Here I thought BN couldnt tell us anything about how payback got rid of Soldier Boy. This was truly creative. Eric Kripke and his team are making a unique tv show in every way. Not to mention this made Black Noir more popular than he ever was.

They think that those things are real, therefore they accept it as reality even if others try to tell em the truth. In that same way, it's not only hallucinations but a serie of other affective symptoms such as emotional disorders. Noir, just imagine cartoons, knowing they are not real, just like a normal thought to make himself feel safe, he is aware that those are thoughts and it's himself saying that he will be okay. In the show, the cartoons are shown as schizophrenia-like images or representations just to make the audience see what is happening inside his head.

It has that cartoon-level graphic to it, while also keeping the depraved violence and unhinged energy. Except this is actually good because of the background and development to the characters.

You know we may not even be seeing the full picture as young Stan Edgar was played by Justiin Davis but in Noir’s flashback he is voiced by Giancarlo Esposito. Sure that may have just been a small oversight but I think it means Noir’s memory was damaged when Soldier Boy bashed his head in with the shield

It’s crazy that Noir barely had a personality before this. He had a really fulfilling character arc in like two episodes

I love how Noir likes Homelander because he messes with everyone but him, & hates Soldier Boy because he messed with him. Nice to see where his priorities lye

He was told Homelander would fix everything.
Then he had his brains bashed in.
He’s clinging to hope as he has lost touch with reality

Homelander doesn't mess with him (until, yk) because he was the only one who got shit done right (for Vought)

Seeing Nior personify himself as a black sheep is a hell of a detail. reflects his feelings about his early days position in Payback and Vaught as a whole.
