Drunk Beachgoer Arrested for Disorderly Conduct in Sea Bright, NJ

- On June 17, 2023 around 6:24 PM, Patrolwoman Alexa Susino with the Sea Bright Police Department was dispatched to the Surfrider Beach Club at 931 Ocean Avenue for a report of an intoxicated male subject who had urinated on the beach. Upon arrival, the club members showed her the location of the cabana and informed her that the subject was not a member. Numerous members of the club had witnessed the subject urinating in public. As Patrolwoman Susino approached the cabana, she made contact with the subject, who was identified as Pascal. His girlfriend Julissa was also there with him.
Patrolwoman Susino informed him that he was on the beach club’s private property, and he could not be there. Patrolwoman Madison Taylor arrived on scene shortly afterwards to assist, and spoke with the other witnesses. After the officers interviewed several other witnesses, Pascal was informed that he would be placed under arrest. He was placed into custody by Special Officer Gandolfo and transported by Patrolwoman Taylor back to the Sea Bright Police Department. His girlfriend Julissa was given a courtesy transport back to the Sea Bright Police Department as well so that she could wait for her boyfriend to be processed.
At police headquarters, Patrolwomen Susino and Taylor worked on processing him and completing the paperwork related to this arrest. After they were finished with their paperwork, Pascal was released pending his court appearance. He was issued a summons for the following: Local Ordinance 91-2r (Urinating in Public), Local Ordinance 91-2m (Disorderly Person), and Disorderly Conduct (2C:33-2(a))

Super. 13, the Appellate Division of the Superior Court has also affirmed the right to film law enforcement interactions.

Cops are officers of the court which makes their eyes and ears key witnesses to every incident. The more officers to testify the more likely a charge is not dismissed. The word you're looking for is "system". This is a result of State/Prosecutor lawyers being incompetent overall.

Also, people at the beach are notorious for ganging and attacking officers when trespassing or arresting someone due to over drinking at the beach area. The one’s extremely incompetent and ignorant are the ones criticizing a system they do not understand or take the time to understand the law.
So on camera they say in new jersey they can’t arrest someone off hearsay they have to see it but then someone comes up and says something and all a sudden they get arrested? lol wow!

Lesson here is that if you maintain good behavior and not act like an entitled toddler in police presence,not resist arrest, and not turn a misdemeanor into a felony, you get to go home same day. Unfortunately, this is not how some police encounters go with drunk people.

There’s a good lesson here. A lesson on what to do when you are involved with the police. Good behavior and cooperation result in a positive outcome for everyone.
I am appalled! This was unnecessary, poor police work. They originally stated because they didn't witness the guy urinating they couldn't do anything. Meanwhile, Kevin in his group drinking alcohol in their cups gathered in a huddle. All of a sudden a man said he witnessed him urinating. The couple came from Alexandria Va. which is a very beautiful area, unknown they ventured into a private area, should had just been trespassed and walked around in the public space until he was sober. What a poor police department enabling a group of entitled people. Very Sad...

NJ is hell. Most beaches you pay for stepping on and you can’t get an inch space in the summer UNLESS you can do $1000 each weekly for these private clubs.

People pay big bucks to be part of that club and rent cabanas. They pay for a clean beach cause the jersey shore can get pretty rank. My Dad used to live here and my aunts family were members. This entire place of sea bright is very uppity. It neighbors an area where all the rich wall street guys live.
Lot of beaches are private. There's no such thing as a "public" beach in the sense that every part of a beach is owned by someone (in public beaches it's the municipality).

AND they were told by members that it was a private beach and refused to leave clearly OR the cops would have never gotten called. If the people in these comments paid for a private beach then some drunk dude pissed in front of your kids and refused to leave after being told the beach was private, you'd be pissed.

I understand the concept of a controlled beach. Many people show up to the Jersey shore and no one wants to pay to maintain the beaches. There are many "free" beach areas, but broken glass, trash, and remnants of last nights bon fires are everywhere. Takes money to offer a clean and safe beachfront, and that money sometimes comes from due paying members.
