So if there is a fault on my central heating system the RCD will trip before electric can travel through my radiators and the MCB will trip once the fault has travelled back through the earth connected to the bottom of my radiator and back to the fuse box. I've just changed my radiator in the bathroom and out of 4-5 plumbers only 1 ask do I have a RCD fuse in my fuse, yes I do, ok you don't need the earth wire connected to your radiator then. And this is because of the reaction time of the RCD to break current.
I like that, it was very reassuring, I've an idea it was the lamp in my kitchen, I've not switched the RCD back on yet as with energy prices going through the roof, September 2022 currently, I can utilise this opportunity to see just how many plugs still remaining in the in the sockets, that have remained switched on!
I have enjoyed all these tutorials and animations.Very simple, but they explain a lot.I hope you continue with these videos and perhaps progress to more technical topics as you obviously have a talent in explaining things easily.Thank you again.
Thank you for your kind comment. Yes I have loads of things planned and drawn up. Next one is on Extraneous conductive parts, and another on contactors.
Good day Sir, I need some help. Did not know how to contact you other than to comment here. I am from Pakistan and here we have the same system as United Kingdom. We get two wires (240v live and nuetral) in case of single phase meter from the electricity provider while the earthing is done through grounding electrode. We have more than one meter in our house. The problem is that when i opened one of the switch board to replace a switch. The voltage detector is showing voltage in the nuetral wire too. Please note that here we do not get professional electricians so easily. And the last time somebody worked, they combined all the nuetrals of many circuits from one point in the house to the distribution board. Please advise what might be the problem. I will be very thankful to you.
Great and concise compared to my lectures just subscribed
Answers all my questions thank you
Thank you, please it was helpful

Thank you for the good explanation about rcd
@@JPElectricPlease when selecting an RCD, should the current rating ofethe RCD be the same as the current rating of the main switch or isolator

@robertallen2151 I am not referring to the tripping current. We have 63Amps RCD with 30mAmpa tripping current. So I am referring to the 63amps
@@danielteyehuago163363A rating means that it may get damaged if the current passes through it exceeds 63A.
