May I know whether these are koonacs or true yabbies? I am asking because the crustacean in the video better resembles a koonac rather than an actual yabby.

Jerry Wei Jie The big yabbie ate the little ones so I put him in the sump. But then he got his head stuck in the pump and drowned. I was pretty gutted but I'll give them another go one day!

AquaTuckerAquaponics Have you started with a new bunch yet? If yes, how is it going? I am in FL US and I want a crawfish or yabbie farm. Janice

You Turkey LMAO that big one was a koonack, not a yabbie. Very aggressive, and will eat just about anything. Even fish. On the other note there fast growing and very tasty.
There are 7 types of fresh water crays in Australia. Koonacks, yabbies, marron, Murry Crays. Tasmanian freshwater lobster, red claw, and blue claw. Koonacks are by far the nastiest.

+Ram2 You're correct, that was a Koonac but there are way more than 7 species in Australia and they span across 2 genera. Australia has more individual species of freshwater crayfish than any other continent on earth.

Great video content! Sorry for butting in, I am interested in your initial thoughts. Have you ever tried - Patlarny Gardening Expert Principle (just google it)? It is a great one of a kind product for learning how to expand your produce with the clever art of aquaponics without the headache. Ive heard some awesome things about it and my work buddy at very last got great success with it.
