I found this very inspiring to start my own pile. Thanks for the information. I have a small red wiggler worm bin and it is very addictive lol now I want to do it at a bigger scale like yours lol
@@annetteorielley833 are you in SA? I noticed that my compost has slowed down dramatically now that the real winter has hit. Something that would be completely broken down in 1 day is still there after 4 days🤔. Are you able to put any kind of animal manure in your heap? That acts as an activator I'm told however I found that enough grass clippings will bring do the job just as well. One can buy a compost activator at the garden centre but I've never bothered. Some folk recommend you task the male members of the household to water 😜 the heap a couple of times...First thing in morning is apparently most beneficial 😄
I recently started making my own compost, I also have a few worm farms and I totally agree - compost making is addictive🌱
Wow! That is amazing! I've never got it right to make Compost. I'll have to give it another try
You absolutely need to try making compost again! So worth it 👌🏻

@@elvisbesewing thanks so much for watching! I hope you are able to make many successful compost piles!🪱
Really good and informative video. Thanks!
Thank you!
Great job, I take my kitchen scraps in a old 1kg margarine container and seal it until I find some fungus forming, then I put it on my heap.
I have actually done this in lock down. It was a small pile and work. I started another 1 a week ago
I am so pleased that one can do it with a small pile! The thought of turning a huge heap put me off for years😄
I keep following quick composting but no matter what materials i use it does not break down,I cannot generate heat.

i can't do the physical work. will have to figure another way i guess.
Ah that is unfortunate 😕 just piling the materials as you get it works as well just takes a couple of months.
I’d say it’s too dry, way too dry. More water and you get better compost faster.
@@cherylhowker1792 thanks for the tip👍🏻
