I allways say, dont look at the price cheap or expensive, but listen to what it can deliver. For all those people who doubt about these tweeters…My BMW e39 is ready to show you what they can deliver. They are so damn refined, the level of extension, details you never heard before, space, the realism. They disappear completely creating that stage as a concert like its live in front of you. They can take more power than your ears will like. I used to be with conventional ones… but not anymore from now on, there is so much more to gain. Its a no brainer if you want that true audiophile experience🍰🎶
The funniest thing is, if Peter was recommending a pair of Brax, Micro Precision or other "high end" tweeter no one would really think that they are overpriced. But because these are seen as "pssound tweeters" then some people seem to think they are expensive. But think of all the work involved in getting these from development to the shop counter. It's takes a lot of confidence to put your name and reputation on a product. Well done to all at pssound, you are appreciated.
Chris Pearce is running these is his Dodge right? I listened to his car at the October meet in Maine here in the states. Definitely very good sounding tweeter.
I like your videos, they inspire me. I noticed that in this video in particular that you are not responding to comments regarding other speakers of simular design.
Hi Robert, I don’t get notification of each comment, but got yours. I’ll look at it later. Regarding other speakers: i shared what i know in the video. If there is anything i missed or you’d like information about, please let me know.
@@pssound9749 yes, I am happy with them :) They are great for the money and better than over 90% of all tweeters. If you want better tweeters you must pay at least double and for me it's not worth it.
Please look at the spec sheet right at the beginning of the video, shows frequency range on it. Also, we explained in the video in great detail that these are capable as a “main” tweeter from functional range 2kHz upwards, so it’s better to integrate them to a midrange. Check out some of the latest projects we shared on the channel with these tweeters, like the BMW E39.
@ I skipped over the first part of the video to hear you talk, the specs are pretty amazing. And for people complaining about the cost, performance and quality demand a higher price.
Speaking of which, I remember you had a car with Accuton tweeters and Mundorf AMTs for "supertweeter" duty. Makes me wonder of the advantages of this setup, instead of just using the AMT by itself. I'm thinking sound dispertion improvements in the higher frequencies with using those AMTs.
this has crossed my mind too as these can be a little cumbersome in the vertical position but in parallel to the a piller it could fit quiet well although i think these have worst off axis response lol
Do they hold up well in car environments in climates with temperatures ranging below 0 in the winter and over 100 degrees Fahrenheit in the summer? If they get rain on them?
I'm live in the USA and have recently purchased one single GRS pt6825-8 planar speaker. It is a mid/tweet and I use it as my center channel. Are you familiar with this type of speaker and what are your thoughts on them.
Hey Peter Do you have any experience with the Alpine X-Series components ? If so what do you think of them .Just curious on a pros opinion I just picked up a pair of x-series 6x9 ( mids only no tweeters ) for $65
Unfortunately I haven’t used those, but they should be good quality and for that price it’s a bargain. Everything is about the installation, you gotta nail that! 🔊🔊
Hi, I have a complete set of X-series component 6x9´s in the doors of my Honda Accord 2007. I had to stack 3 layers of MDF which is screwed directly into the steel door. I clad the door with sound deadening. And the door side is basically just sitting like a cover over it, as I cut a hole for the 6x9 to go in. It works but I dont feel like they are giving great mid bass. I am sure it has to do with my installation, and not the speakers themselves. Maybe they need more volume than what they get in my doors. I´m driving them with a Helix 4-channel amp. Although I think I´m just using 2 of the 4 channels. I bought the Helix and the type-X´s as part of a kit secondhand but unused. They were originally bought for some kind of Nissan Navara or something that has 6x9 in the front doors stock. The original X-series crossovers only limit the tweeter, and does not interfere with the mids, not sure how this affects the sound in my car in particular. I would guess you might get some interference between the tweeters and the mids but maybe not.
Oh and as well - AMT/RIBBONS/Planars and speakers with a Kapton former (the stuff used to thermal protect space crafts tiles...) are exponential faster than ANY conventional dome drivers - there is simply no comparrison between the types they are on a whole other level, on a league of their own. but... it is also a matter of taste.
@@pssound9749 Hey Peter, not sure why I do not see the original reply written earlier - I would like to recommend as well testing planars such as the NEO3 or even "aliexpress" stuff such as the small "sounderlink" planars - they are very cheap but AMAZING value in return.
@@RennieAsh Their mass is much smaller than a cone speaker and as well the reason they can go up to frequencies such as 40-50KHz are exactly because of their speed... This is exactly what it means - if most dome tweeters can get up to 20-25KHz at most (and don't expect them to have easy life there)., The main thing about AMTs or RIbbons or Planars is how effortlessly they produce the high notes and how natural they sound - try them sometimes they are awsome!!! And @pssound9749 I did not mean by any way to downsize or unrespect ANY speaker - on the other hand I think that your line of AMT by Mundorf are high-end stuff, if you ever consider to offer a entry level line then that is why I've suggested to test some smaller planars (which are very easy to install in cars as well - for sure not the bigger ones).
Because we have worked with all those speaker brands in the last 8 years? That is exactly why we have real world experience to be transparent about everything we use or what we don’t use and we have thousands of people globally who trust us for a good reason! If you do a bit of research about AMT speaker technology, you’ll soon realise that what we explain in this video about our tweeters is not just made up! Yes, you may have a problem with the title like some others, but you wouldn’t have a problem hearing a system with these drivers! ✌🏼
🤦♂️ That's just a mundorf AMTU60W1.1 with a shaved down faceplate. There is nothing different between the performance specs of the AMTU60W1.1 and these, and the variation IS NOT worth an additional $600 🥴 Just conpare the specs side by side. Seriously. He'll try to tell you there is all this fairy dust inside of them that makes them different..... No, no there isnt! 😂
You surely know best! Funny how you probably didn’t even watch the video, otherwise you’d know we didn’t talk about any “fairy dust”. It’s clearly stated what’s our version is about. ✌🏼
It is exactly the same. Anyone can source the specs from the AMTU60W1.1 and these and compare. Nothing is different other than a smaller faceplate and a couple other modifications. Its still the same AMT. Not worth $600 more. Buy them from Masori for less.

I hope to day be able to experience one of your installs mate, let alone a driver that you're willing to put your name/business to.
God I need these.
These with some BMR speakers like a Philharmonic BMR for car audio?🤔
Is it a metal grill and if so would tiny neodymium magnets mess with it at all? They'd be embedded in a grill and be magnetized to the tweeter
I have the Micro Precision 7 series tweeter and it's the last tweeter I'll ever need too ! :)

Say no more ! Ordering a set tomorrow
is it more advantageous to rely on them for high freq on their own, or supplement them into a 3-way to pick up the existing tweeters falloff?
Very awesome, I am already sold. Would my Audison Voce Quattro amp be good enough? Or will these drivers need another level of sound quality amps?
The aiming of tweeters plus the tuning are more important. You should be fine with the current amps if they work fine.
