I only rode single fins for 10 years, not like old school cruising boards but performance short boards that I designed to be single fins. Theres nothing like the locked in feeling you get on a single fin.
@@davidackerman6837 yeah that's what everyone seems to think, but definitely not the case. I have a couple old single fins from the 70s and I just sold the last of my modern ones and already miss it. No side slipping on them. Like I said they lock in. When I went back to quads and thrusters they felt loosy goosy to me
Well, I just transitioned to one here in NorCal and was trying to drop into steep faces with occasional barrels the way I would with a thruster or quad and am learning I need to enter at a different place/time at my skill level, cause I DEFINITELY haven't gotten the hang of engaging that fin more than 50% of the time in steep drops and end up sliding right down the face.
@@andrews9328 Try a 7" Fins Unlimited Rhythm if your board is less than 6' 6". Push it towards the back of the box with the back of the fin about 3/4" from the back of the box.
Relaxing music great surfing so cool to see a 1% Professional Elite Surfer on a single fin trying something different... It's interesting to see how Mick Fanning surfing Style has to change to fit the kind of board he's riding because he's a straight-up Thrasher but on a single fin he seems to be SURFING reaaal CRUISY...
Maybe I'm just old, but I'll take this style any day. Far more elegant and poetic. Mark Richards, Mikey February, Devon Howard on a mid-length on a head high points is just about perfect.
So just ripping edits from FCS these days aye? The best part of their edit was Bob’s froth at his age and how the froth is a gift that will never leave the core surfer.
Bobs stoke was great. I just turned 65 and still frothing after 55 years of surfing. I’m just about to glass a new board I just shaped. Cant wait to get it in the water!🤪
@@eamonsherry2185 it didnt look that great, just a few sections, theres no truth these days and adoration of brands and big egos ha ha. Fanning is one big ad ha ha, its pretty sad. The obsession with single fins is weird, board evolution stopped and theres no improvement. Why would you ride a single fin other than ego? They go crap ha ha
Admire all of his achievements, but never took Mick seriously as an all-time surfer. Very commercial, always doing current. I'd love to see Joel ride a 70s pin.
Wow, beautiful elegant surfing, Beautiful art, thank you!
Dude fanning trims so well on a single fin....literally finds the sweet spot on his board every time...so epic...I love being a single fin surfer...

except when it side slips down the face and you eat the lip

Minha vida é o surf...
Que expressão de vida este vídeo: música, surf, pranchas, surfistas e ondas...
Absolutely outstanding surfing!!!
this is art
2:00 Poster material, truly awesome style!
That’s as good as watching the best of Mick from on your
Smooth flow into the barrels
Single fins look great ,,when the waves are good,,
The dude could blow minds on a longboard
1:58 - 2:04!?! I just kept on watching, repeat, unreal
Torren is one of the most stylish surfers of this era. It's honestly nuts what he's capable of
It’s nice to see a different style... instead of power and airs...
I saw this footage from a different edit... with voice over and a storyline. Still beautiful stuff
FCS done it
Beautiful.
mick is just that good
The clip at 1:57 is the best clip I have ever seen
Dude looked like a spider for a second lol 😂
I always thought long line surfing was the best, trimmed on a high line, the best
How good are single fins
givem some soul mick lad!!
So any details on the board? Make and dims?
6.9 19 ¾ no clue the rest
This!

Relax mate. Its clearly the same session. So what? FCS has exclusive rights to the session? Torrens waves were mental.

I just got done watching old footage of Terry Fitzgerald. Watching modern pro surfers on a single fin is better. Not so loosey goosey as the old days.
what song is this??
