- Military personnel have been taking part in final preparations for Queen Elizabeth II's funeral.
Members of the Armed Forces carried out a full rehearsal for the procession of Her Majesty's coffin from Westminster Hall to Wellington Arch, before sunrise on Thursday.
The State Gun Carriage was towed by almost 100 naval personnel and bore a black coffin, travelling from Westminster Hall, on to Westminster Abbey, and then through central London.

Was lucky to be on night shift this morning and saw the full rehearsal around Horse Guards. The military did an excellent job of it, very impressive to see.
I sincerely wish every member of HM Forces involved a faultless and memorable day, they are forging our history and they should feel immensely proud of their hard work and service. The country is so proud of of forces, I cannot praise them enough. Rest in peace your Majesty.

I have never served in the armed forces but grew up on RAAF bases and I am simply spellbound by the pageantry, precision and dignity with which the armed forces and civil services of the UK are handling this most sorrowful and solemn melancholic occasion. With thanks from Australia.
Being a military veteran of the United States it makes me proud to see my brothers and sisters in arms of Her Majestys armed forces serving her proudly. Rest in peace Queen Elizabeth and god bless the queen and all who served her.
I thank you sir for your kind words. Love from England

It is a privilege to see the rehearsals, I am proud to be British and proud of our armed forces who will do this last great thing for Her Majesty The Queen.
Why do you all keep voting for governments who destroy the very Core of the country. The military has been smashed by cuts for decades. Its a tiny shadow. We are the poor kid in the play ground always on the scrounge.
Yes here here
Amen Denise.
This is a wonderful British forces band giving her majesty what she deserves thank you 🏴🏴🏴🇯🇪🇬🇧♥️.
No one does these kinds of ceremonies better than the Brits...and I agree..get it right for her.
The country knows that the troops will give her majesty the send off she deserves
I so love my country , never more so when I see this .
To see the burial of Queen Elizabeth is extremely sad but gives us the unique opportunity to live traditions of hundreds of years old in the here and now. I cant explain it but witnessing a past of historical epic proportions and somber tradition is extraordinary. God bless Queen Elizabeth and may she be at eternal peace.
Some things in life let you down but I have to say that the British Armed Forces and the British Royalty have been the one constant of which we can be very proud. There is no other country that can bring some much pride, history and organisation to a funeral. Do her proud lads and ladies. She deserves it
Royality has let itself down except for princess Anne, all her kids are adulterous failures. From businesses, arms dealing, divorces, playing with kids. Not exactly beacons of light to look up to. Just a train wreck that keeps costing us money.

Such heartfelt scenes and such a great honor to a well deserved Queen! Rest In Peace your Majesty, you will be missed immensely!!
Excellent production, well done UK military.
I'm in awe. Beautiful and most impressive. ❤
Blessings and condolences from Canada 🇨🇦🙏🙌❤
God rest the Queen, long live the King!
As one of four kids of my late father RN, we saw many displays of military during the 1960s & 70's which for us was normal. Obviously, this is different but you cannot but admire the splendour if every tiny detail. It'll be the Piper. It always gets me because whatever could finish off an event of this magnitude so pioniently.
Anyone who loves the Pipe n Drum is in for a treat …. Scottish … Gurkha and Irish massed pipers
Thank you for bringing us this.

Rest In Peace your Majesty !
How amazing are these military I have never ever seen like this on how they do they perform
like this They have to deliver and executed perfectly without mistakes..
And if someone’s made a wrong move it shows straight away
Oh me, the pipe tune “My Home” always gets me!
Good luck to 4 SCOTS, (The Highlanders) and especially to PM Peter, DM Ruaridh and Corporal Hugh.
Absolutely glorious!
Awesome, exceptional, professional 👏 extremely proud of you all
Thank you this video gives an insight of the work which goes on behind the scenes of our arm forces .
very well done to all involved....
Just incredible. TY and GSTK
I will be getting up way early on Monday morning to watch the funeral procession, here in the US... Eastern time.
This will be a major world event and I hope it brings some of the cooperation and understanding to the people of this world that Queen Elizabeth worked to achieve during her 70 years of service.
Here in the Far East it will be in the late afternoon just as people head home from work.

That was a wonderful comment, thank you.
I was born a few hours after the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth, and just a short walk from Westminster Abbey, such a young age for someone to take on such responsibility, a truly remarkable woman.
Well done all of you
WOW ! As an entertainer the first thing that I thought of when I watched the procession was of all the practice that must have gone into performing this magnificently beautiful spectacle. I´m not a monarchist and neither do I live in Britain but this was the best and most brilliant farewell that the late Queen could have wished for as a remembrance of all the work she had done for her country.
I wish some more media can explain the details like this. (You know a lot more 👍 than others)
I think they put so much effort and deserves to be known by theirs roles and their responsibilities. And people can know more too.
The Scott guard will only play pipes ? and the Grenadier guards and the Royal's military troupe will played the rest ? What music pieces are the troupes playing from the Palace to Westminster Abbey ? And do they repeat until they arrive to the abbey ?
Massed military bands pipes and drums British armed forces
Amazign to see the London Scottish taking part! They meant a lot to the Queen Mother and I imagine they were called upon due to that to special connection to Her Majesty's Mother to take part as well.
I thought they'd been scrapped as a unit?
@@Horizon344 Reformed as London Guards now (with the companies being reserve units for the foot guards), but the pipes and drums retain their "old" uniform from the London (Scottish) Reg
@@Horizon344 They’re now G (Messiness) Company, 2nd Battalion, Scots Guards. The Band still stands as the last bastion of the Hodden Grey now but will likely, and very sadly, slowly fade away as the old hands move on and the new hand, being Guardsman and no longer London Scots, will likely be integrated into the Pipes and Drums of the Scots Guards
@@bravescot97 Yes, essentially the LS has been abolished, the Guards Brigade is a quite different Corps from The London Regiment

This is our tradition no matter what you think. For many it will be our first and last time seeing this
I wish all involved the very best for HM QE2. funeral procession and service. This will be a very emotional day for the the UK and other nations.
I wish British pathé was still around for this occasion
Upsets me a lot watching all this and that HMTQE II has gone as she was and has been the most perfect Leader/Ruler this country/countries 🇬🇧 could of ever asked for, yes we knew this time will eventually come and she will pass but wish we could of had another 5-10 years of her. I’m hoping with tight fingers crossed 🤞 that King Charles III will continue to carry on and do exactly what his mother did and keeps his mother alive as this country/countries 🇬🇧 need a head strong Ruler that will serve their kingdom/kingdoms like Queen Elizabeth II did.
God Save The King 🇬🇧.
I didn't know it only takes several kinds of wind instruments to play such music.
(And doesn't need an orchestra)
What music they played ? Were every divisions of the Queen's guard and Royal militaries were leading by their commander in chief ?
Only the brits can carry this off ......
Couldn't be prouder of our country and our Queen.
Carrying out the actual ceremony at night signifying death would have been better - more atmospheric & symbolic than under daylight.
It will be too lengthy for that! After the 11am funeral service and subsequent procession, the hearse will be taken from London to Windsor where a committal service (also televised) will take place at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle (4pm). There will then be a private (family only) burial service at 7.30pm.
Kudos to all military 🎖️🪖
So so proud of Britain and all our military forces. Because we are such an old institution and we believe in it all that’s what makes Britain the best of the world for pomp and ceremony.
I salute you British forces .
Salute to all the teams. You guys are awesome and Professional. Btw,... their rehearsal was exactly from beginning until the end like the actual day which includes the long walk?
When you and I look back what we have been through , GOD has been there as a father and friend. I will sing for the goodness of God, I love you God.
May she rest in peace any more people like her and politics she was a good person

As the wife of a veteran I am so proud of our armed forces they were perfect on the day R.i.p your majesty
Bravo for eveyone , well , wonderful done, great work.
Thank you for your hard work and dedication. It was a funeral fit for a Queen. Magnificent drill.
gosh.. I wouldn't mind just watching a practice o: very impressive!
I saw a video about the queen's coronation. There were smaller rehearsals, but they actually did a full dress prep for the ceremony, with another woman, the duchess of Norfolk, standing in for the Queen. Everything needed to be exactly timed.
😢 🌹God Bless You Lilibeth!🌷🥀¡Rest In Peace!🌷🙏🏻 🌺👑¡God Save The King!👑🌺
Interesting that they even put on the mounted guard at Horseguards, usually there is no mounted guard after 4pm.
Awesome guys. Good job.

Go well, boys and girls.
Alot of bulling going on tonight. Don't envy them that.

Get some sleep before the big day. You’ll all fall over at this rate. God bless Her late Majesty The Queen.
@ Forces News , are the Pipes & drums only from the Scots guards ??? or are the R.R.of Scotland also here ,the Piper's from the various Scottish Regiments.
All the Scottish Regiments are present. Scots Guards, Royal Scots Dragoon Guards, The Highlanders (4 Scots) The Black Watch ( 3 Scots) The Royal Highland fusiliers (2 Scots) The Gurkahs. RAF Regiment pipes and drums.
I was under the impression that the Abbey to Wellington Arch portion after the service was to contain mostly royal regiments of the commonwealth forces with the entire procession to be led by 4 RCMP Mounted Police on borrowed horses?
I believe the RCMP will be leading the procession through Windsor, to St George’s Chapel (Windsor Castle), for the 4pm committal service, which will also be televised. There will then be a private (family only) burial service, at 7.30pm
oh god I just miss her after 70 years

What's the name of the bagpipe song along with the drums at 1:45?
"The Mist Covered Mountains"
Should be more than 6,000 troops tbh
Damn. I wish I still lived in the UK ...
I tell you one thing I'd hate to live anywhere along that route. Full dress rehearsals at 2am with bands! overkill much?
I don't think many (if any) people live along the actual route from Westminster Hall to the Mall, it's mostly parliamentary and military buildings and offices, and most of those are empty at the moment. There will be people living on the route from the Mall to Windsor, but I don't think they're rehearsing that part in the video.
Shout out to the British military, a lot of them are going to be exhausted after this is all over.
what was the march the marines played it starts at 3mins on this video
"The Funeral March" by Chopin.
The Funeral with HM Royal Marines at their Best.
That would be as good as seeing the actual event if you couldn’t stay until Monday
Can someone please tell me the name of the the beat played at 03:08 onwards
Thanks
Its confusing because the video editing went from Chopin's Funeral March at 3:08 into (I believe) Mendelssohn's Funeral March at 3:13.
Does anyone know the name of the piece at 2.50?
Funeral March No.1 by Johann Heinrich Walch.
