Best drone footage of fort Myers beach to date😊.I am living vicariously through you.😁
👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️
I lived in Ft Myers for 5 years...left in 2004. Oh, my heart.....love that town so much.....❤❤❤❤❤❤ 😢
Thank you for this! My parents place is on the south end and we rarely get to see updates. Appreciate it!!!❤
It looks so much better now with the empty spaces here and there!
I lived there for 7 years, I left in in 2017. I would drive to Bowditch early every morning to walk & watch the dolphins. It was so lush & beautiful. Hard to see all the destruction! It was a magical place for me..... I miss it very much!
wow f-ing awesome bad ass drone plz keep up the good work
When I last drove through Fort Myers they were almost finished paving the main road. Thankfully it was a excellent job because it's still there.
Great video of the Beach area. They’ve come a long way….still work to be done obviously. Greenery is coming back too! Like to see a drone video of Sanibel/Captiva too!
For being such a beautiful place ,there isn't nobody around ,which I like,Hope I see this one Day 👍♥️👍♥️👍♥️👍Hello Florida 👋👋👋
I grew up in Fort Myers and spent a lot of time on Fort Myers Beach. I haven't been back in many years because it was being ruined with too much development and I couldn't stand to look at it. I didn't recognize a thing in this video. I was surprised to see so many buildings still standing. I thought Ian took them all.
Nine years ago I left South Florida after 33 years. I'm in South America now so had only a vague memory of there being a big blow on the Gulf Coast. So as I started watching this video I got that sinking, sad feeling as the truth dawned on me. My sister lived in Naples so I was over there a lot and was used to such incredible, lush Gulf Coast beauty with the stunning sunsets. So sorry.
Glad ya like it down there, lol.
My favorite sand bar
Thanks for the video. Man, it looks like a war zone, so much open space where I know there were lots of building. I wish everyone involved the best of luck & prayers to you & yours
There are so many empty spaces now where beautiful buildings once stood.
I did see a lot off vacant lots, until you see a swimming pool and realize there used to be home on that lot😢
It is still so sad
Praying it doesnt get hit by another hurricane anytime soon🙏
My last trip to Fort Myers Beach was in 2015. For years, my folks rented a condo for a month or more near the south end. Lots of blue tarps on the roof over their unit. They stayed in the condo. I stayed beach side in an RV at the Red Coconut. I can't even spot it now or if I think I can I'm just not sure. Tons of progress over the past nine months. Still, tons more to go. So tragic how devastating this hurricane was.
The owners of the Red Coconut bought the property in 1984 for $750K. After Ian rolled through and destroyed the site, the family sold it to developers for $54MM.
Wow! That's one heck of a silver lining.@@ajarnett5814
I wish Michigan was like this ,but it's not ,boy do I wish 😩😩I need so bad to get outta this crappy Michigan
Am I seeing the Santini Plaza at 4:25? There are no cars in the parking lot. Honestly, this still sickens me. This island was so vibrant, so alive for as long as I can remember. I have spent so much time here and so much is gone. I couldn't find the Outrigger. And does anyone know if Chralie Browns Steakhouse and/or the Getaway Marina survived?
nice
I thought it was bad but I had no idea it was this bad! Sad!
4:50 I wonder what they are doing with all that sand at the old Wyndham Hotel
We stayed 3 nights at Outriger Beach resort (5:50) in June. Do anyone know what wil hapend to it? I Know the property has been sold.
Ian absolutely decimated Outfigger.
If that was done on one battery, what are you flying? Where were you standing and how did you recover your drone?
flying from a high point without interference.
People think Florida,s shining star is the Everglades. I say wrong. Its the Gulf Stream that circles our coast.
Still so very sad to see. Had a time share at Marina Village. Yes,it’s slowly being cleaned up but still so empty
Great job
When was this recorded?
May 10th
That's why we shouldn't build anything that close to the water but people do everything to sit in the first row.
No tourists..it will take yrs to come back.. that's why I moved..I don't that much time
Had 11ft of water in my house and new car was washed away with my house..too many bad memories..had to go to 😢😢😢😢
Sad!
Maybe Ukraine Could Spare A Few Billion To Help The Recovery Efforts In Florida
That money has probably vanished into the pockets of the corrupt. Estimates are that only 1/3 at most of the monet is making it towards its actual purpose...😠
The ignorance in that statement is astounding and just sad that people being oppressed is some sort of joke. There is a major difference in what is happening in Ukraine and what is happening to coastal Florida due to climate change. Not to say I don't get the sentiment of massive government spending towards undeserving expenditures. But maybe instead of going after all the human suffering in Ukraine ask why trillions went to the stock market and bonds during the pandemic or why in 2018 we gave trillion dollar tax breaks to 1%.
@@brooke2442 best said.
So now Florida wants government handouts?
@@brooke2442 Sure, climate change. That’s a good one.
Looks like some hurricane repairs going on.
Turn volume down. Change playback speed to 2. You're welcome.
I’ve lived there more than 23 years and I hardly recognized anything. Now back in Ohio/West Virginia, never to go back again due to Ian destroying everything I had.
Someone is lying!! I have lived there my whole life and there is nothing there like this. This must be Miami
This says it's Myrtle Beach no way definitely Florida
This is Ft Myers Beach. I live there
I just hop the water keeps clearing up
Due to the construction of the new bridge, Lover's Key beach is closed. You can't park there anymore.
For anyone that complains why hasn't more been done, well, all I have to say is dude/dudette,it ain't just a home or 2 or even just a block or so.Look at the entire picture.
@@Mugsy-14 Lived in Ft Laud. when Andrew hit.Could not believe what it did to Homestead.
Insurance payments and building regulations have a lot to do with it. In many cases the insurance payouts do not cover the cost to rebuild at upgraded code requirements and elevations. We know 2 families on the island who are now the proud owners of vacant lots, and not enough money to rebuild. It looks as if they will be selling and moving away from their dream home location.
About 4-5 more months until it's destroyed again.
im seeing no movement at all on the sandpiper; no attempt to cover the roof to prevent further water damage, would leave one to suspect they will knock it down and rebuild new, or just sell property; see no cars in the taller condo structure either......
I’m a local…it’s amazing how many buildings/businesses that haven’t even removed drywall yet, let alone started/finished any other work…a lot of reasons behind all of this. Some blame insurance, some are unsure wether not to sell or stay…ALOT of people
On FMB didn’t have flood insurance so alot of them are having to come out of pocket which is just flat out not possible. Very sad
So much empty space where homes and stores were. It's a beautiful place but I wouldnt invest a penny there
don't like the music
If more people got off their lazy buts and not rely on the Govt to pay for their lazy but attitudes, more could be done quicker.
