Hacking a Smart Scale Part 2 - Tapping into IC Communications via PCB Traces
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 7 фев 2025
- In this video, I show my process for soldering onto traces between components on a PCB. Then using a logic analyzer, I show how I decoded the serial data sent between a BLE IC and another unknown component on the PCB.
Remember to always use the proper amount of flux ;)

Just wanna say, that I saw you in a thumbnail with that clowny cup, and I come just to laugh at you, and to make you feel ashamed for wear such an exaggeration, but just in this last video I see that you have the COURTESY of not wear a cup under a roof.
Nice move kid, follow that way 👌, one day you would become an adult, and maybe also an engineer 😉.
Why do you assume there is a roof above my head?
@@mattbrwn Well, because I dont see you in the fields harvesting strawberries...
Have a nice day 🎩
What the hell are you on about dude? Clearly been inhaling too much solder fumes.
Some insane ppl online
There's a good Applied Science Video Titled "Decapping ICs (removing epoxy packaging from chips to expose the dies)".
thanks! I've have to check out that video and get some supplies!
Good stuff, thanks and keep it up! One thing that would be cool to see is you "decoding" the transmitted frames and writing some simple code (Arduino or otherwise) to read from the device.
Hello friend good teaching as always,I ask you do you use a Linux system to do all your work extracting the flash, etc, thanks
Hey Matt.
Please recommend some good books/reading to start up with Linux.
I would love to, but don't really know where to start.
What was your first encounter with Linux? That first spark that made you fall in love?
Thanks.
I started by installing ubuntu on a laptop. That's actually how a suggest you learn Linux. Install it on a computer and try to daily drive it.
@@mattbrwnmost people don't even realize how well you can daily drive Ubuntu or Debian or wtv. I daily drove Kali for years and didn't lose any features I needed, and still gamed (and hacked my games.) Honestly though how I learned intro stuff was I was trying to live boot an old old Kali build and it wouldn't give graphical, so I joined a discord server and met people who basically just told me about tools, then threw me out in the water with high expectations, so I had no choice but to get it right the first time.
Hello. Is there anywhere to watch the presentation mentioned in the video? Looks super interesting
Thanks I have learned a lot from your videos I hope I see starlink dishy analyses .
thanks! I hope to get a starlink dish in the future... after getting some land that requires one ;)
is that the Saleae Logic 8 analyzer ?
What are you looking at ?
You need a Barlow lense for your microscope 0.5 or 0.7
New mic
Haha yeah got it for Christmas 🎄
@@mattbrwn Recommendation: Samson XPD2 headset is cheap and works with OBS (and linux) very good audio quality - and you can work with two hands. Just don't place the sender and receiver to close together.
I feel like I listened to both videos and learned nothing cause you are talking on and on but not getting to the point. What is the point of all of this?
