The 2016 makeup looks soooooo much better! I still carve TF out of my brows with concealer. It just looks better. IMO, 2016 is more glamourous, evening makeup whereas 2024 is more natural, daytime makeup. Great video!

For my everyday job look, I just use concealer for under my eyes and I throw on some powder bronzer for my eyelids and as my contour. I also no longer “bake.” I do not like the dewy look for my oily skin, so I prefer to still have the matte look. My foundations are still matte foundations when I do decide to have a full beat face.
In 2016 the trends were challenging for me as I was never a big full coverage girl. I always felt less is more. However the look was always beautiful. For 2024 I love being comfortable…in clothes, shoes and makeup. I love it!
Personally, I don't pay attention to the trends. I think makeup is supposed to be about you and what makes you feel beautiful. I've never believed in "rules" in regard to makeup and clothing. Style is personal.

I feel like 2016 was more product intensive and that's because all the "big" beauty RUclipsrs were trying to hawk as many products as they could with their partner codes (that they usually didn't even disclose)! I'm still glad i learned all those techniques though, because I feel like it made me a more rounded makeup user and now I'm able to pick and choose what I use for my daily routine. My fave? 2024 for work/daily, 2016 for special occasions/date night.

2016 makeup is great for photographs/video when there are bright studio lights on the face. But I think 2024 makeup looks better in person. It’s not as cakey and you don’t see as much texture on the skin.

On a day to day basis, I only have sunscreen (which gives natural glow for my skin), lip tint as lip colour and blush, and my eye brow done. 😊 please do more of beginner friendly 2024 makeup please
I like the 2024 look. Less steps, still pretty. It was cute when you referred to the blushes back in the day. You did have to look for more pigmented blushes, but they were there. Now go back to my “back in the day”, when you only had light pink & light peach. Lipstick on your cheeks was a whole thing. 🤣

In 2016 the whole world was contouring, that was just too much for me, but the matte make-up was awesome. For now, I do like the glowing make-up but sometimes it looks and feels sticky. There's less inspiration in 2024, but that's part of the trend I guess.

I have 2016 tendencies because that’s when makeup was huge on RUclips BUT I love 2024 results.
For 2024 i think we use more like pink eyeshadow, or maybe we the younger people do like who born in 2000 or closer usually use pinky colors 😊
