Al Snow played a crazy character. He wasn't actually crazy. Marty Jannetty, however, has demons manifesting themselves through him, and I'm talking hundreds of demons. That is why Marty is crazy.

I am soooo happy someone else recognizes what Marty brought to The Rockers. Even as drugged up and coked out as he is, he was STILL able to perform.
Marty for a while was my favorite Rocker but Shawn was so good too what a great team they should've had a real title run before the break up
While they where together jennety was the better of the 2 Shawn was flashy and charismatic but Shawn got better in the ring and jennety habit had him slipping in his ring performance

I was born in late 84 and started watching wwf as a kid I always pretend to be jannetty because the guy was a great worker and is very underrated he deserves more then what he got

Some people are too young to really remember the Midnight Rockers/Rockers. Marty Jannetty was the main show in that tag team. Shawn Michaels was just kinda there. Funny how it all turned out.
Marty was early. Shawn was later. Shawn was very young when they partnered up only 20 years old. Marty was like 5 years older than he was.

Al Snow is a great wrestler. I thought it was awesome when he had a title shot against the rock back in the day. Al is underrated and as much as mick foley ribs him, mick will be the first to tell you how great al is.

You can hold whatever wrong decision you want, it's a free country, but there's a reason why Jannetty kept appearing on WWE and WCW even after he was well known for having issues. And it wasn't because he was a major draw in the mid-90s.
You talk to all the wrestlers at the time, they will tell you the dude was amazing to work with. Kind of like Waltman (X-Pac).
He would have been a strong mid-carder always getting work and flirting with occasional main event status if he could keep his shit together and not let it affect his business.

Wow just seen this , 3 years too late , but after watching the Marty Luna Oral rib , seeing the comments of everyone worried about Marty , man marty is a rocker, lived like a Rock Star , so much so , ppl relax Marty is still alive , and lived a life most of us could dream , and damn it he was good in the ring , Marty is so under appreciated

I agree with Snow on Marty being underrated... never saw him have a bad match, and if there was a cruiserweight division, he would have crushed it.
Hopefully he’ll be in the HOF some day, if not as an individual talent, then as a Rocker

I agree. Marty WAS the better wrestler between him and Shawn, but he made some bad choices that kept him from getting the career Shawn had. He was supposed to have singles title runs. Shawn got there mainly because he was the better performer (there is a difference). Shawn was more charismatic than Marty, but Marty was clearly the better wrestler, not that Shawn was bad.

I watched a lot of old Jannetty matches on the Network and it got me thinking about how Marty was different from Shawn. Marty was about 5 years older than Shawn(and about 3 years younger than Bret Hart). I actually think Marty's style was somewhere between Shawn's and Bret's. Turns out Marty did a lot of amateur wrestling first, like Bret. Strangely I can't find any singles matches between Bret and Marty. One thing is, I don't think Marty was quite as serious about getting to the top as Shawn and Bret were. I also think that maybe Shawn was thought to be the more handsome of the two.
He's the Sexy Boy, after all. Not Marty.

When I was a kid, I was a Rockers fan, and Marty Jannetty was the one that stood out the most to me out of the pair of them!
Although, looking back at his matches and even mic work, I think he has ADHD! I have a friend who is just like him who has! Can’t keep still, can’t take much info in at one time, he’s constantly looking around and looking for something more entertaining, but man, can he graft!

I get the impression that in hindsight, he looks back on those experiences fondly. The world of pro wrestling is filled with characters, and Marty was one of those standouts.

I always liked Marty more when I was a Rockers fan as a kid. I totally understand though that he was trying to do something funny to get a chuckle but at other peoples expense is not OK. There is limits to playing a joke when it is a joke but really making people pissed off is only for the individual to laugh at by himself. Marty probably felt left out of other peoples jokes so he would make himself smile. I know a kid who thought sending me a picture of his shit in the toilet funny and he would do it a lot to piss me off but it was just to get himself to laugh. I was not laughing but was like what the hell dude. That is really some messed up thing to do and now I don't talk to him anymore because of that alone. Marty on the other hand gave Al Snow stories to talk about so it did work to get attention just later in life not at the time he did it. I totally think there are people out there that just need more people in their lives to actually feel like a better person. There are a lot of people who have so many people in their lives so they don't know the feeling ever of being alone.
