Did you mention that part of Reagan's Iran Contra deal was that Iran would hold the American hostages until he took office so he could take credit? This resulted in the American hostages being held even longer than they would have been.
OK, here is something a bit more intelligent to say about the topic: in "Arsenals of Folly" (R.Rhodes), Reagan is described as having an "anecdotic, rather than academic, understanding of history". In the light of the podcast, I think it is quite fitting.
A friend of mine has connections in the US military. He told me just the other day that Oliver North got by 2 Section 8 inquiries in the Marines. He was certifiable. Very similar to G. Gordon Liddy…. And Iran-Contra was a huge deal that was largely swept under the rug. Reagan and his administration did a lot more damage than they are given blame for.
It’s not the tax cuts but increased government spending and a bulge in demographics! This was the height of a huge baby boom generation entering the workforce, buying cheap cars and houses, and having computer technology to expand American productivity. It was merely a parallel of vectors that converged together.
As a proud American Republican I would like to mention that Reagan's movie, Bedtime For Bonzo, might have been this greatest contribution to our country. The only other Republicans who have starred in a movie with an ape are Clint Eastwood and Charlton Heston If only Trump would do a movie with an ape it would Make America Great Again, or maybe Make Apes Great Again. Americans would "go ape" for this movie.
Snooty little comments like "it was about ten" do your channel no favours. Like or loathe the bad old Orange Man, there were considerably more than 10.
Sorry guys, but the numbers tell a different story about the economy. Especially in 2023. Cutting taxes, lowering regulations, a common monetary policy, and cutting government spending is what keeps a healthy economy. The U.S. just has to service the debt.

This channel is criminally under subscribed

True that.
That's an extremely generous way of putting it. 😄
When I think of RR as US President, I think of Forest Gump. That feel good factor 😊

28:16 C. Everett Koop was a saint!
Woow....first thumb up !
The way you two have stacked as many ads into these amateur commentaries on history is almost commendable.
Bye 👋
Oh lord... No
Do I detect a nasty whiff of TDS here? How profoundly disappointing.
What is TDS
Holland’s liberal zeal spilling into the Atlantic and drifting west….

11?
More than 10 what?
Perhaps this podcast is not for thee 😮
I hate him The fact more stunt speaks to the ignorance of say many of us
Stick to history, guys! Your understanding of economics is missing!

“Cutting taxes is always good even when in worsens the debt in short and long term”
Absolute dogshit that has no bearing on reality
I'm a great fan of Reagonnomics. Spend spend spend spend spend.... spend ...
No mention of Reagan's probably gay son
Why would there be? Gays eat attention.
Why should there be?
Maybe in connection with the AIDs outbreak?
I always found it fainty amusing that "Nancy" Reagan was the wife not the son
It means Trump Derangement Syndrome.
Nicaragua....yes, well, check your pronounciation, you British historians!
