Very glad he prevented someone from getting hurt by the snake. That said this is what happens with People building their homes where these animals are just trying to live. Remember this when the rat population increases.
I noticed that people who hate other people for "displacing wildlife" say so from their own home where apparently no wildlife ever existed. People matter, too.
@Jr-qo4ls We are part of nature. We live here too. Animals kill each other every day. Rattlesnakes will bite anything they perceive as a threat. We are no different.
No. The snake did NOT need to be killed. He should have called animal control so the animal could be relocated. And, this family is probably going to face this issue again because they haven't taken steps to keep away animals such as this. When any area is experiencing extreme heat, animals are going to seek any cool or shade spot they can find. Killing the animal is not the answer.
@@lalotime Rattlesnakes don’t want to use their venom on you or your children; it’s meant for catching prey. They literally have a rattle to warn you of their presence.
@@lalotime You clearly have no experience with snakes and I would encourage you to research their behavior before commenting such ridiculous and untrue things.
Kind of disturbing to me. These beautiful animals do not deserve to be killed. Call animal control and have them relocate it. Killing them is not right.
Because it was. And I'm not saying he was wrong for it, I've also had to murder certain dangerous or pesky animals and insects myself because they also encroached upon my territory or are damaging it. But it's all still murder because how could they possibly recognize the area in which they are in? They were simply just moving around, found somewhere to chill for a bit and never outright attacked anyone until someone came up to it and outright killed it just for being there. Same thing we do to other dangerous animals and bugs around our areas. It's not their fault, they didn't seek us out, but we still have to dispatch them because if not they'll harm or kill us by accident because they don't understand us nor our intentions in nearly the same way that we do theirs since we are, again by no faults, simply vastly more intelligent and dominant compared to them. It is what it is!
This pisses me off. There are 20 things you could do to make the area safer without killing an animal that's only crime was existing. If you are too scared to get it into a bucket or a sheet/pillow case, there are plenty of people that will come and relocate it for you, many without a charge. Odds of dying from a snake bite in the US is something like 1 in 50 million. They aren't deadly as people overexagerate. Most snake deaths come from allergic reactions and people with poor hearts. Snakes do so much for us and we just kill them and praise those that do simply because we are too ignorant to get over our fears and educate ourselves. It's quite sad really.
People in this generation/era really amaze me in the worst way possible. The dog was whining, and obviously something was amiss but she still didn't pay attention to her surroundings. Good thing that Fed Ex guy was alert and acted. Those kids could have been attacked/killed by that venomous snake
Snakes don't "attack", they defend. That snake was already over there, where the dog was sniffing, and it waited for the people/dog to leave before it moved to the other side. Snakes are really not out to get us, you know. They want to be left alone. (To clarify, the steps are no place for the snake, and I'm glad it was removed.)
🛑DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS🛑 By doing what man did above, you will put yourself in unnecessary risk for yourself and others around you. According to a study by U.S hospitals more than 67% of snake bites occur when people try to kill/capture venomous snakes. Not only do they pose a risk when they are alive, but they pose the same envenomation/bite risk when they are dead due to how the nervous system works with these animals. For the safety of your pets, children, family and wildlife please contact your local/state wildlife services when you encounter these and other potentially dangerous animals such as bears, bats, etc.
I agree. The snakes do NOT want to attack humans and even their severed heads can be dangerous for a long time after the head is severed from the body. We don’t need to kill every dangerous animal we encounter - best thing would be to call animal control and even the police in order for the police to warn the homeowner. I would not take this upon myself.
@@VOODOOphg agree but FedEx guy does not have time to wait for wildlife personnel to show up (that can take an hour) better to kill a rattler than to risk danger to pets /family. FedEx guy doesn't have time to wait for family to arrive n warn them.
I’m sorry, is he a hero for killing an innocent animal? If there was a puppy at your front door and a delivery driver killed it because it could be dangerous, what would you think? With those tools you could easily have moved it without killing a keystone species. Also before you say “it could have injured the girl” 1. She was going to school, and the rattlesnake would have left by the time she came back 2. Rattlesnakes don’t strike unless they’re being threatened. If they educated their child on how to avoid possibly dangerous things in the area, then she should be fine.
Wow! Kudos to that delivery guy 👏 My dog was bitten by one several years ago. He lived (he's now 14) but it really messed up his joints for the rest of his life.
They have tons of mice on that farm. Snakes everywhere. They're not thinking about them people. If they were trying to bite, they would have been in the house doing so.
There's a Ring video of cartoonist Berkeley Breathed (Bloom County) stepping out of his home in his bare feet and he comes pretty close to a rattlesnake that's curling up on his front porch. Scary. That said: Instagram has been sending me videos of a guy named Wrangler Bruce who seems to do nothing but capture rattlesnakes when he's called. He makes it look easy. Still, I don't know if I would want to do it. I'm glad this driver kept the family safe. That's always the most important thing. But if one wants -- and one is in Arizona -- Wrangler Bruce is a good option.
I thought people were going to be pissed about it, that's honestly so messed up. Who is scared of a rattler, I live in AZ and see them nearly daily without issue.
They usually mind their own business and only get aggressive when threatened. Plus they help keep rodents away. Never understood why people go out of their way to kill them
Right? If this was a fuzzy cute predator people would lose their minds. I live in Southern Alberta and we get snakes that encounter humans. The city I live in has a snake handler that one can call to relocate the snake away from your home. Most areas have animal control that could relocate the snake. Poor snake. He's was an important part of the ecosystem. Also.... good dog who tried to tell the humans that it was there.

He could have. I’m sure they don’t come with lights and sirens in a hurry. So he has to leave and the snake does snake things and moves around. This man has to get on with his day. So he leaves then someone completely unaware of the situation comes along, possibly a child. Now possibly a human child is possibly fighting for their life. I’m all about relocating snakes. But common sense must prevail. Every situation is different. I watched a good friend take a bite to the calf from a 6 foot timber rattler. Some dogs bark and whine all gd day.
As a child I lived in the country in south Florida we have many snakes in the area rattlesnakes cottonmouths and coral snakes every dog and cat we had would warn us of any snakes in the area the cat actually jump on me the jump off them jumped again mowed like crazy as I looked down at her I seen a coral snake at my front door may dog would do crazy stuff too to warn me had one terrior that would go after the snake and kill it would scar me to death he would get bitten he live to a old age never did get bitten but loved to kill snakes we had to keep him inside and wall him to keep him from hunting down snakes and yes where we lived there was that many snakes the were everywhere during the spring and summer we started getting blacksnake ans releasing them in our yard they eat snakes much rather have a black snake in the yard then venomous snakes

@@ledzeppelin1212if it’s on your front step and you step on it unknowingly it will bite you.
Right... they live on a farm. He's just there feasting on the mice that they clearly have in the house.
But I don't trust them. One bite can kill inside of an hour.
@@TheEsquireOfSportsFSU Yea as much as I appreciate that they get rid of vermin the risk is just too high for normal people to tolerate and moving them really doesn't work because outside of driving them an hour away they'll just come right back. Snakes are fascinating creatures but those bites are dangerous and even if it doesn't kill you it can make you extremely sick or cost you a limb.
Do you give up your house if a raccoon digs into your roof or mice gets into your basement?
But why don't call the snake guy so that the life of the snake could be spared?
The snake was just chilling smh
Yes, "just chilling", rattling at him. Fvck off, get a grip.
exactly.

Love how they describe it as a murder" Disposed of the body" "Have a few trash bags, Ill put em in there and figure out what to do with later" 😂
😅 he could be like a "Dexter" and after work took his boat out to sea and dropped off the snake in his usual spot?
I mean he did kill it
Because it was.
I agree, people are so dumb

Stop talking idiot. Where were you!

People in this generation/era really amaze me in the worst way possible. The dog was whining, and obviously something was amiss but she still didn't pay attention to her surroundings. Good thing that Fed Ex guy was alert and acted. Those kids could have been attacked/killed by that venomous snake
Kinda hard not to be alert when you hear it rattling like it did. Lmao
Well fed and overly provided generation.
Attacking is what humans do 😂, animals bite in self defense. Although, I am not saying that the driver did anything wrong!
@@ani_ds12 animals attack all the time. House cats, tigers, bears, moose, polar bears, are just a few. What are you on about?
Snakes don't "attack", they defend. That snake was already over there, where the dog was sniffing, and it waited for the people/dog to leave before it moved to the other side. Snakes are really not out to get us, you know. They want to be left alone. (To clarify, the steps are no place for the snake, and I'm glad it was removed.)
🛑DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS🛑
By doing what man did above, you will put yourself in unnecessary risk for yourself and others around you.

Probably saved a life as well!

There's a Ring video of cartoonist Berkeley Breathed (Bloom County) stepping out of his home in his bare feet and he comes pretty close to a rattlesnake that's curling up on his front porch. Scary.

He could have. I’m sure they don’t come with lights and sirens in a hurry. So he has to leave and the snake does snake things and moves around. @@Tony-rj1xr Dude I’ve been handling snakes for 50 years. I’m no expert by a long shot. But I’ve caught hundreds of cottonmouths, copperheads and many rattle snakes. I’m aware of how they act. What you said is a good rule of thumb but like so many things in identifying snakes, it can very with snakes and circumstances. What I said was most likely nobody is rushing to the call. He was in bad shape before I got him to the hospital. A child wouldn’t have survived it. He still lives life with a chunk of his calf gone.

It took a while for me to get him to a spot I could get the truck to. And then I had to go get the truck and get him. This was a big snake and it hit him high on his calf and sank a full dose in him. Ok. Instead of killing the animal he could have called animal control and had them move it. Or notify the family and they could have called them. That was unnecessary to kill the poor animal. As a snake owner myself I don’t advise anyone to outright automatically kill a snake. Regardless as to whether they are venomous or not.
