i just ordered a new helmet that apparently comes with this, and had no idea what it was or how to install it. thanks for this video SB! now i will know what to do if i use it/install it
For cold weather riding, there is nothing better than the pinlock shield. The only downside is that it creates a little bit of glare at night with the oncoming lights. But I could deal with the glare so that I could avoided the shield fog. Good luck Outie!
+Doticaster Absolutely. Fogginess is definitely a thing of the past. But I have also noticed that at night, the pinlock kind of distorts street lights/headlights. It creates an almost twinkling effect. It's not terrible but definitely noticeable at first. I'm getting to the point where I'm not even noticing this any more.
The cams can be a real pain once they start to give a little. That's why I stopped using pin-locks. Do you usually wear a yellow visor? I tried one for a few months until I realised just how much I was missing. I'd do a ride, come back home to watch the Vlog I'd just recorded and think to myself, it wasn't that bright and colourful while I was riding, was it? Haha. Visor change. Well performed bud.
+Rob Ash This is my first Pinlock shield so we'll see how it goes. And this is also my first yellow visor. I have honestly been a little disappointed with it at night. In the day, I find myself squinting as I miss my tinted shield. Sigh...we'll see...
The protective film on my pinlock didn't have a sticker telling me to remove the film, so I didn't, and it's like riding with your eyes squinting. And at night the street and car lights look like a fireworks display. It's only when the film started to scratch that I realized my rookie error :)
+GreenApples Great question! I should've explained. It keeps your shield from fogging up by creating an air-filled space between the shield and the pinlock insert. It is like a double panned window (if this makes sense). It actually works great!
good job bud!!!! They can be a bit tricky to hold and not get a fingerprint on it......... I feel as though I have seen this before though........ maybe I am psychic or just plain crazy........ lol ;-)
+Andy Pandy Motovlogs Yeah, I had posted this on Facebook a while back. Just thought that would go ahead and put it up on RUclips as well. But I also think that you are also psychic! Ha!
In the daytime, the pinlock system is amazing! At night, I find that headlights and streetlights look like twinkling stars. It is not that bad but it is definitely noticeable. I certainly have gotten used to it and feel that it is better than dealing with nighttime fogging issues.
primary function is to create a better seal around the rubber that seats against the visor when closed. secondary function is that it serves as a good lubricant for the visor hinges. neither application requires that much, so the little bottle should last a while.
+Luis Vasquez In the daytime, I notice zero glare. It is absolutely perfect. But at night, I notice the headlights/streetlights have an almost twinkling effect to them. It is not terrible and I've definitely gotten used to it, but it is still there. All in all, it was a good purchase and worth buying (for me anyway).
You legend, Made that look so easy. Well done Sir
+MrCods. :-) Thanks brother Codsy!
Thank you!!! Short and sweet to the point
finally a video that explains it fast and simple
Right on! I'm glad it was helpful.

@@SoopaBee You are not supposed to use the pinlock at night
You'll love the pin lock. They work a treat. No more foggyness, lol. ✊

Wow didn't know how easy it was. Noice!!
+Raging Ranga Oz I've heard people complain about the installation but mine went surprisingly well!
Cool, never seen that done before!
+Hawk Girl (Misty Varner) My first time. It actually was a bit easier than I thought!
This was helpful. Thanks!
You made it look so easy ^^
+Keith Wong It actually was much easier than I thought!
Great vid bro!!
+docmanrides1 Thanks Doc! Hope all is well with you.
All is good bro, can't wait to be back on two!!!
Truly, I have not seen these before.
+MotorcycleTherapy It creates a "double paned window" effect to prevent your shield from fogging up. It actually works really well!
Very nice, hey us Aussies were just approved to wear EU Standard Lids, that is opening all kinds of doors

Where can you get different color visors for Shoei?

+Triumf Ant That is actually pretty funny!
You could've put one end under your calf if you would cross one leg over the other with alot less strain
+Marcus460 Great suggestion! If I ever get another, I might try that!
What dose the Pinlock do? I haven't seen it before??

no, I was right, crazy hahahaha I knew I had seen it before though :-)
I think you should try juggling now.
+NewZona Rides Now THAT I would've failed at!
How does it work?
How are you finding it?

+SoopaBee I did notice lights doubling up near the edges when I first used one but I don't notice it any more.
Well damn mine came with my helmet and I touched the silicone and that side not knowing wtf it actually was
What is the silicon oil for?
+Matthew H ? What oil are you referring to?

who's here wait for the crack sound lol
So that's what that is for haha
+NiftyBacon It sure is!
I think you install it the wrong way lol The seal you took off needs to be against the visor not the other way
my mam work in that company
Well, I think you put it the wrong way. The protector film side should be oriented to the shield, not to face ...
pioneersaigon no he did it correctly. You can see a little silicone seal that should be between the visior
instructions were not clear dropped my chicken nuggets in my gas tank
+Luis Vasquez I, um...yeah. ;-)
All kidding aside how is the glare?
