I missed thoae days in the 82nd. The adrenaline rush was great. I can't explain the feeling when you jump from the plane.
Agreed! Sadly I can explain the feeling when you didn't cinch up the harness enough and you catch a nut underneath... 782nd 84-86
Nothing like it..every thing..slows down..your senses..go 10x...3/505..
AATW, LETS GO
AATW!!! BCO 3/505 1st PLT 00'-04'
Yeah it is definitely a crazy, wonderful, and hard to describe feeling you get when you jump
Yeah it's awesome, till you hit the ground and have to hump 12 mi to your objective lol. Bco1/504pir
Simply going into harms way is bad enough. Jumping out of an airplane to drop into harms way is frinkin' insane. Huge admiration for the men who volunteer to do this.
Hey, that's an extra 50 bucks
@@-Ryan_Gasoline-it’s 150
My son is in the 173rd. AB very proud of him and all that serve! God Bless!!
Proud of my son who recently joined the 82nd. Many Blessings to all!
To my son who recently got his wings from the 82nd, we’re all so proud beyond words
Who-Wa Airborne All The Way Bad-Asses!

You’re welcome

My job over the jump zone as an Air Force copilot of a jet full of Airborne troops was to turn on the green light when commanded by the navigator, so I was literally the one opening that can of whoopass!
Badass. I just passed my MEPS exams and I got a reserve for Airborne on my contract.. So excited but nervous
@shizukashizuka8509 don't worry, just listen to the black hats. You'll do great. Airborne leads the way!
@@TheDesertRat31 I am very excited, thank you! I need a damn waiver for a medication I was on last year, but itll be fine
@@MsFrostitute nice. Also, as general advice, any chance you have to go to an army school, take it. Lots of great training opportunities out there, and if you are worried that you might not get in (due to a waiver, for example) just push on. Don't drop out of the process unless they tell you no. I was putting a packet together for flight school, but I had a hearing profile from my tours downrange, and I needed an age waiver. I was in a bad place after multiple trips to Afghanistan so i just dropped it and got out.... I wish I could go back and see it through.

Serve Proudly, Soldier!!
God Bless!!
Respect for these men. God protect the men and women that stand watch
God Bless The American Army 🇺🇸
82nd Air Borne, Co. C 2/504. Wheels locked and anywhere in the world 🌎 in 18 hours. Love it and miss it. I’m 62 and would do it still. Just saying
They're coming to us . Be ready
2/325 here! Yeah, I know what you’re saying! I spent more than a few hours in the PHA
American Army all of it keeps me happy and hopeful.
Was also 1st brigade 2/504, back in 2015!
I love you dearly. Hard rock mate hard.
That’s what I like too see strong men in the army , full respect for you guys 🇺🇸
This is so Awesome Thank you all for your Service To our Great Country God bless America 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 And may God bless you all and always keep you all safe
I was a paratrooper in the French foreign legion. 3rd cie, 2eme REP, Calvi. Had about 60 jumps in my first 4 years. I always would get in 1st position, right in the door because it’s the safest spot. You have no one on one side of you therefore less crowded and less dangerous. Less a chance of colliding with another parachute or one passing underneath you near the ground. That last one is the worse, they take the wind out of your chute and cause you to fall very fast with no resistance, smacking into the ground.
I respect the airborne French Foreign Legion guys a lot. I went to Ranger School with an Argentinian guy that joined the French Foreign Legion, came to the US and was a Ranger in 3rd Batt. He had some messed up stories from his Africa deployment and even back home with the FFL. Great guy all around though, very tough.
@@dkel4341 he was from my regiment. I used to be friends with him and chat on Facebook but I deleted it and lost touch. I can’t even remember his name now. I think he had gotten married and was trying to do SF
@@randynesbit4497 I don’t recall his first name, but his last name was Montenegro. We called him Monty for short. Maybe that will jog your memory if you were interested in getting in contact again.
@@dkel4341yeh, that whole situation in NW Africa sounds messed up. Now there's been some coup and French govt just decided to listen to coup meister and vacate the area! Seems like a lot of work for nothing. I can imagine doing rotations down there as a sniper and having to kill seven people over three years only to find out that the govt going to hand it all off to outlaws.
I went to US Army Airborne school in '82 and there was a guy in my class who had his chute collapsed as you say...fifty feet off the ground. The last we were told was that he was at least temporarily paralyzed. That was the fifth of five jumps and we graduated right there at the drop zone with family in the bleachers. I sure am thankful my parachute wasn't the one collapsed.
My old unit. Boy do I miss that feeling.
Was it like flying ? I dream that sometimes and hate waking up ....🎶
Depending on where you live there's places where military guys go to jump..............my brother lives in east Texas

Experience of a lifetime. You never get over it. Especially the night jumps in full gear after 2 hours of nap of the earth flying. Airborne units are exactly what people think they are. Bad ass!

Hola
So cool. Props to all the brave airborne troops.
May Gods protection be upon you thank you for risking so much for a worthy cause
I miss those days... if I could go back and do it all over again, I'd do it twice
@The Lost One they hurt every day, but the thrill back in the day, in the moment worth every second... now days I just have to get creative with my movements.
I really did feel like a super hero back in the day, fighting for my country and doing what's right... politics of the job really destroyed my pride though that's for sure.
@@ryanrich9186 that’s one of the main things stopping me from enlisting right this second :/ it’s hard to want to support your country when you only see a fraction of the things they’re actually doing
@@milk7524 I can't argue that. One of the very large puzzle pieces that made me decide that it was time to leave was the fact that Washington was/is using the a the armed forces as a bully tactic. It's not right what we do to other countries. I did 2 tour through Iraq. The logic I put to it was, consider if a foreign force was to invade our soil, don't you think you would be out setting road side bombs and taking pop shots at them every chance you get? I would. A very large part of the population over there simply thought they were fighting for their home land... we had no business there, just like we have no business in Ukraine right now. I feel sorry for those serving under this administration, they are dealing with a lot, more than I ever would have wanted to, but, they serve for the reasons they serve.
There is no greater pride than to serve your country, it just sucks that its for a country in its current condition. So terribly divided, and so much corruption in DC.
You can serve your country without the uniform, soon enough you might have to. For that matter, it is my belief that you can be a much better soldier for your country without the confines of that contract, but it takes a strong individual to do what's RIGHT for the country and not what pays better.
Yes yes yes Airborne 👍👍👍🔥🔥🔥💯💯💯
Let’s go boys.
Amen RLTW,🇱🇷
A nice Hollywood Jump. Always enjoyed them. All The Way Airborne

Ahh brings back memories.. memories of sitting in the harness shed fully rigged for 8 hours just for the jump to get scratched from a little rain.
God bless you all and thank you for your service!
I served in the Italian Alpine Paratroopers in 83/84 and did those jumps also over the snowy Alps. Besides the obvious weapon and gear, occasionally we jumped with foldable skis and ski boots so that once on the ground we could descend to the valley or target area quickly and establish position.
I can still smell the avio-gasoline and feel the adrenaline rush. I'd do it all over again if I could. A "thank you for your service" and mad respect to all my fellow brothers in arms.
Feet and knee’s together. Plus, on C-141’s jump out as hard as you can, or you bump down the side of the aircraft. 😂
C-141 Starlifter- we considered those airplanes real Cadillac rides. Talked to a First Sargent 20 years ago he said they no longer use C-141's anymore, he said they always had problems with the wings. Prolly I only jumped from these maybe 5 times, the rest were C-130s and Iroquois (,,,forget the number but these were Hueys that were used before Apaches, and started their use in VN) great times- you make friendships stronger than I've ever made in civilian life. Had it to "do over" I would have kept some of these friendships alive, we were young and didn't realize that these friendships would never be duplicated, at least on a large scale, again
C130, c123, were easier than c141. Favorite was tailgating a ch47. Shithooks are great
Miss those days! Get some Troopers! GET SOME!!!
I won’t be the last one to jump out that bissh 😂
God bless you, men and women. Soon, I shall call you brothers and sisters
All the way sir AIRBORNE
Looks dope af
So proud of my son, he's now in Airborne School doing his first jump
Respect to you all soldiers ❤
Was so awesome to jump out of plane. My parachute didn't open my last jump, so I had to use my reserve.
That's it babe...Go Go Go shouted it out. Static Line NCO

Big respect
Love ❤️ my boy's!!
Thank you America!
I would love to try this at least once
I love the jump master has the tiniest of parachutes on.
I miss it!
Tell me, is it still hard for young NCOs to get the duties they need for senior and master parachutist wings? I remember it was damn near an act of congress because the senior chain always took them. I had to chase my senior wings and I was beat the hell up with back to back jump duties. During my time with 82ND 2008 to 2013
It takes a certain kind of crazy🤪
Glad we're on the same team as 💪
I am in awe of you guys!
❤Très grand RESPECT aux parachutistes de toutes origines. RESPECT ❤
Please don't lower the standards of the army, as the Russians and Chinese aren't lowering theirs.
Not sure about the Chinese, but the Russians are terrible soldiers, no leadership, poor equipment, poor discipline, poor tactics, poor everything ….. they are getting what they deserve.
