Congrats Jodie on your first win. Basingstoke station is right next to the town so has a lot of drunks hanging around outside, use to work there and seen that bush many a times lol
I remember seeing James Acaster many moons ago at a comedy club in Peckham, South London, before he was making a name for himself and still to this day, I hadn't ever laughed harder at live stand up gig. Also he is a humbled, respectful and genuine guy. The absurdity of the British is a really funny clip from James Acaster.
4:41 you’re absolutely right, we all have a friend that just cracks us up looking at them, James does it for me too. I think both of the clips you have seen are in the compilation but always worth a rewatch😂👍🏽great reaction both🫶🏽
I missed the last train once in Switzerland (I went to high school there) and slept my my ex gf on the stairs of the train station's basement carpark. It was freezing and waited there like 4-5 hours till the first morning train comes. It was almost winter so we were fully dressed for the cold but it was still a struggle
I used to often take the last train from Manchester Picadily to Leeds (via Stockport) on a friday. If I missed it it was 5 hours to the next one. I'd have killed for a bush!
Don't get too hung up on one person in Wilty, there are so many good guest. Please consider the compilation Claudian chicanery, if need be do it in two parts. Try Sarah Pasco and her suspicious flight. Itwould be a crime to not get round to any of Hennig Whenn's stories or those of Greg Davies.
James had previously told this story on a tv show called 'Alan Davies : As Yet Untitled ', and he explained the details a bit better, including the red dress he wore lol.
It's very rare you see James Acaster smile/ laugh to be fair. I love him!! He was so funny in Taskmaster too!! Ypu should do his reactions on that show! Haha
I've slept and woken up on drive ways, back and front gardens of people I don't know? Also parks and golf courses but you always seek shelter.. great videos. Cheer's 🇬🇧
Never seen anything I didn't like with James Acaster in it. Jon Richardson too. And of course you both know David Mitchell already. Sean Lock was also great in everything he's done.
James is one of my favourite comedians. Very original. The one on his enemy hilarious. Say his name as Aycaster. Stress on the A. Trains don't usually run over night here. so he was stuck there for the night. There's one about a fireman battle on New Year's Eve, which is also hilarious.
Great Reaction but he explained everything b4 the verdict. He missed the last train. Had no money.Needed to sleep somewhere until the next (morning ? ) train and a bush was as good as it got.
I don't know the train schedule in Basingstoke, but a lot of train stations, especially smaller ones, won't have any trains after about 9 to 10pm until 5 or 6am, so if you miss the last train, you probably are stuck there. Also there was no further explanation in that episode I don't think, so you didn't miss anything.
The only time I have been 100% sure of a true story....... I used to work in Alencon House, directly opposite that station, and catch a train every day. He described it perfectly.
James Acaster is good but David Mitchell is tremendous. Being British, I'm fortunate to have watched so many comedy and panel shows as well as stand up. You two would love QI. My favourite is 8 out of 10 Cats does countdown. Then there's so many others. We are truly blessed 😂
Agree mostly paul, Loved QI when Stephen Fry was at the helm because he kept Alan under control but havent been able to watch as Sandi lets him go, 8 Out of 10 cats is hilarious but the countdown version has too much panto type cringe humor, Shows like mock the week insert name here, Have i got news for you and would i lie to you are brilliant
lived in Basingstoke all my life, first time I heard this I was sure it was true, lots of people leaving the pubs at night queue at the taxi rank right there,
His name is pronounced like Hay-caster, but without the "H". Hope that helps guys. Btw, love the way you try to make sense of James's weird statements. keep it up. First thing I do in the morning is check if you've done any new videos, so please don't disappoint me in the future, lol.😂😂🤩🤩🤗🤗
Given I watch would I lie to you on a regular basis this one must have aired while was hospital a few years ago. So I admit I missed this one. But these are the best ones because of the dead pan face he gives out.
You need to watch anything with James Acaster, Lee Mac, Peter Kay, Alan Davies or the wonderful Sean Lock. There are many more fantastic British comedians but these will get you started. Enjoy your trip into our way of thinking.
David asks, "How can you go to sleep sitting up?" This is a question I always asked my mum when she nodded off, but now I have reached a certain ripe old age, believe me it's very easy. Especially in front of the TV, which is actually very annoying as I often miss the end of a programme. I'm now sounding like James.
I think the bench would generally be warmer than a bush as the insulation from a bench comes from being off the ground while sitting in a bush the cold transfer from the ground would be grim, the advantage of the bush is concealment especially if he was wearing a dress but deffinately colder ;)
James Acaster said that he had no money in his wallet to pay for a hotel room, my questions is, didn't he have a credit or debit card that could have used?
Compilations ruin comedy reactions, they're always out of context, edited too short, and all the shows they are from get spoiled so they can't be used later in full reactions.
Slept in a great bush once in Monaghan...next to the Sligo roundabout during the blues festival 30 years ago!.... busy bushes are great... just watch your snoring level people ..... privacy counts!!
Congrats Jodie on your first win.
Basingstoke station is right next to the town so has a lot of drunks hanging around outside, use to work there and seen that bush many a times lol
It's 'A-caster' (stress on the first syllable), not 'eh-CASterrr'
I remember seeing James Acaster many moons ago at a comedy club in Peckham, South London, before he was making a name for himself and still to this day, I hadn't ever laughed harder at live stand up gig.
Also he is a humbled, respectful and genuine guy.
The absurdity of the British is a really funny clip from James Acaster.
Where was a comedy club in Peckham?
@@robertphelps1574 bussy rooftop bar. It's not a comedy club as such they have comedy nights. Really affordable prices too
@@charliecosta3971 I will have to go there soon as I live locally
@@robertphelps1574 it's on rye Lane... I'm in New Cross.
@@charliecosta3971 I was in Sainsbury’s new cross last night but I live in Nunhead
I absolutely love James, what a guy. The more of him the merrier
4:41 you’re absolutely right, we all have a friend that just cracks us up looking at them, James does it for me too. I think both of the clips you have seen are in the compilation but always worth a rewatch😂👍🏽great reaction both🫶🏽
Glad you enjoyed that one, Melvin seemed to be obsessed with the bench and how he was adamant it would be warmer 😂
To this day, I think he might have thought it was in the winter and the ground was very cold, which is why you might choose the bench over the bush.
@@rasmusn.e.m1064even then the bush would be warmer cause it would insulate you from the cold ground. If it's a metallic bench even more so.
You have to do ALL of Bob Mortimer's appearances. He's a joy.
James' four part netflix special is genius.
James Acaster has had so much weird stuff happen to him, he’s literally written a book about it.
James Acaster was brilliant on Taskmaster. I’m sure there must be a compilation on here somewhere. You’d love it and the show in general.
You have to watch his stand up. There's a great British museum one 😁👍
He did explain it... missed train, sat in bush, cold wearing dress, thugs, bag, survived 😂
❤from North East England ❤️
It feel like James and Bob Mortimer have the best stories
His rant on the British Museum is hilarious!
I missed the last train once in Switzerland (I went to high school there) and slept my my ex gf on the stairs of the train station's basement carpark. It was freezing and waited there like 4-5 hours till the first morning train comes. It was almost winter so we were fully dressed for the cold but it was still a struggle
James is hilarious 😂, you'd like a sketch he does about the British museum! It's one of the funniest things I've seen 🤣
Totally agree my friend, it's brilliant!!
The thing is, I've genuinely spent a night in a bush after a halloween party waiting for the the 4am train leaving fenchurch street.
Yes, i agree, i have watched these by james and never get tired of them. Great review you guys.❤
Love the WILTY reactions! gives me a good laugh haha
I used to often take the last train from Manchester Picadily to Leeds (via Stockport) on a friday. If I missed it it was 5 hours to the next one. I'd have killed for a bush!

100% agree with your suggestions
Greg & Henning 👏🏻👍🇬🇧
Omg the horse story is a must
I like Claudia but she does my head in on WILTY😑😂
Yes Henning’s onion story
Try his stand up..British museum bit is class..✌️
Great reaction I look forward to joining you on your James Acaster journey
You HAVE to watch his 4 part special, he is incredible!!
James had previously told this story on a tv show called 'Alan Davies : As Yet Untitled ', and he explained the details a bit better, including the red dress he wore lol.
There used to be waiting rooms on every station but not usually at 'halts'.
James’ Specials are good❤
His name is pronounce Ay-caster, list Able, Atrium, etc
His name is pronounced Acaster, with the emphasise on the "A". I wish he had his own internet tv show.
Because then he'd be James Podcaster.
It's very rare you see James Acaster smile/ laugh to be fair. I love him!! He was so funny in Taskmaster too!! Ypu should do his reactions on that show! Haha
0:25 ahhh 👏 good one Nick.. now you can stop sayin' it 😉... love the videos 👌
Thank you for sharing this ✅👵❤ 🇬🇧
I've slept and woken up on drive ways, back and front gardens of people I don't know? Also parks and golf courses but you always seek shelter.. great videos. Cheer's 🇬🇧

He described Kettering Station!
one of my fav ones :))
As kids (13/14/15?years of age we would train out as we called it. Sleep rough, wonder the streets and it was awesome.
James is one of my favourite comedians. Very original. The one on his enemy hilarious. Say his name as Aycaster. Stress on the A. Trains don't usually run over night here. so he was stuck there for the night. There's one about a fireman battle on New Year's Eve, which is also hilarious.
You are going to love watching him breakdown on Taskmaster.
James Acasters stand up is brilliant
Great Reaction but he explained everything b4 the verdict.

That was a good one Nick
Try to find some of James' stand-up especially when he was on Jury Duty or the one about the British Museum.
James expressions are just serious. Theyre definitely not mad or angry.
Would like to see you do the compilations, these feel too short lol
Love your reaction, 🇬🇧
The only time I have been 100% sure of a true story....... I used to work in Alencon House, directly opposite that station, and catch a train every day. He described it perfectly.
James Acaster Wilty - Disappointed Christmas is the best one.
James Acaster is good but David Mitchell is tremendous.
Being British, I'm fortunate to have watched so many comedy and panel shows as well as stand up.
You two would love QI.
My favourite is 8 out of 10 Cats does countdown.

The wittiest Panel player was Alan Coren,The Late Editor of "Punch" and Victoria and Giles' Father.
James skit about the absurdity of the British empire is fun......
James spice girls story and fireman ones from a Xmas special of would I lie to you is hysterical
Having been to Basingstoke railway station numerous times, I knew straight away that James was telling the truth.
lived in Basingstoke all my life, first time I heard this I was sure it was true, lots of people leaving the pubs at night queue at the taxi rank right there,

Great reaction as always! 👍 Henning Wehn next?
I can tell you, I've slept on a bench on Peterborough platform in a suit and a fish tale jacket, and I've still been absolutely freezing
Weren't there any nearby bushes as a better alternative?
It is A caster as in the letter A and not A as in apple
Wilty or wonty. Keep at it. There is gold in there somewhere.
Try "wilty James Acaster fireman keterring". This was his best story yet.
Not sure if you know but 'bush" is slang for a lady's parts here in the UK, which adds an extra layer of humour for those in the know. 😂😂😂
Does nick knows? He does allllrighhhttt every video. It’s getting weirder by every video 😂
I think he meant Amazingstoke 😂
Given I watch would I lie to you on a regular basis this one must have aired while was hospital a few years ago. So I admit I missed this one. But these are the best ones because of the dead pan face he gives out.
Another great WILTY guest is Rhod Gilbert.
Having gotten so drunk in my teenage years that i have indeed slept in a bush (& a bench for that matter); this clip always resonates with me 🤡
Which one was warmer ???
James Acaster is fantastic, there's a great story about when he tried to drown himself
James Acaster is Hilarious!
Check out The Russell Howard Hour.
You need to watch anything with James Acaster, Lee Mac, Peter Kay, Alan Davies or the wonderful Sean Lock. There are many more fantastic British comedians but these will get you started. Enjoy your trip into our way of thinking.
Wilty or won't he is actually a really funny pun. Keep it it's funny 😅
I think the word to describe Acaster is irascible or cantankerous, not angry... He's on the road to angry but never actually gets there...
Or maybe, it's his comedic sctick...
George W senior or junior ?
Melvin isn't the brightest person on this clip! 😂😂😂
David asks, "How can you go to sleep sitting up?" This is a question I always asked my mum when she nodded off, but now I have reached a certain ripe old age, believe me it's very easy. Look up James Acaster classic scrapes
Wilty or wonty…
Wa wa waaaaaaaaa
James’ surname is pronounced ay as day caster.
Greg Davies is also very good on this show x
I have found the film 9n RUclips, james is sat in a station with a lady in a red dress
HAVE YOU TRIED JAMES ACASTER WITH THE BRITISH EMPIRE SKIT ?? THATS VERY FUNNY 😊
James Acaster said that he had no money in his wallet to pay for a hotel room, my questions is, didn't he have a credit or debit card that could have used?
He mate of my sisters husbands James is
What you saying he did explain he missed the last train and his phone had died he had no. money
What explanation are you looking for ?
🤣 of you think this is funny you should find the story about him & a small boy & cabbages it's the bomb😂🤣
Kettering, James' home town is 7 miles from me. He's not bad for a sheep shagger !
You can safely stop repeating the Wilty joke
Please don’t watch a compilation they lose context and leave you wanting the whole thing
💯 with you all way, my favourites are This is My
good one nick, now stop saying it.
James never laughs, even with his stand up comedy.
Compilations ruin comedy reactions, they're always out of context, edited too short, and all the shows they are from get spoiled so they can't be used later in full reactions.
Very Boring indeed. 😒
Slept in a great bush once in Monaghan...next to the Sligo roundabout during the blues festival 30 years ago!.... busy bushes are great... just watch your snoring level people ..... privacy counts!!
