Thank you very much, brother 🙏. You, Justin and Greg keep rubbing in that warm weather and I’ll be making surprise road trip visits for some bbq lol. Cheers, brother!
Thank you so much for your videos. I recently bought a Camp Chef Woodwind wifi 24. I followed your videos on briskets and ribs. Super helpful and well explained. Briskets have come out amazing, juicy, tender and a little bark! Ribs were the same. We enjoy the bite-off-the-bone style as well 👍. Cheers. Andrew from Woonona, Australia.
I just got a wifi Camp Chef SG and followed this video for my first cook. I did everything the same, including going to town for a bit. Famous Dave's Rub and the works. I started at 5AM and cooked for 7 hours. I finally had to kick it up to 275 for the last hour to get to 201 degrees. They ended up just as you described. Very good. Very little drip. I think the bark holds a lot of the juices inside. I must say I was very impressed. I did use lumber Jack Competition pellets, because they are close by and have a good price. They worked great. Wonderful smoke ring. Thanks for sharing and I have subscribed!
I JOINED YOUR CHANNEL TODAY, THOSE RIBS LOOK SO DELICIOUS I LOVE RIBS, THANKS FOR SHARING THIS AWESOME VIDEO I REALLY ENJOYED WATCHING, KEEP UP THE INCREDIBLE WORK
From the other side of the planet (New Zealand) those ribs looked absolutely fantastic. Thanks for sharing your technique. Great to see a family enjoying the bbq together as well. Yum !
Just purchased my Woodwind 24, haven't yet even fired it up!. I do enjoy your videos. Good Job! I especially like your style, very humble, very real and 'Down to Earth'. What's that white stuff on the ground? .I'm a 'Florida Boy' and where you are looks WAY to cold for me. I'll be checking out more of your videos. Thanks. Steve
lol thank you very much 🙏. He enjoyed them and is eating normally again now thank goodness. They really wrenched him this time. It took like five days for him to not live on milkshakes lol.
The LSG is really a bad ass bbq machine. Not many cookers can compete with that deep bbq wood flavor. The pellet grills do a good job though and are much easier to use.
@@EverydayBBQ most people I know have a pellet grill and they all enjoy them. Right now I just have a Weber Kettle and I love it, but I'm looking to upgrade. I'm thinking either Camp Chef, Weber Summit or LSG.
Mike I remember your overnight cook with your son(don't remember how long ago that was)but man your son is almost as tall as u are!Glad to see you use the CC again,I have the SG Pro 24 wifi and I love it
Thank you for the informative video. I going to smoke ribs for the first time on my new Woodwind Pro. Any changes to your instructions when smoking St. Louis style ribs versus Baby Back?
Thank you for the video! Just got a CampChef SG24 Wifi, this'll be my first cook on it. I didn't see in the instructions or comments but, what smoke level do you use?
I remember those days after getting my braces tightened. Not fun. Great of you to do that for him! Also good to see that glow again. Better days ahead man!
I have that exact same grill. They’re not as good on that cooker but it can be done and they do turn out nice! Light the far right burner and adjust it to where the cooker will run at 225-250. Remove the membrane from the ribs, season them, place them on the top rack as far to the left side as possible. Place a water pan Directly underneath the ribs and place around an inch of water and some apple juice in it. You may also use a smoke tube to help if you have one. Allow them to cook for a couple hours (rotate every hour so the right side doesn’t get more heat than the left) until the outside texture begins to harder and get firm enough to here you can’t scratch the rub off. Wrap them in foil, face down, add brown sugar, butter, more rub and some apppe juice to the foil then wrap it tightly and place it back on the grill. Allow them to cook till tender, probably around 2 hours. You can now unwrap and place back on the grill for a bit with bbq sauce. Give that 30 minutes and serve and enjoy. .
Your ribs came out great! I tried this and mine were still uncooked in some parts. I cant get ribs to cook well on this grill. The same one you have. I have called Camp Chef and can't get through for tech support. I have tried ribs on this grill 7 times and they just don't cook right. Could it be the pellets? I didnt have these issues on my treager, I really want to like this grill. Appreciate any help.
All I can say is the way I did it in this video is pretty much the way I do it all the time. It’s really not hard. Unpackage, remove or score membrane, season, place on preheated cooker. Either 275 for around 4 hours or high smoke for around 6. Check temperature in several places with an instant read thermometer. If you want them super tender, go 210 degrees F or even a few more degrees. If you want them bite off the bone, go 195-201 degrees F. Then rest them for a bit in foil and a cooler. That’s really it.
i have watched your review of the Weber EX6, and this video of yours. I am in the market for a SMOKER. don't need a grill. i take it that you would recommend the Camp Chef over the Weber????? thanks
Very relaxing watching this Mike, i agree with the scored membrane like a bonus addition:) Nice to see the weather warming up over there looks like will be in for some more cooks over the next few months.
Remember that ALL cooks can vary mainly because of the meat. Ribs are different sizes and some can be more finicky than others about getting tender. As long as you’re patient, they will finish and be great.
I hope your son doesn't have any pain! I like the membrane on the bottom of baby backs! Like you said it tastes like a thin jerkey. I have my notification bell on but I haven't gotten a vid from you in a long time!

Mike those ribs looked amazing!! Nice and simple is key sometimes. That smoke ring was on point!! Great video brother. The kids are getting big. Enjoy every moment.
I have the pit boss pro. I found it to start showing smoke for a minute then stop then start again then stop through the whole cook, it had in my opinion a very weak Smokey flavor. Do you have any of these issues
All pellet grills work that way. I’ve never had any complaints about flavor but if you’re used to an offset or stick burner, pellet grills will never be like those.
I just tried the Franklin BBQ method for spare ribs which is 2 hours smoke followed by 2 hours wrapped in foil at about 270 degrees. The flavor was good but it was a little over done for me. I prefer, like you, a little bite to my ribs. Next time I’ll try a lower temp and leave them unwrapped. Did you spritz the ribs during the cook? Also your son may or may not realize the sacrifice his parents have given to eventually give him a great smile but as a parent who spent thousands of dollars for his daughters smile I know it’s not easy. She doesn’t know the resources it took and that’s ok, I’d do it again tomorrow if needed. Be rest assured you’ll see your son’s great smile when he’s 28 and feel a small sense of pride. Good job Dad.
Thank you very much, Wayne 🙏. No spritzing needed and you can still achieve a great texture. You can spritz if you prefer though. I normally don’t to keep it easy and the results speak for me.
That was cool to see your son eating those with a look on his face that those were the best ribs ever. Hope it helped take his mind off the teeth, at least for a little while.
Have you done Chicago style barbecue? You've done Chicago dogs, Chicago barbecue is rib tips, hot links (from Moo and Oink if possible) on top of french fries and white bread. Sauced with a thin sauce, because it's barbecue sauce, not barbecue gravy.

Definitely no wrap, they look delicious

I’ve done Chicago foods but no specific Chicago bbq.
