This story moved me to tears. My brother is on the autistic spectrum and has been told "no" his whole life. It has always made me very angry that he doesn't get the same chances as other people because he is different. I am so proud of Tara for taking a chance with Peter and saying "yes" to someone who had been cut down in the past. Yessss! Love this! The best thing I ever did with my vocal talent was when I said “this isn’t going to be about me anymore, I only want to use my talent for Jesus”. I’m absolutely content now to only use my voice to lead worship at our church. He gets all the glory. Not me. And I am using what He gave me to bring others into His presence. No greater joy! Tara, there are so many of us who don't do music vocationally, but never quit playing. And I'd bet it's because we had a mentor somewhere who pushed us to keep going. Mine was a high school band director. What he did, and what you do, is important. Thanks for answering the call, and please keep doing what you do.

My sweet daughter was diagnosed with pediatric bone cancer at 19 years old. She's now 24 and has secondary Acute myleoid leukemia and is terminal. She started singing in church at a very young age. Music has helped her battle to be a bit more bearable. On many days she has no strength to even sit up, but she still can open her mouth to sing.
I'm struggling so badly with my only child suffering from her cancer. I'm also struggling with my relationship with God. I'm a pastor's daughter and always felt so close to him, but these days he seems so far away.
I need to see this video and hear this story today, thank you 😊 ❤
Christina, I’m so sorry to hear your daughter is suffering. I pray God eases her pain and the music within her lifts her soul and brings her comfort. Jesus sees every tear and hears the cry of your heart, Christina. He has never left your side and I am incredibly humbled to know He used my story to be that reminder for you. I pray the Lord covers you with His presence and fills you with His infinite strength during this unbearable time. I ask all of this in Jesus’s name.

As a music educator for over 30 years I completely understand the things you’ve said. It is a great feeling sharing the love of music with those around you. What an exceptional young man Peter was for the way he approached piano, music and life.
An incredible story, Tara...God used you and Peter both in such a wonderful way...to give each other not what you wanted, but what you needed... I'm so glad that you figured out what God was doing for you and Peter...
