1973 International Loadstar 1700 dump truck

I bought this truck for fun and work. It runs great with 64,000 original miles on it. I wish it did not have the rust issues in the cab and doors, but the frame is in great shape. The old girl really drives like a car and is fun too. Always liked the looks of this style over the flip fiberglass nose. It has the 345 gas engine with a 5 speed and 2 speed rear end. Sorry for the lack of commentary, camera shy I guess.

Nice sound! The Loadstar bus chassis was the most common at Fort Worth ISD. I remember the sound of the Allison automatic well as a kid.

I H sold a boat load of load stars I believe production was from 1962 to1978 with just small changes. Great trucks very popular and reliable.

Im thinking of getting one of these 72 model ,But its been converted too a flat bed But still the dump couldnt be hard too get , still got the ram and all the Accleries , was stiling on a farm foryears
Runs ok No real rust eather ,I might get it start a Buiness ,Love these things

I have a 1965 load star 1600 with 41,000 miles on it , runs excellent mine is a 16 ft flatbed dump , don,t know what to do with it my dad bought it new and he is gone and don,t have the heart to get rid of it , i use it for trash runs , I get a lot of looks at the dumps when i drive it.

I drove one of these all over south texas when i was about 14. I remember the horn would condensate and it would drip down the pull cord and hit my elboy. I remember it being a loud SOB wasnt well liked when i would down shift with the jakes at the intersection in town.
