Followed your video to the letter, and isolated the problem after a little investigation. Turns out my dear old dad spilt his beer down the side of his chair, and into an extension lead, and neglected to mention it! 😂 dried it all up, got a fresh extension, and voila! RCD stayed up 👌 thanks so much for your help!
What a sensible explanation. I followed your instructions and eventually got to the washing machine. So it is the laundry mat for me until I can get the machine looked at. Thank you for putting it idiot proof, certainly helped.
Thank you so much for this video. I was going to book an electrician but found your video and it was so well explained and the problem was found and what seemed a terrible fault with various things around the house not working was, in fact, a very easy fix. Thank you!!!
I thought my RCD switch was broken. It tripped but settled in mid position. When I pushed it to the up position it just bounced back to the middle even with everything unplugged. When I called my landlord he sent an electrician who told me that the RCD switch had tripped but to reset it you have to push it right down and then push it up. If I'd known that I could have saved him a wasted journey at 10 pm. This may not apply to all fuse boxes but it did on mine. Doh!
An MCB and an RCD are two different devices, that perform different tasks, you will need the overcurrent protection of the MCB, and the additional RCD protection.
