I am confused also. Am I correct in assuming that you have to cut one of them and sew across the bands to keep the band from coming out, and then proceed to sew the two covers end to end? I've watched the video several times and I am missing the part where you you do something with the second band that keeps the elastic in. I'm sorry. I'm a bit dense.

The fabric just folds over them, then I stitched below it.

How did you get the elastic gathered on the one you cut off the seam.
I left the elastic in the one. It's actually just rubber bands.
