Great video and transparency man! I have similar stats on Beatstars but it comes from me driving traffic to it. I feel like BS likes to make everyone believe that once you get the pro account, sales will just roll in. I really grind on socials and dm rappers every day - this has worked for me :)
you are doing it the right way! keep it up. direct messaging with artists is the best way. its not spammy and gives the opportunity for repeat business
On beatstars it isn’t necessary to be niche, it’s good to be versatile. You can always create different playlist or albums for the different kinds of beats to stay organized.
I have said in previous videos when you start out on Beatstars don't be niche so you have the time to look at the data after a while and see what type beats are performing best. if you can create in several different styles then thats awesome however for those who produce maybe 1 or 2 different types of beats, analysing trends and whats performing best will help grow the page quicker and get more beat sales down the line.

tbh. I didn't get the part where you explain how you did it, or what is essential. It just seemed like you picked your niche and uploaded and got plays without promotion? I have my account for about 6 months now, got about 100 beats, picked my niche, also pick trending types of beats, free downloads, low prices, collaborations, etc. and if I don't do promotion, my beats get between 0 and 5 listens each after the first 2 days, then 0-2 in the following months. I tbh can not belive it worked like this for you. I did promos and still didn't sell a single one. I started playing my 1. instrument with 4. and have been producing for 12 years, its not the quality. this vid tbh confuses me more than before since i guess it does work for some, but you don't seem to know why it did for you.

How do you know when it’s time to switch artist? I’ve been making the same type since November and I’ve only had 2 sales so far but I barely get any plays or free downloads

@@turocorp thats a great start that you are being consistent with your uploads, have you looked at your analytics to see which type of beats get the most downloads ? this was one big indicater to me which beats have the most interest. its the only stat i am concerned with free download. what i would say is the best thing you can do is start finding artists on soundcloud / instagram similiar to beats you make and pitching beats if you havent already. also having a type beat youtube channel has got me some of my sales as well. its every little helps kind of deal with selling beats. the thing i have found with beatstars is it isnt enough to just upload beats. took me 50 odd beats to get my first sale. but now ive uploaded 86 and got 7 sales. the next big thing i will be trying is email marketing so will do a video on that real soon
Yes, email marketing and networking through instagram are a few ways. with messaging artists directly you have the chance to build connections and offer discounts to attract repeat purchases. just don't jump straight in for the sale, get to know your customer and their needs so you can recommend the best beat for them rather than 'heres my beats check them out'
When doing beatstars promotion video can you start by doing a promo on a small amount like $5 - $10 and tell us what you saw and learnt and if it's worth it to even do a promo for $5 for one day
Of course I can! Good idea. What I can tell you I learnt in the first day is that results come slowly but get better as the days go on. Beatstars charges you for impressions but something there is a 1/2 to full day delay in an impression becoming a view so I’d always at least run and ad for 2 days just to let the results come through to see if it’s worth continuing

Make sure you keep part of the writers share in your contract.
No the rights are still yours unless you give them away
U need to state that in ur contracts, u can always negotiate terms with the artist for when they want it exclusively for them...make a bargain bro!
