The fact that the Doctor got mad is a real red flag. You have rights with regard to any procedure (yay or nay). And you did not "refuse"....you declined. Just a heads up to use that language so they won't label you. God Bless.
You are correct & I’m thankful for your post After 9 years of dealing with specialists… oncologist, hematologist, gastro enterologist, vascular specialist, I finally got the ‘balls’ to say no. I’m 76 and would rather enjoy what time I have then spending endless days in hospital & dealing with procedures that do nothing but cause more pain & stress for me and my family. You caught on quickly. Kudos to you. And the attitude you got from surgeon is exactly the reaction we get if we dare to question them

I had Kidney cancer 3 years ago and they didn't do any biopsy, the doctor said that the tumor and kidney had to come out anyway and they would do the biopsy after the tumor came out. About a month before the surgery they did insert a tube through my penis with a camera on the tip of the tube to check if there were tumors on my blader, 15 minute procedure with no pain, after they took out the kidney with the tumor the pathologist confirmed it was cancer, many ct scans later and no cancer anywhere thank God.

I'm 70 years old and with the world the way it is, I have decided to not worry and if I die when I get cancer or something, I know where I'm going(with the Lord) and be painfree and happy. I've had a good life so I'm ready when it's my time. I have a friend who had kidney cancer, he did not have that! He got his kidney removed and is fine. My daughter is looking at a .9 mm stone, they are talking about pulverizing it. Thanks for the education, I will help her make an educated decision about her care!👏👏👏🙏🏻❣

I am a nurse as well as a ten year cancer survivor. I don’t think that that stent has anything to do with biopsy. That will be done when the kidney is removed. A stent basically is used to keep a tube open. I am thinking that depending on how bloody your urine is they are afraid your ureter will become clogged with clots. If that happens it can cause your kidney to enlarge (hydronephrosis) and then rupture which then could seed the cancer through your abdomen. Tumors are usually encapsulated and they want that capsule to stay intact. If urine can’t drain it may cause the capsule to expand to the breaking point. Now… I am not telling you what you should do but it just sounded to me like it wasn’t explained very well to you. What you are talking about is basically no different than having a Foley catheter which is very common after most surgery. If you are worried consult another surgeon. Please know I will pray for you and your wife as you face this. But … don’t freak out over procedures… just make sure you understand the purpose of them…. Ask lots of questions! I had two different cancers found at the time of my surgery and I went through traditional treatment which was chemo and radiation. I have been free of disease for almost 10 years and I feel great. I'm so sorry for your frustration. I totally get it. I have chronic health issues and I'm in my 60's and taking care of my 90 year old parents who have dementia, the other has stage 4 prostate cancer. If I were in your shoes, I think I would feel the same. Take your trip with your wife and enjoy.

That’s already terrifying to think about. I had a blockage in my urethra area one time. I think it was due to scar tissue and I couldn’t urinate at all. They had to put a catheter in and that was the most uncomfortable thing I have ever had to experience for two months. I can only imagine what it’s like with cancer. I’m sorry, sir and I hope and pray in Jesus Christ of Nazareth you don’t go through that procedure.

At 71, I feel the same as you. At 41 and being healthy and owning my own floor-covering installation business, I suddenly on day blew my back. I had to have a Laminectomy Disectomy @L5-S1. The neurosurgeon said to my wife, and I after surgery that my back was like a 65 yr old man. I would never be able to do my trade again. Six months later, I was sitting at a red light and was rear-ended by a guy doing 55mph. Herniated C5-6. Neck surgery was required. Then left-hip, then right shoulder, both knees scoped, torn miniscus. Now they want to replace right- hip then right knee. No more surgeries! I'm done. I look forward to being done with all this pain. God help us if Kamala wins...Bye-Bye Miss Ameriac Pie... Turn out the lights...
Hi Kevin. Well once again I'm going to mention my 92 yr old Mother. She had that exact catheter put into her. During the night she pulled it out! She was in excruciating pain! Ohhh the nurses were SO upset with her! She was a feisty woman and could fend for herself! My brother and I never knew what to expect next while she was in the hospital and rehab. We stood beside her no matter what. Go with your gut instinct. My Mother did. I personally have a myriad of health issues, and I've had to be my own best health care advocate for decades. I would cancel too. Also, there is a high chance of infection with using the stent. Then you need antibiotics and it messes up your guts. That Dr. needs a lesson in empathy!

You are so right to have done the research. As soon as this doctor became angry is when you should be done with him. I'm a female but my procedure that a string hanging out as well. I had that stint for kidney stones, it is incredibly painful and your life is full of bladder/kidney spasms while this stint was in. It did not do a thing for my kidney stone. They had to go in with some basket procedure. Why they didnt just do that in the first place, I don't know. Get a second opinion and not necessarily a doctor that he would recommend, for sure.
Pray for God in the name of Jesus to direct you to the right source, my friend had a cancerous spot the size of a 50cent pcs and the doctors wanted to remove the kidney WELL THE GUY WENT TO A DIFFERENT SPECIALIST WHO HIS SON WAS FRIENDS WITH AND THEY REMOVED THE SPOT AND HES BEEN CANCER FREE FOR 20YRS
My husband's friend had that procedure for stones. He was supposed to pull the string out, but it went back up. It had formed a knot. He had the Dr. pull it out, and I guess it hurt like H. You did the right thing questioning this procedure. Praying you find a surgeon that will give you the proper treatment for the cancer. Please try to stay strong...God won't take you til He's ready.

A man at my church had stage 4 cancer throughout his body. 2 weeks of prayer and ivermectin hes cancer free.

Please get another Doctor's opinion. This doctor is unethical. The more procedures they do the more $$$ the doctor gets.
Report him to your state medical association and Professional State Board.

Good grief. You should absolutely have options. You did the right thing firing that doctor. Please find someone else to treat you. Don't give up.
Ive been going to Roswell for 7 years for follow up for a thymoma. They are wonderful and I highly recommended them.
