    I just told myself I was winning in the gas department by having fun with what I have. RUclips said hold my beer and shows me your video. Great job. Off to reverb lol

      Hah! Thanks a lot. Very intuitive little box. Curious to see what you'll do with it if you get it! That being said, don't stop having fun with what you have!

      Blackbox is absolutely amazing machine. Very intuitive and powerful sample workstation. 1010music has improved the firmware so much over the years. So don’t care about GAS. You will not regret.

    nice video, I watched it in 0,25 speed to get a nice tutorial on how to use the blackbox : ) well prepared samples also, will have to build up a nice sample library. continue posting!

      Thank you! This video was to demonstrate how easy it is to get something going on the blackbox. So, believe it or not but I hadn't actually prepared the samples, or anything else, for this video. There will be more blackbox videos up shortly!

      @@johannes.nieuwenhuizen maybe. Would you mind if I resampled this into something else? I have a couple of ideas and this has a great groove to it. I'd give a shout out to your channel if I end up using it.

    Incredible box , we're only limited by our imagination

    • @johannes.nieuwenhuizen
      @johannes.nieuwenhuizen  Год назад +2

      It really is. The more time I spend with it, the more I appreciate it. It seems so simple at first glance but this machine allows you to go as far as, well...your imagination allows you to, like you said! I understand why I'm seeing artists using more than one Blackbox.

    Nice workflow, I also own a blackbox but I’m little bit concerned how to move from one project to another without having to stop the Blackbox, how you would perform for live? I’m interested to know

    Great jam! Amazing little box but I really did not gel with the workflow and hated slicing on it. To be fair though, I didn’t try for long… it was so different from my other machines I just got too frustrated. This makes me wanna another though 😂

    • @johannes.nieuwenhuizen
      @johannes.nieuwenhuizen  Год назад +1

      Thank you! It is a bit different from what I know too, but really almost every time I turn it on I get something good out of it. I like the auto slice feature a lot and I really only slice like that. It is really growing on me so I understand the seller's remorse can be real with this one. Their latest one, Tangerine, seems similar though, for less money. Maybe an option? Cheers

      @@johannes.nieuwenhuizen It's definitely working for you! I like my little electron world/workflow... just missing polyphony ;( I'll look into the tangerine a bit more though it's a bit too small for my taste.

    Hey!I enjoyed watching your creation.But why you resampled that synth sequence?

    • @johannes.nieuwenhuizen
      @johannes.nieuwenhuizen  Год назад +2

      Hey! And thank you 😊 I had no plan going into this video so you're just seeing me trying things out. I was thinking, at the time, that I could try triggering the whole sequence as a clip, like the drums, or using any of the other modes and cutting it up again. I changed my mind in the last second, though. Simply experimenting!

    Any tips on unquantised recording settings would be appreciated? Great track and use of the Blackbox thanks!

  • @snörre23

    I really like the workflow. But you have only one pattern (up to 128 steps) with 16 tracks, correct ? I have never used a DAW and look for a way to do more with my eurorack than just make "patches", somehow arrange stuff, make little sketches, but shy away from getting an expensive computer and learn a DAW from ground up. The simplicity of this speaks more to me than a Digitakt or MPC but i am not sure if its not too limited with not being able to have more patterns like any drum machine would have.

    Great jam! IJust got a blackbox and it really is as awesome as you make it look 👍 I did not expect the midi sequencing to be so useful but what do you know 🙂

    • @johannes.nieuwenhuizen
      @johannes.nieuwenhuizen  Год назад +1

      Thanks for the good words! The sequencer is useful but I prefer using it together with an external one to get most out of it. The touch screen is really good but for creating sequences I prefer something a bit more tactile!

    hey mate, would you recommend blackbox as a portable "crude" daw replacement?

    • @johannes.nieuwenhuizen
      @johannes.nieuwenhuizen  9 месяцев назад +1

      Hey, it would be very crude by itself. Together with a good sound source to sample from, and a more capable sequencer you could have a decent setup.
