pull the trigger on the Yak, I got mine last christmas and have since bought a second for friends and family to use with me along with adding multiple attachments and gear to make my fishing better. I would say it is a happy medium from bank fishing and fishing from a boat. You are under your own power in a Kayak but have more ability to fish hard to reach places in a quicker amount of time.
I just picked up my first kayak (Jackson Kilroy) last weekend. Then the weather went to shit and we're in the 30's and low 40º's... I'll get out there soon
I legit think the googan squad is the most entertaining group on RUclips. even when you guys aren't together, its still fun as hell to watch these. keep up the great B roll too, man. great work!
Cutthroat Fishing lol Kayak fishing is so much better for me tbh, I have found so many cool locations on lakes that I can get out and explore, and you can really get to anywheres on the lake unlike with a boat
Jon B, If youre still reading these comments, I noticed in the last video that we now live on the same street. I'm a huge fan and would love just to even say hi to you, and would really love to go fishing with you and show you all the ponds and cool fishing spots around here.
If you do buy a kayak, I would recommend investing in a Kayak Paddle Taco Grip they are like $5 and super easy to install. They clip the paddle down so that it is out of the way which is great for fishing.
Jon B. Get an old town angler vapor 10, it's a sit in kayak with tons of room to store gear, 2 rod holders, comes with an anchor. By far my favorite kayak
I went out on the 25th and me and my 2 brothers had a productive 27 fish day on jigs, Texas rigs, and a 7lb on a savage gear blue hill swim bait. All in a pond not far from lake fork
If the weather is like in this video the basic jig is the first thing I will try using because it almost always gets bites. They seem to work a lot better when they have little rattlers on them.
Its funny ive just bought a gopro this winter to do some more shooting this year of my buddies and I mountain biking.. stoked to get a bunch of edits going this year and get a better grasp on the editing and learn how to get more creative shots and angles that kind of stuff. The gopro for me was a cheaper option than a fisheye or wide angle lens for my Nikon d5100, and of course allows for povs, which ill be using for fishing as well this summer of course some chesty action on the boat.
Buy one! Kayak fishing can absolutely be as fun as fishing from a bass boat if you fish places where you can't get to in a bigger boat. It's great being able to haul ass up and down a lake, fishing different cover/structure and so forth, but paddling a kayak into some backwater pond in the middle of a swamp can be just as rewarding. Sometimes even more rewarding.
Jon B. I love you bro thanks for the amazing videos. i wish I could come down and visit u guys but i live in colorado. Tell lunkers i love him to and tell peric hes a fricken noob and a scrub. However still enjoy the content and gets his next big 10 pounder that he blamed on you XD
Hey Jon: about getting/using your own KAYAK: choose one that weighs 55 lbs or less: it can get you into launch sites and shallow water bass that are inaccessible by truck/trailer/boat/ramp. I've used a Tarpon 100 for 6 years that way, I'd say it's perfect for any angler under 180 lbs.
I used to sell kayaks. Personally, the best I've ever come across is sold by Dicks Sporting Goods. They have several models that are made for stability. Several models are build for high-sitting and standing but the downside is that they are super heavy (100pounds). If you are looking for a kayak that is super light, buy a "sit-on-top" model. Make sure that it's floatation is at least 1.3 times your actual weight Tight Lines
Dropped Another Good Video bro.. Keep em up stay up stay blessed!!!!. Big fan of u Jon B my fave fishing youtube channel💯💯. Bought the ap bag "rigged" edition by the way . cant wait to get it :)..
I appreciate how genuine Jon is. He caught that tank then estimated it to be 6-7lbs and turned out to be 8lbs. Unlike Peric who yells "OOHH MY GOSHH IT'S A 5 OR 6!!!! OR 7!!! OH MY GOSHHH" and when he goes to put it on a scale, it's a fat belly 3 pounder. So now, whenever I watch Peric, I have this habit to half whatever Peric's estimates are, especially the ones that got off. So yeh.. Great job Jon!
Yes you need to buy a kayak! The serenity of being out on the water on a yak is second to none. Great vid and all I can say is: wear your seatbelt and wear your PFD.
my advice is rent or borrow a couple of kayaks before buying one. there are a lot of different types out there and they are not created equal. I've been yak fishing for a decade now and i'm on my 3rd kayak. finally got it right last time, I bought a lure 13.5 from Austin canoe and kayak. I can step off the dock onto the boat with zero problems, as well as stand and fish for hours. bad news is the price, but you, like myself, can work up to it. good luck!
Marc Campanilla don't buy a vibe sea ghost 130 there junk made from China don't believe me Google it save up your money and buy a real kayak stick with American made myself bonafide ss127
Love the Kayak video Bro! You should definitely do more with it! I just started as well and its been a blast. you can get so much closer with out the fish even knowing you're there
u and lunkers r awesome man ive been catfishing for a while now but u guys got me bassin even my son watches ur videos this will be season 2 for us bass fishin keep it up
Congratulations! And a river fish too-SAUCY! More Kayak action please, had mine on Clinton Lake today in beautiful Illinois. Search "kayak fishing Devil's River" , I would love to see some B-Roll of that killer fishery, and the Toads " Oh My".
I live in texas and go for bass all the time, pond fishing is the best way to go if u wanna catch a big bass or have a good count of 12in and up(I use mostly jigs and senkos)
If you do get a kayak, I've got a spot where you can catch 4+ ponders on a swimjig, just about every cast. I live like 30 minutes from dallas, here in denton.
Hey Jon B i live in San Antonio and a senior in HS. Im actually moving to Waco for school this fall. Maybe see u around but probably not. What i want to study is Mechanical Engineer and work in a diesel factory. been wanting to do that for a while now. And tips for the traffic... dont die and unless u have a fast car stay out of the left lane. no cop no stop. alright peace out!!
Website isn't working for shirts! Great Video! Great Edit. I think I may change the camera angle on my kayak now now lol Jig worked for me this weekend too!
I go and fish there sometimes and I have a video up of when I was there I used a lipless crank bait there. I also don't have a kayak so I fished from the bank and I caught my pb there
Having a kayak changes everything. There are so many opportunities in north Texas for kayaking. The problem is finding the right kayak for you. With so many selections now it gets a little crazy. I'm still leaning towards the Hobie 14 maybe the 2 man 17. It's so big. I know they have a problem team based here in North Texas and a mariner sails in Dallas sponsors 30 miles out. Old Town has a new pedal drive kayak thats supposed to be good. there's a place in North Richland Hills that sells native kayaks.
congratulations Jon on your new pb. I think you should do more kayak fishing. now that you guys live in Texas maybe one day yall can come down to falcon lake in south Texas.
Jon I'm down behind Whitney dam a lot the water looked relatively high at that time. I keep just missing you, showing up in spots the day after you were there. It's crazy man.
Jon b look into a wilderness Systems ATAK 120 or a radar 115. Both have great options for customizability and are great fishing yaks. the radar also has the option to add a pedal drive system later this month. Come up to Idaho and I can put you on some great small mouth places as well as trout places
You guys should go to Dale Hollow Lake. It runs into Kentucky and Tennessee both. Walleye have been running for a couple of weeks and people have been catching smallmouth with eggs up in the rivers that run into the lake so...Try it out and get some footage. God bless and love the content man!!!
Jon I highly suggest that you should buy a kayak before a boat. Although a boat mat seem so much more ideal, kayaks are more fun and always an adventure. Plus, with a kayak you can hike in and fish more remote lakes, creeks, etc.
Jackson Coosa HD. Perfect all arounder. can hit this small creeks that you like to fish for smallies. can have an open floor of you want to fly fish. no pedal drive so you don't need to worry about weeds or shallow water
Notice the green scale that is used sitting on top of the kayak, however he's hanging the fish over the side in the water. Nice little trick to add water weight prior to a weighing. This is why the BASS Masters switch to bags for the weigh in....back in the day they would bring them to the stage in tubs of water then the fisherman would pull out the bass to ensure water was forced to its belly adding weight.
In your vlog yesterday you said you were thinking about a boat. Have you thought about a good fishing kayak like a Hobie that has a hands free system. you seem to like small water and really being close to the fish and that is one of the best ways.
Dude absolutely invest in a kayak. Kayak fishing is my favorite type. You can get to places bigger boats can't, it's fun and relatively easy to rig it up with gear for fishing and filming, it's easy to get away to quiet places, it's definitely worth it in my opinion. One word of advice, though, is that I tend to do better on my kayak with shorter (6'6"-7') rods for better accuracy while sitting down and they have at least a little less i have to worry about getting caught in the trees.
Jon, Must come out to California and fish, Clearlake, Stockton Delta. I have half dozen over 8 and PB is 9.6 I don't fish near as much as you.. You would snag a 10lber with the amount of time you put in.
love kayak fishing. it just takes a little getting used to. all of my biggest fish come when I'm in the kayak. I think it sneaks up on them better than a boat
personally recommend the fs12t or fs128t for the budget minded or if the money aint an issue the jackson big rig like flukemaster uses. only time i use my hobie is if my doin some light offshore stuff when i go to the beach on semi calm days. all of which arent hard to stand in.
pull the trigger on the Yak, I got mine last christmas and have since bought a second for friends and family to use with me along with adding multiple attachments and gear to make my fishing better. I would say it is a happy medium from bank fishing and fishing from a boat. You are under your own power in a Kayak but have more ability to fish hard to reach places in a quicker amount of time.
I think I might have to do it man. Yaks can slip into to waters that big boats cannot.
Jon B. That is very true! Thanks for the reply!
Jon B. Please tell me what are are y'all in now? I'm in woodlands and would love to show you some spot
I just picked up my first kayak (Jackson Kilroy) last weekend. Then the weather went to shit and we're in the 30's and low 40º's... I'll get out there soon
Jon B definitely get the kayak. Kayak fishing beats off-shore and boat fishing by long run.
If you're thinking about investing in a kayak, I highly recommend looking at a Hobie. A little on the expensive side, but they're unreal for fishing.
LOVE seeing you out on a kayak Young Plugg!!! Nothing better than sticking a pig out of a yak! Respect!!!
3 years later your killing it
I legit think the googan squad is the most entertaining group on RUclips. even when you guys aren't together, its still fun as hell to watch these. keep up the great B roll too, man. great work!
Awesome seeing you kayak fishing! that's all I do! and I have the same paddle
Agreed. I had to double take when I saw the kayak thumbnail. Thought maybe it was an old video that I haven't seen. Here's hoping he does more!
Cutthroat Fishing lol Kayak fishing is so much better for me tbh, I have found so many cool locations on lakes that I can get out and explore, and you can really get to anywheres on the lake unlike with a boat
NBbassin exactly, I've cuaght my PB in an area only kayaks can get to. kayaks are very stealthy too.
Jon B, If youre still reading these comments, I noticed in the last video that we now live on the same street. I'm a huge fan and would love just to even say hi to you, and would really love to go fishing with you and show you all the ponds and cool fishing spots around here.
I'm not going to release anyones address. I happen to be lucky enough that I noticed it was my street and I left a note on their big brown door.
Bovine no fsir
Bovine no fair
Bovine good thing to do
Bovine what city Arlington?
If you do buy a kayak, I would recommend investing in a Kayak Paddle Taco Grip they are like $5 and super easy to install. They clip the paddle down so that it is out of the way which is great for fishing.
Brady Failing many kayak already come with paddle holders on the sides.
the vibe seaghost that he's in has one on each side
The jig bite at 4:00 is unreal dude. Watch your videos all the time man. Appreciate the information and instruction.
Definitely get yourself a kayak. Not as much fun as a big boat, but definitely better than being on the banks. Just my opinion as a kayak fisherman.
Micah Bellville sometimes a kayak can be more fun than the big boats especially when you hook a fish that can tow you up stream
Jeff Boer oh yeah. Fishing in a kayak makes it that much more of a fight. You can get into those hard to reach areas. I definitely recommend it
Micah Bellville yeah but my feet get tired when I'm on it
Micah Bellville I used to do float tube now I do pontune defiantly with you just make it pontune not kayak
Jon B. Get an old town angler vapor 10, it's a sit in kayak with tons of room to store gear, 2 rod holders, comes with an anchor. By far my favorite kayak
Yo yo yo two vids one day John b-roll workin hard, I love it 👏👏👏
More to come! Still got a line up Africa vids ready to get dropped

Andrew55 he's grinding
That's how we do it in Texas...good job and congrats on the new pb Jon!!!!
Last time i was this early was when neither of Jon's 3 recent pb's were from Texas
I went out on the 25th and me and my 2 brothers had a productive 27 fish day on jigs, Texas rigs, and a 7lb on a savage gear blue hill swim bait. All in a pond not far from lake fork
Looks like Sid finally broke the ice and hit us with a double whammy
If I could upload twice a day every day I would do it. I wish I could hit you all with uploads errday.
It's amazing how U have will to edit and upload videos surraunded by ponds and lakes. I would be fishing all day, but work is work right?
Dude, that was awesome! Congrats on an amazing fish! Loved the video!
Two uploads in one day. Thanks fishing gods.
If the weather is like in this video the basic jig is the first thing I will try using because it almost always gets bites. They seem to work a lot better when they have little rattlers on them.
Absolutely insane!!Double upload and new personal best! Texas is crazy!
Shawn Medvar no thanks
All while Im here in Toronto Canada. Ice fishing season was too short and now in the inbetween stage awaiting the rivers/ lakes to clear up!
5:54 is probably what you came here for
Ian Cox thank you
I was looking for this comment. Thanks👌👌👌
Bro that suttle frame transition you made in the beginning just when you got into the kajak. Amazing! You’re awesome.
Love this type of vid. Should do more kayak videos!
Omg, I absolutely love kayak fishing. I caught my first sturgeon, 62 in., in a kayak and multiple other big bass and catfish with my Otter Kayak
Jon, you should go fish for alligator gar.
Its funny ive just bought a gopro this winter to do some more shooting this year of my buddies and I mountain biking.. stoked to get a bunch of edits going this year and get a better grasp on the editing and learn how to get more creative shots and angles that kind of stuff. Buy one! Kayak fishing can absolutely be as fun as fishing from a bass boat if you fish places where you can't get to in a bigger boat. You need more practice on that Kayak. Great video. You guys need to fish Lake Tenkiller.
Rapidestsubset9 ok boss
Yes you need to buy a kayak! The serenity of being out on the water on a yak is second to none. Great vid and all I can say is: wear your seatbelt and wear your PFD.
Any advice from ya'll on getting into kayak fishing? I felt the same way as Jon B about it. But this video has me wanting to invest in a yak too.
Marc Campanilla it's the best way to fish. And the kayak he has is a beast. Vibe sea ghost
my advice is rent or borrow a couple of kayaks before buying one. there are a lot of different types out there and they are not created equal. Josh The reel is a Shimano Crucial
Glad to see you guys growing life and fishing wise, can't wait to see the type of content you guys come up with
when b roll had the paddle upside down the whole day
JB,
Nothing like a well made video to encourage all of your fans!!!
You need to catch one of these things on a fly rod and make all 5 or 6 of us fly idiots happy. Otherwise, nice fish.
Yes to the kayak. It is more portable than a full on boat and will help get to those juicy hard to reach spots.

Dolan Claspell native cutts in the summer
What do you mean
He should come fish for the native cuttys up in the high elevations
Your making me want to do that myself lol
Dude you should! That's my all time favorite fly fishing, the fish are as beautiful as the scenery
I've got a Wilderness Systems kayak for bass and I love it. Tight lines!
every bass angler needs a kayak just for those days you dont wanna bank bash and you dont own a real boat
Get a kayak
Definitely invest in a kayak! It'll be one of the best things you could ever do to ante-up your fishing experience!
Is it just me or is jons editing getting cheesy
mexicanbigfoot its you
it's totally you
mexicanbigfoot it's you, sorry dude.
It's you his editing his getting extremely better if you ask me
It's just you

Great Video! Great Edit. I think I may change the camera angle on my kayak now now lol
Jig worked for me this weekend too!
Very nice Jon! I just got a 4.1 pounder last weekend in NE OHIO on my first kayak fishing trip of 2017. Love the videos bro.
Laughed every time you went into the trees haha. Congrats on the PB!
Jon, love your vids. Also, your editing skills are astonishing. Keep up the great work
Jon there is this really nice spot on the white river in Arkansas with rainbow trout I guarantee you catch on every other cast definitely try it out
Kayak fishing is def a great way to get in those hard to reach places. Especially during the hot months with low water in places.
I go and fish there sometimes and I have a video up of when I was there I used a lipless crank bait there. I also don't have a kayak so I fished from the bank and I caught my pb there
Congrats Jon! New PB!!! Stoked!!
Congrats! Just started kayak fishing and loved the video. Keep em coming

Jackson Coosa HD. Perfect all arounder. can hit this small creeks that you like to fish for smallies. can have an open floor of you want to fly fish. no pedal drive so you don't need to worry about weeds or shallow water
Another awesome video. You prove to a lot of people that hard work pays off.
damn dude, big LM right there, looks like texas was a good move!
Just got my glasses can finally appreciate the quality of you're videos
Big Jon B is the Midwestern bass wizard, thanks for the tips. ( Im midwester as well grew up in Park Forest IL)
Nice catch Jon...Looks like Brice and Russ took good care of you...Welcome to Texas! ...Keith M.
buying a kayak and making yak fishing vids is a good idea. There always fun to watch.
Love my Atak 140. Kayaks are awesome. Very quiet.
