    I use it with my Fuji X system for landscapes. Took some time to get used to it and even considered selling it off. After experimenting it few times realised how brilliant the lens is if you don’t shoot at f2.8. Trick is to shoot down f8. The pictures are very sharp. Thanks for the video.

    Good review. I bought this lens for the Canon M50 shooting real estate photos and videos. It's a very good lens and I prefer manual, just set it to infinity and most everything is in sharp focus. My only gripe is I wish it had an f1.4 like the Sigma 16mm lens I had. That lens is absolutely amazing in low light, absolutely no noise but definitely not wide enough. The Laowa has a lot of noise in low light, even at f2.8. As long as I shoot houses on a sunny day, the Laowa 9mm f2.8 is an elite lens. I returned the Sigma 16mm f1.4 but I'm thinking of getting it again or something better for those houses that I have to shoot on cloudy days with already poor natural light.

      The lens doesn't have a lot of noise, the iso does. Try a tripod with i.b.i.s. off. And be sure to set your manual lens setting to 9mm.

    Hello originaldo. In terms of diaphragm aperture, would you recommend using the LAOWA 9MM for video?
    What happens is that I want to light my scene without using the ISO too much, but I don't want to fear that it will come out of focus later.

    The lens I use for real estate is my Canon 10-18... Not the greatest in terms of aperature but it's pretty darn wide and works excellently on a gimbal! Great review 👍

    I thank you for spending the time to make this video.
    I also own a Laowa 9mm ZeroD on a A6400 for real estate photography for more than 2 years, and till today I can't get rid of a blue vignette that happens on all the photos I take with it.
    This makes me spend loads of time correcting it in Photoshop. Is it an issue with my lens?

    Hi Ken, I am new to video/photography for real estate (and in general). I picked up a used a6600 recently and Im looking for guidance on what lens to get that works for both or if I need two lenses. Also, the 9mm lens being manual, how does that work for shooting bracketed photos?

  • @omnirhythm
    @omnirhythm Год назад

    Great, this was exactly the review I needed having an a6400 and thinking about it for real estate vs the Sigma 16mm which I already own and while it's great and all, it's not really wide enough plus the distortion is heavy.

    Hey Ken! Dude!!! I’ve been eye balling that lens for months now, and for $400.... IT’S AMAZING for real estate on a cropped sensor camera. The 12mm version at $900 doesn’t make sense to me though. I’m probably going to wait though since I want to see if Canon releases the timeline for the R5/R6 release dates because I’m seriously considering the new Canon 15-35 for my real estate work and because it has AF that I can use for other photography.

    I use the same setup (camera and lens) for my real estate videos. Only thing is that when I shoot in SLOG2 @ full HD, 50fps (PAL), footage is a bit blurry for my liking. Your ungraded SLOG2 looks better than mine, so can you share what camera setup you use when shooting SLOG2?

    Torn between buying Laowa 9mm and the Samyang 12mm to use on Sony A6500 for real estate video. I'm working on the basis that the Laowa 9mm will be around 13mm on the crop sensor and the Samyang about 18mm. Would you say that 18mm is not wide enough for the video and would the 9mm be too extreme for say a very large room? Would be using both on a gimbal.

    • @OriginaldoBo
      @OriginaldoBo  3 года назад +1

      The issue with the Samyang is chromatic aberration is really bad and has fringing. The laowa is nice but has dark corners at lower apertures for photos it’s great at f 7.1 but it’s almost to wide to me so my sweet spot is 10-14 mm on APSC
