Usually big male bears can't climb trees,,,, I think this was a female bear that's why the cubs initially gravitated towards her, Female bears have been known to eat other female's cubs For the protein so that she may be able to nurse her own cups
My guess is…. The barrels were there to attract the bears so they could be hunted. I imagine the cubs were without their mother because she was hunted by the person filming or whoever else hunts that area, leaving the cubs motherless. Another bear family comes along attracted by the barrels and I can only imagine the cubs came down thinking/hoping that maybe that was their mother or that they’d be taken in… And it seemed for a sec like maybe it was gonna work, but ultimately not, as it’s rare for a wild animal to take in another’s offspring. I have no idea of what's actually going on but it seems the 2 cubs got separated from the rest from the older bears that came out of nowhere. The momma bear ran away before they came. The two cubs come down and greet the biggest bear then realizes they're in trouble and unfortunately one gets eaten. Not sure if that was a large female bear or a large male. Because grown male bears tend to be a lone yet this bear had two smaller bears along with him/her. The momma bear that ran away was way too small to fight these bears off.

One evening I once came face to face with a 500+lb black bear on a atv 3 wheeler. No gun and the damn machine stalled and wouldn’t start for a good three minutes. He just sat there looking at me yawned and looked around. I got off the machine turned it around by hand as we were on a narrow trail with ditches full of water on both sides. Pretty intense moment but once the machine started I watched the bear for a few more minutes and drove off as he stayed on the trail soaking in the summer sun. I’ve seen many black bears but was lucky enough to see one that was bigger then one mentioned above. This bear had to pushing 600+ lbs. he was so big he could just barely run as he was crossing a field. He was a brute
Had a similar run in but the machines didn't stall.A massive black bear started swaying on the trail throwing sand with his front paws.Very aggressively i must say. This bear was a huge black bear and i have seen several.what a beast! Stopped swaying and turned sideways stared at us with complete i will kill all of you if you come this way look.Strolled off the trail like yeah you are lucky you seen me in time suckers.VW sized blacky took up the whole two track.
im no expert but judging from the different sizes of all the cubs, i would say that those 2 smallest cubs wasn't hers..bears don't breed that quick again like that..
It's obvious that the two separate cubs (one being the one killed), came from a different sow. This hunter set up the perfect scene for any and all bears to be possibly killed, whether by hunting, or by territorial instinct. This sad video comes from human influence.
Your uncreative, hack insult that only a THOT would use has no power here as I am gay. I bet your man, assuming you can keep one more than a month, is lowkey gay af because you are so boring and dull in real life.
No dumbfuck, this still happens in the wild when there isn't human influence. You can clearly see food right there yet the mother bear still tries to kill the cub for food.
Even polar bears will canibalize cubs when hungry. Lions do it for mating rights with a new pride, and reptiles are notorious for eating younger members of the same species. Heck, even scorpions snack on their own babies, as do many fish species. Nature can be cruel and terrifying.
Climbing a tree will only work for you if the bear chasing you is an adult grizzly! Blacks can climb trees easily, but "ADULT" grizzlies lack front paw claw geometry (too long and straight) to allow for good grip on tree bark while climbing.
Positive those two tiny cubs were likely orphaned. Considering this seems to be filmed at a bait station which is probably frequented by hunters that know about it and use it. One of the many reasons baiting bears is illegal in BC, most hunters actually follow basic fucking laws, but you get the occasional idiot that shoots the first 'meat bear' he sees without waiting and watching to make sure it's a male... makes legal hunters look bad when this happens 'cuz the leaf-lickers end up lumping us all together in the same boat.
Two smaller cubs from a different sow of course, wonder where it was while it's cub got killed by the other sow.? Too bad but it happens without our knowing it.
I had a dream me and my brother were driving our truck. And the bear was hella fast lmao. Dashing like flash left and right. We were driving regular speed. And for some reason, we were sitting on top of the truck. And the bear was behind us, breathing on my back. I looked and saw it behind me breathing heavily with fangs ready to bite. And the grizzly bear tried to kill me, i blocked it’s bites with my hand. and the dogs also attacked me for some reason? lol. But i survived the grizzly bear bites and the dog bites, and was like meh whatever. I blocked their bites with ease. I woke up and was like meh. Just another day. I was unarmed in the dream. If i had my sword or gun, would’ve been nice.
what are you talking about? it goes WITHOUT SAYING that natural by definition is seperate from humanity. without humans, natural would be unopposed. natural is ruthless and cruel, but also delicate and beautiful.
I agree. It's usually the eco freako hippie types that didn't grow up in the country saying that nature is so beautiful. Nature is not beautiful unless you enjoy watching other creatures suffer. It is full of pain and hardship. That's why we built civilizations, to escape from nature.
@@chadzard4 The fact that nature is indifferent to cruelty, and will inact it in droves as long as lifeforms keep reproducing... is truly frightening. Life on this planet is basically a naturally-created type of hell, that sentient creatures can't even hope to escape from. Even in our civilized bubbles all sorts of nastiness goes on.
This occurred at a bait station. Normally, these bears would not congregate together and so it took human actions to set this in motion. Another example of where human interactions throw off the balance of nature.

@@youtubekeepscensoringme No. Boar is more specific as it is the term for a male swine, male bear and even for a male guinea pig as well as some other mammals.
There is a need to kill the older boars (male bears) because they are past their breeding prime and they kill cubs just like in the video. If you do not take out the older boars they will continue to kill cubs in massive amounts and wipe out the next generation of bears. If you can keep the number of old boars low then you can maintain a healthy and steady bear population.
There is sadly a reason for the male bears killing cups. A strong and smart bear mother will prevent that in most cases, so the event of infanticide is very rare. You can't maintain a "healthy" population of top-predators by hunting the individuals you consider as harmful or needless. Most hunters, especially the hobby type, are simple analphabets in ecology.
Lions do it so there are no other genetics in the pride other than their own. They just kill the Cubs, not actually eat them. Male bears kill Cubs for food as an easy meal, if Mom is not able to protect them. So kind of the same as lions, but seemingly a different purpose.
Sometimes bears will eat their own Cubs if it's deformed or if they're unable to find enough food. In this case it's probably because the mother bear couldn't find enough food.
Little ones were orphaned. The big one just prevented the little one from starving. Hunters shot sows "on accident" all the time. When the one figured out the other sow was not there, she just took the groceries.
I’m not sure I saw evidence of killing the cub in the video. I saw parent grab cub, descend into ground and leave with cub in mouth. A limp looking cub is not necessarily dead.

Rumorady - bears are very strict with their young....if they don't listen, this is what happens...that is why they are not hunting humans., bears know that a young cub that doesn't listen, will grow up and be a bigger problem. , but, since they have been getting hunted and killed in their dens with their young in Alaska, per trumps executive order, things are changing...carry bear spray.
CANALI Rodriguez trump wrote an executive order allowing hunters to kill bears and Cubs in their dens in Alaska.......this is making it unsafe for bears to stay in their dens, therefore, roaming more and more...just look at the increase in bear attacks since trumps executive order....it will only get worse....bears do not understand state lines, therefore will take any human as a threat.

Another bear family comes along attracted by the barrels and I can only imagine the cubs came down thinking/hoping that maybe that was their mother or that they’d be taken in… And it seemed for a sec like maybe it was gonna work, but ultimately not, as it’s rare for a wild animal to take in another’s offspring. oh wow! this is so sad! if only we knew the actual reason that bear did that to the cub.
Jasmine Hand, it’s instinct for boar (male) bears to kill cubs that are not theirs. They kill them, eat them and then are free to mate with the mother to pass their genes on.
PhantomM16 BUT THATS A FEMALE you dont see the two other cubs?? They were from a different bear thats not in the video
@@PhantomM16 Male beer "fathers' have nothing to do with their own children, - they sex the female in the spring 1x, impregnate them, and aren't involved with the mother raising their children after birth. It is just nature's calling that he needs to sex a female bear in the spring.
I’m wondering why the mother Bear was tentative in immediately predating the orphaned cubs? It had an easier opportunity while the 2 young cubs approached her at first. But she waited till they climbed the tree? Maybe she likes “the thrill of the hunt”?

Not sure if that was a large female bear or a large male. Because grown male bears tend to be a lone yet this bear had two smaller bears along with him/her. The momma bear that ran away was way too small to fight these bears off.

Big male bears kill cubs like this all the time. This area needs more hunters to take out the older problem bears.
Why would you kill a bear for killing a bear? That is counter-intuitive
I didn't know that was actually a problem, truly a weird world.
Lol yes it is.
Nature is such an harmonious utopia
YHWH is so kind
Especially the food barrel kind of nature... purest form
Do bears do the same thing lions do, where the males kill babies that aren't theirs so the mother will go into heat again? Lions do it.
Lions do it so there are no other genetics in the pride other than their own. They just kill the Cubs, not actually eat them. Male bears kill Cubs for food as an easy meal, if Mom is not able to protect them. So kind of the same as lions, but seemingly a different purpose.
In this case it's a mama bear eats another bear's cubs.
Yes, Male bears will kill Cubs so the mother will go into heat.
Matt Wilkie the male lions do eat the cubs
Sometimes bears will eat their own Cubs if it's deformed or if they're unable to find enough food. In this case it's probably because the mother bear couldn't find enough food.
