The starship needs a new .. generator thing and the only one they have on this shit planet, is in a currency our jedi don't have. A random young boy offers to race in a death defying track which is basically certified his death if he cocks up.. for some random people.

The controls are so bad, you have to basically tug your joystick to move it. Still beat this though. Haven't tried the og gunship Calvary bc it's a sidescroller

One thing I hate is that my PS2 is so old, that when you die on this level, it bugs it out and you have to reset the whole thing, and so I have to see that first cutscene 100 times, so I can’t beat it

I highly recommend giving The Complete Saga a go if you only ever played the original. They made certain levels like this one in particular a lot more fair and less frustrating.

This is the best podracer race I´ve seen since Episode 1 Racer on Nintendo 64. I love the engine movement the podracer has.
tbh i don’t even have the memory of me beating this as a kid but i know i did cause the memories i do have of this level are just of me being super focused on it

There is something screwy about this level for me. After the cutscene when Mawhonic explodes and the game resumes, I don't have enough time to reach the boost, and pass the falling rock before it kills me. But once in a blue moon it works normally like a game is supposed to. Has anyone else had this same thing happen?
This level use to piss me off as a kid. Especially everytime his ship blows up or his ship stops throwing a fit.
This is better then the new one :( I had to come back here to be sure but this is def better!!
Edit. I’m enjoying the new game a lot! But the pod race was a missed opportunity and it seems they missed a few things here and there but 8/10 so far

You can get a fail cutscene if you die or fail to complete a section before the timer runs out

I prefer the third person perspective from this one as apposed to the new one. The new one also feels too easy.
So, if Anakin Skywalker ACTUALLY lost the Podrace, then he would still be a slave boy on Tatooine, so he wouldn't be able to become Darth Vader.

No, it was present in the original game and had been greatly streamlined in the Complete Saga, though the original race was available as a bonus level.

I don’t know why people are saying that this level is so hard to complete. I was able to finish this level in about 10 minutes. I’m currently playing the PS2 version of the game, so far it’s awesome!

The only think you have to do is to press up botton in order to go faster. I realise it after a month. I used only left right and couldnt reach him. Keep pressing up button to run and left right. I did it with my son finally

At 1:17 look at the crowd and those people on of them is a 2d Podracer ANAKIN! I thought he was in the race not in the crowd look closely and then you will see it.

You mean the original pod-racing game? Yeah they were great, the sequel actually runs on an PS2-emulator if you want to try that.

What's the difference between Lego star wars and Lego star wars the complete saga
lego star wars is a gamecube game that only has the prequel trilogy. The complete saga is essentially a collection of that game and lego star wars 2 (the original trilogy), along with some added features.

In the original Lego Star Wars? Yeah. The timing is extremely harsh, especially for this early in the game.
They neutered the difficulty dramatically for The Complete Saga, and I imagine that it will be as easy in the upcoming Skywalker Saga too.
