Sky is such a gorgeous colour!
I believe that is called a Rainbow budgie color. Some call it fancy hybrid . It's different than pied or cinnamon genetic deviation.
It's the color of both of my birds before 1 of them died because of a cat today.
The mutation is yellowface 2. They start out blue. Then the yellow of the face "melts" into the blue and turns it this color. Same for goldenface budgies although they are darker. I actually have a goldenface.
Pretty interesting mutations ain't they?
You have the BEST husband! What a sweet birdie connection you have with Sky.
He is the best. Sky was at a pet store very far away from our home as we were on a day trip and my husband went after work all the way there to get Sky for me.
I hope you also have a BEST husband. It's the only kind of husband to have.
I do 🥰
My budgie is going crazy over the sounds of your flock 😊
My budgie also came from a pet shop, everyday I put my hand in, the first few times I did it she would go to the whole other side of the cage, now she will stand right next to my hand and she lets me pet her and the last two days she is starting to step up, it just takes a lot of patience 😊😊
Excellent news! I am sure Sky would of became take if I spent more time taming.
A bit late but i got my budgie to step up pretty quick. First day? Shes so sweet. I wang another one
My bird feel in love with a toy then I trained him with it now he’s my best friend :D
Try to keep your bird outside it's cage in a safe closed room most of the day. My bird is also loose in our livingroom all day until it's time to sleep. He has a tree stand that we have built with nature, safe tree limbs that's attached to the stand with a tray underneath. My bird only flies around to fly to another location to sit there for a while. He flies to specific places like near the windows, so I have put hand towels down over those spots. You'll learn where your bird likes to go after a few days of allowing him/ her to fly freely around. My bird also likes to walk around on the floor and play with his corks from wine bottles, they are his favorites. He can play for hours on the floor. You can lay down a hard plastic rug like thing that one can use under office chairs, it can protect the floor, which I've done it collects all his poo, and then I can clean and sanitize it. Enjoy your pet but give him/her alot of freedom.
@@pyrotheloli7786 it was the same with mine, you’ll find some budgies are more hand trained before you buy them, I’m actually getting my little parakeet Caesar some friends today. I’m sure he’ll love that
You're one lucky woman to have a wonderful husband to buy you a bird. Lovely bird. Very lively, active and beautiful too.
I think that husbands should normally be supportive of wives. Unfortunately, these days, it's normal for husbands to tease and make fun of wives about their hobbies and weight. This lady's husband is what I call normal for my kind of guy. I think they get along very well together, which is what is should be. She treats her husband well and she is a very peaceful person. You can tell by the way her birds all love her.
@@annalisa14 you're probably somewhere between the 50s and the 80s, because its 2019 and there are less and less men out there that treat women any lesser than they would like to be treated themselves
@@annalisa14 I'd say teasing is ok...but if it went too far...it might be time to reconsider or to confront him about it...
Omg ...I stuck my new bird in with my other new bird , I had it a week it was lonely ...
I didn't know what I was doing .
Thank Goodness they bonded right off , They love each other so much ...
Have them for two mos. now both from Driffrent Petco's.
Linda / LTSTEELE same !!
I just brought my bird a new friend now he hate us and bits why so i took the new bird a way
@@kyedaman5144 dont do that it will make it worst for both of them. Sometimes it happens because they grow attempt to the new bird but there is ways to change that look it up online maybe talk to our vet but don't take the bird away from Now he's really going to be mad at you because you took his friend away Now any trust you had with that bird is out the window I know it's been a few months since you posted that I really hope you brought his friend back and they doing good
oml SHE HAS A BIRD ROOM
It's cute to see the birds but it's also cute to see the conscienscious owner and really nice to see such a stimulating & fun looking environment. I'm sure these are very happy birds.
Happy for Jack Sparrow that he does not have to go back to his former owner and can instead have a great flock life in your bird room. Love your videos.
LOVE YOUR BIRD ROOM & GREAT JOB ON YOUR BIRDS . THEY LOOK SO LOVED ..WHO PAINTED YOUR WALL VERY NICE
Thank you. I did the painting. The branches you see are stickers and the palm tree is a scene setter. I wish I could paint a tree, maybe I will, lol

That would be nice. I would like to see it.

I just love your videos. I really appreciate all the work you do in making them. It is clear you love your animals and that you are doing this because you want to help others care for theirs. You just seem like such a nice person and I always smile watching your videos. Sky is adorable. I'm glad she found her family. :)
Thank you so much, your comment made me smile.

Sky is one pretty budgie!!! Those colors are beautiful!! I just got my second one. He is in quarantine right now. Hope it all goes well!! 2 boys!!! Thanks for the tips.
Aw, this was a nice video. Your new baby is my favorite coloring in parakeets, so adorable. You're a wonderful bird mommy. 💙💛💚
So cute and sweet!
This is excellent advice - especially the part about giving Sky the choice of venturing out at her own comfort. With a minimum of daily effort, she could be handtame within two or three weeks.
Thank you, I like your channel.
My girl ❤️ this one chirps right along with everybody else🕊
Thank you for this video and for the beautiful time you are sharing with us...God bless you ..
You did a terrific job introducing the new one to the flock - it all seems so effortless and relaxed but I suppose this is only the case because you have a lot of experience and love for your birds
I hope you don't mind my commenting on an older video, but I wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed watching Sky's introduction to the flock. It went so well and it was so sweet how Splash went to meet her and sort of showed her around. I'm making my way through your videos and want to thank you for making such great content!
Hi. I don't miss at all. I see all comments. Glad you are enjoying my videos, it makes me happy 😊

Absolutely stunning 😍
Great Video 👌
I had been looking for this video
So cute...thanks for sharing.
Awwwww Sky is adorable 😍😍
Wow, I am new to watching your videos. Got 4 parakeets (budgies) from a rescue shelter back in March 2018. Now realizing that most things I have been doing in care with the birds has been wrong. Two cages with 2 birds in each cage. One bird died in September and the lone bird seemed so sad that I went to a pet store and bought another. I immediately put the new bird in with the lonely bird and after a few days, things went well. Guess I was real lucky in that the birds are not sick. Love watching your videos as I am always learning something new.
Hi, glad you enjoyed my videos, have fun with your birds. Quarentine is recommended and a slow introduction is best when you get a new bird
Sky went to say hi...so cute😍😍😍
watching your videos make me miss having my budgies my last pair of sisters passed last year within a month of each other they were 10yrs old called willo and wisp, I miss them so much still thank you for sharing your pets :-)

This video has helped me loads, my mums ex got given a budgie a little while ago and doesn't want it so im taking it but i already have 2 budgies (a male and female) and i knew a little about introducing them to each other but i wasn't too sure and was a little worried something would happen but after watching this im confident now!
I have parrots an different kind of rescue birds but I gotta say ,budgies are my favorite bird, they are very smart an just soooo beautiful an don't get the credit they deserve 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰😍😍😍😍😍😍
Skye is such a beautiful bird.I don’t think I’ve ever seen one like that before.

Can never have enough budgies 😊
I have a budgie name Skye and ur bird has gorgeous colours
My two conures don’t get on with my budgie but it doesn’t stop him from trying to visit with them daily. They shoo him off when he tries to get near them on the play area .He knows not to get too close. I am sure he just likes bugging them.
Sky is settling in really well. Hope you learned some tips for introducing a new bird to your birds.

I wish I could tame my budgies parrots like you 😞
Awwwe Sky is my budgy
Very very very very very much nice
I am like vary veadyos
Ui
Sky is my favorite name!
Hello SKY! SO cute!!
Sky i so pretty!!! And cute. I was looking for one that color the other day when buying a new budgie. I didn't find a aqua, teal, or blue one with a yellow head.
I have 3 parakeets and 1 cockatiel. Soon im gonna adopt another one. My oldest parakeet likes the cockatiel but the otherd who are just about a year to a year and a half are deathly afraid of him. He hissed at the youngest but not the older one.
So glad that Sky was welcomed by the PR of the flock, Splash, and they are probably best friends.
I see you have all your budgies in one cage, male and females. Any concerns that they will breed or you want them to breed?
I am hoping that Sky is make, one day Sky looks male and then female. The rest are males. If sky is female than they may want to breed next year but I can separate it just take the eggs away and replace with fake eggs if I don't want babies.
What Is the true body color of Sky’s body because colors may come across differently on different devices. Sky is coming across more blue than green, a teal, in the video. If so, Sky looks very similar to my Rainbow when he first came home to us last Nov. I don’t know if you recall seeing Rainbow, but he had a teal color on the body ( more blue than green) and a light yellow face and a solid pink cere. After the first molt, his yellow on his face darken to almost a golden yellow and spread down to his neck and half his body making his upper half of his body spring green ( yellow green ) and the lower body remaining sky blue.
Even though Rainbow is almost 11 months old now, his cere is still purplish and not blue yet. While most viewers comment that Rainbow is female, I know he is male and a few viewers confirmed that they also had budgies with Rainbow’s Coloring and the cere color didn’t fully turn blue for their budgies until a year old. I guess this mutation is a late bloomer. Sky’s color mutation seem to be similar to my Rainbow’s and most thought Rainbow was female too but I knew he is male from his bite, body language and the intensity of the pink cere back then and now then purple cere.
I also was confused as to why one day Rainbow appears to be male and female the next.
Your Sky’s cere will play tricks on you too making you think one gender one day and another the next. It may not reveal its true gender for awhile just like my Rainbow.
Hi, actually he does look like your Rainbow. I will come to your channel and see him. Sky is like a teal or turquoise color, so pretty and he has a yellow face with I suppose will be even more yellow as he or she matures. Today Sky looks male, lol. Sky is in tricky bird to sex. Time will tell. I love his color or her 😀
Yes, Sky and Rainbow colors are gorgeous.
@@teardropface i watch you all the time and also have a budgie just like rainbow only 2 months old
Thank you for putting that video together. I’m still not sure if I want to get Sammy a buddy. He seems happy being a single budgie. I spoil him rotten. I wish there was a way to send you pictures of his play room.
Hi, you can send me pictures on my Facebook page or Instagram. The links are in the description below my video
I got a new budgie today! Called him dakota and my other 2 are willow and snowy
Congratulations! Enjoy your new Budgie. What color?
Omg! I have a very similar bird and her name is sky
SKY! that’s my budgies name!🥰😍😝🕊🕊🕊
Sky was great with the other birds.
I have the same clock 😂6:46
Thanks for sharing! What temperature is your bird room?
My budgy looks exactly the same
Me: *yeets them all at the same cage after a day*
Wow this woman is the CEO of patience. If I got another budgie I’d just bring it home and put it strait into my budgies cage honestly...
Same I always have too.
I also called mine sky cause she has yellow blue white and a black head the only thing I thought was like her was the sky 😁
🥰🥰🥰
i have 2 budgies, from the past few days one of them looked very sick and i knew she was going to die soon, today i found her lying on the floor dead, i left her on the floor for a few hours just in case she was fully dead. a few hours later we went to go bury her in my backyard with my dad. when he found out she was dead he immediately brought up the idea of buying a new budgie the next day (tomorrow) so my other bud god won’t be lonely while i’m at school, not at home etc. tomorrow we’re going to go find another budgie and get lots of toys, a new cage *all the necessities*. i’m so excited and this really helped me, thank you.
Sorry for your loss 😓. Quarantine your new Budgie for at least 30 days to ensure its healthy. A health check at an avian vet is best as you don't want it to pass on an illness to your current budgie or pass on a disease to your current budgie.
Have fun.
My budgie has the same looking and the same Name too🤣
😍😍
How is the budgie that you found outside doing?
Sky looks exactly like my male Budgie named Buddy. Same big eyes, too. He lived for 15 years and died in my hand. Its been 25 years and I still miss him.
Awh, at least he was with you when he passed which made it easier on the both of you. So sorry for your loss.
@@Loveofpets I had other birds and he was the only one left. He was 10 years old and then started talking. In sentences, too. He would say " Cachoo. God bless you" and "OK, big guy. Watcha doin." No cell phones to take videos in those days. Just memories. I love these RUclips videos you post. Thank you for your love and devotion to birds.
This Video is up with the very best. It must be UK,s best if not the worlds best. I am troubled to mix finches with budgies but than they seem to get along. How long should Youngsters stay with the parents. I was lucky got 3 but the weathered the cold pretty well. I have them outdoors and do not spoil them as You do. Your set up is something to be admired. Must cost a bit but than You have premium taste and care as good as God wants them to be looked after!
Hi, thank you! I suggest separating the budgies from the finches unless it's a really huge aviary and I mean huge, one you can walk and run in. The babies should stay with the parents until they are weaned and fully eating on their own . My budgies weaned at around 8 Weeks old.
Many thanks!
If there are nest boxes than it's best to separate for sure, to be safe I personally would never house the two together
@@finchandallbirdscaretipst.6044 That's horrible. It's best to keep separate
They don’t need to be hand raised to sit on your hand. My budgie wasn’t hand raised and I got her when she was a few years old. She is very tame.
That's true but they need to be worked with. I did not try too much to tame her, with time I am sure she could be tame. Now she is with my flock so it's much harder to tame when they are all together. Thanks for the input.
So true
My one was hand raised, but doesn't want to stand on my hand still.
All of my birds are hand raised and none of them like to be touched a whole lot. Three of them withstand it but one of my cockatiels hates it and will never be a hands on bird. It all depends on their personality I guess.. Hand raised doesn't always mean they will like to be touched. I raised my own cockatiel when I was younger and he never liked to be touched either. At least I have three I can hold though lol
I get all my birds from the same breeder, so I usually don't quarantine them. But in a few weeks I go to pick up two more baby budgies and I will be putting them in quarantine for a bit. The reason why is because all 4 of my other birds my 2 cockatiels and 2 budgies had to go to a avian vet a few days ago. My cockatiels have a upper respiratory infection and one of my Budgies has a eye infection. Because they all share the same flight cage they all have been exposed. So now all are on antibiotics, they are doing good though. It was a mild respiratory infection I caught it in time. They are out from 7am to 9 pm And they have been feeling well enough to stay out all day and play . I might be taking my new babies for a check up as well.
I hope your flock feels better soon. Thanks for taking them to the vet.
My one is exactly the same colour
My bird looks like sky and she did the same thing at the pet store she come up me and started singing and chirping and the other one ran away from me so I got clover
