I feel exactly the same way when I lose a big one - I daydream about getting back there and getting redemption. Doesn't matter what kind of fishing you do, if fishing's in your blood, that's the way you are.

The agony and the ecstasy. Went out yesterday, second cast, put a lure into a tree, nearly went home in disgust. Re-tooled and then pulled in a really fat 39cm bream from a heavy snag. You just never know how things will turn out. Keep up the great videos John, they are an inspiration.

Got my first jack on a hard body lure (Rebel Spoonbill ) 35 years ago in that exact spot . The snags come and go over time but the bust offs always hurt ha ha . I haven’t fish there for a few years but good to see the fish are still there with all the pressure they receive these days.
That's why I use 40lb leader and braid on jack now. I used to use 30lb but found it would still rub off on logs and mangrove roots. Upgraded to 40lb and I rarely lose them to sticks, can't do much about oysters though. Nice wobbly thrown though, reminds me of myself! I would have sworn a lot more though.

Hi mate what would be the best colour for the mmd splash prawn in 70mm and next time you go offshore give the zerek speed donkey a go in golden colour with a 9kg Wilson wire trace if you try it troll it around 7-8 knots

Hey Cam. I use small bits of clear cut down tubing from stuff like an artist or hose etc. you can also just use some plastic from a treble pack. Just be careful pushing her onto the jig hook. ;) I’ll have to do a video on it mate. Not sure if it’s in my Zman Diezel Minnowz review on RUclips. Might be worth a look there.
