so i played this in 8th grade for Honor Band, and we only had one oboe and one bassoon. so seeing how important the oboe is in this piece, i see that she did suchhhhh a good job under the pressure and with everything!!!

    00:00 Conductor walk-on and applause
    00:13 I. Allegro pesante
    02:25 II. Adagio mesto
05:30: III. Allegro spumante (Without break from II)
As straight-faced as the conductor is, he pulled a Leonard Bernstein gesture when he cued the little percussions at about 6:35. Look like a lot of fun to play!

I enjoyed playing this piece back in high school. I played the clarinet. (Pendleton Heights High School, Pendleton, IN...class of 1994.)

I played this in HS band 43 years ago. Such wonderful memories.
Hearing this for the first time in decades, had I had not known otherwise, I would have guessed it to be a Danny Elfman composition!

I can't help but mention, It feels like in some parts of the second movement it just felt like it was rushed. But It was composed greatly and you should be extremely proud of your band!!! 10/10 performance

Absolutely love this piece. Of all my clinic bands (6) in HS, this chart ranks #2 after the band transcription of Tchaikovsky's 4th Finale. The 3rd movement is an absolute hoot. And finally, after 26 years, I get to play it again. Our local community band is working this up for our concert in April. Somehow I don't think it'll be as good as this band though - they rocked it.

1st movement sounds like grasswalk from PvZ

i thought i was the only person who also assumed it had a relation to PvZ bc the bd asked us what it reminded us of and they didnt mention it
