palisade and exterior of the Telluride. Also, I see nothing "cool" about SUVs. These vehicles are actually "crossovers," not SUVs and minivans will always be more efficient at people packaging. Stylewise, Kia nailed this but they also nailed the Stinger and the K5, and both of them look "cooler" to my eyes. What I like about the Telluride is it sort of looks like a wagon, at least in its shape.
This is incredible looking and potentially will take people seeking a viable premium alternative for a fraction of the cost they'd pay with luxury brands. Mdx is just a bit more nicer looking to me but of course that's subjective.
Same I prefer luxury over sport in this case since the telluride isn’t much faster like if you get a SUV it’s not for sport purposes it’s for hauling kids to soccer practice
