My Wife is gonna freak out later this evening when I announce that we'll be adding another day and a few more miles to this Summer's trip (if it happens). We have friends up in Greeley who really want me to drive them up Pikes peak. From there, I have a couple of extended adventures I want to tackle... I've just added another one... US 50, of course. It's been eons since I travelled it, and I've never driven Skyline drive. Thanx for the inspiration, Kyle. I really hope it all can happen this Summer.
Thanks Dan! I hope you can check out skyline drive it’s a nail biter that’s for sure! I’m surprised you never checked it out when you were based in Colorado Springs considering how close you were to it relatively speaking! I will have my remade video of skyline drive coming out here in a week or so.
Good video, and a beautiful drive. Once again, a nice look at a drive that's off the beaten path and not an interstate. If I was in a hurry? I'd take the I-70 thru Glenwood Canyon and on to Vail and Denver. If not, this would be a very acceptable substitute.
Was on this stretch of Road back in 1985 when I was traveling with my family to see my grandparents in Canon City. Had an aunt and several cousins who lived in Canon too. Sadly, all of them are gone. My grandfather was a guard at the prison in Canon City for years. You mentioned Florence. That town has the Federal supermax prisons, housing the most notorious of prisoners, including the Green River Killer.
I love this drive along Hwy 50, the gorge section through the Arkansas Valley is always spectacular. And that white-knuckle diversion along Skyline Drive at 45:58 is definitely worth it for the views over the valley and Canon City!
Great video!!. I lived off of 50 for a while. This was the most beautiful drive of my 2,000+ miles trip. It is especially breathe taking from Canon City to Salida about an hour before sunset. Thank you for the memory of the beautiful scenery.
Awesome footage. Excellent drive Kyle. Was wondering if you ever took video of the drive from Livingston Mt. South through Yellowstone National Park to Jackson Hole Wyoming or vice versa? And between West Yellowstone Mt and Cody Wyoming? A couple of my favorite drives. Old Faithful Inn is my favorite place to visit.
I think it would be awesome if to make a video transverse US 50 from western terminus to its Eastern terminus. I know it would be costly but it would be great.
Driving US 50 is really a trip through the USA and I have driven it. Larger cities, small towns and meeting people who love the land they live and work on. Stay off the Interstates see the real USA and not the same old, same old stuff you see on your same Interstates Exits in your own hometowns.

I love that you put the Speed Limit 50 sign on the thumbnail of a US 50 video. That fit so well🙌
I'm glad you like that special touch I added to the thumbnail!
Darn it, I just had to add another road trip to my bucket list. I've been across both north and south of Hwy 50, but never across that route.
Route 50 is a nice drive video, very scenic. Must be amazing in person.

Beautiful drive, indeed! This is not an area I've been to, so it's great to check it out. I need to find out if Skyline Drive is OK for bike riding.
Yes you can ride your bike on it. It’s paved the entire way.
Thank you Carl! I will have some footage of skyline drive coming out next week.
Love these videos on Colorado
Thank you Mike!
